Leo traveled to the place his father had asked him to come.
After arriving at the airport, a man greeted him.
"Hello, Mr. Leo. Please come with me," he said politely.
Leo nodded. "Yes, sure."
The man introduced himself.
"I'm Daniel, Mr. Miles' assistant."
Leo followed him.
As they drove through the streets, Leo looked outside the window.
Everything felt… familiar.
Daniel noticed.
"I must say, sir… you really like this place, don't you?"
Leo smiled softly and nodded.
"Yes… I do."
"Is it because you studied here?" Daniel asked.
Leo looked outside again.
"…Yes."
After some time, they arrived.
Leo stepped out of the car and looked around.
His eyes widened slightly.
"…This place…"
Daniel smiled.
"Yes, sir. This is where you used to live."
For Leo, it felt like time had stopped.
This place held all his memories—
His parents…
And Claire.
Leo looked around slowly.
This is where everything began… he thought.
But I shouldn't think about her now… she probably doesn't even remember me.
Just then—
"Leo."
Leo turned.
"Father…"
It was Mr. Miles.
"I'm glad you came," Mr. Miles said warmly.
"Come, sit with me."
They both sat down.
"How are you, Father?" Leo asked.
"How have you been?"
"I'm fine," Mr. Miles replied.
Leo looked around again.
"I didn't know you were here."
Mr. Miles smiled faintly.
"I came here… because I missed this place."
He paused.
"And your father… my brother, Bernard."
Leo looked at him, surprised.
"This was his favorite place," Mr. Miles continued.
"He never wanted to give it to anyone."
He then looked at Leo.
"And you loved it too."
Leo was shocked.
"…What do you mean?"
Mr. Miles smiled gently.
"Your father loved you more than anything, Leo."
Leo froze.
"He may have been busy," Mr. Miles said,
"but he always cared about you."
Leo's eyes softened.
"When you got good marks, he was so proud," Mr. Miles continued.
"He used to tell everyone about you."
Leo felt his chest tighten.
"To him… you were his most precious person."
Tears slowly filled Leo's eyes.
After a moment, Leo spoke.
"…You know about Seth?"
Mr. Miles nodded.
"Not at first," he said.
"But when I came here, I met someone who told me everything about Seth and his father."
Leo listened carefully.
"They were the ones behind our company's downfall," Mr. Miles said.
"At first, I didn't believe it."
"But then everything started connecting."
"I called Daniel… and he confirmed everything."
Leo clenched his fists.
"So it's true…"
"Yes," Mr. Miles said.
"I regret not trusting you and Werren earlier."
Leo looked down.
"…What will we do now?"
Mr. Miles' expression became serious.
"I will go back," he said.
"But first… I need to fix my mistake."
Leo looked at him.
"How?"
"I will gather proof," Mr. Miles replied.
"There are many people Seth and his father betrayed. They will help us."
Leo nodded slowly.
"I understand…"
Then his eyes filled with determination.
"I'll make sure Seth pays for everything he's done."
Just then, Mr. Miles' phone rang.
"I have to go," he said, standing up.
He looked at Leo.
"You should rest for now. It must have been a tiring journey."
"I'll come back and tell you what to do next."
Leo nodded.
"Alright, Father."
Then Mr. Miles stopped for a moment.
"Leo… don't tell Werren about this yet."
Leo was surprised.
"…Why?"
Mr. Miles looked serious.
"I know he might misunderstand… but trust me for now."
Before Leo could say anything, Mr. Miles left.
Leo stood there, confused.
"…What should I do?"
"If I don't tell Werren, things might get worse…"
"And he's already angry at Father…"
Leo sighed.
"…This is getting complicated."
Just then—
His phone rang.
Leo looked at the screen.
"…Werren."
He froze.
"Oh no…"
