"The reasoning is solid, but it still isn't enough."
At this moment, Kennedy was like a gambler standing at the edge of the table. He only needed one final push, just a little more leverage, and he would step in completely.
Because both sides knew very well that Kennedy was not Killian's only option. There were many others already on their way.
In fact, the reason Kennedy had come so early was because he had received word that the government was also very interested in Baymax and wanted to invest in it as a flagship enterprise.
Yes, in America, whether it was the state government, the federal government, or even county governments, all of them invested in companies.
Although they were usually conservative about it, there was no doubt that AIM was worth investing in.
Not to mention that they had already just finalized a future development plan, strengthening information technology infrastructure, introducing new technical methods such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence, reducing manual operations, and improving efficiency and precision.
And, quite conveniently, Baymax practically satisfied every part of that plan.
Kennedy also knew that if he did not move quickly, then once the federal government stepped in, all he would get would be a thin bowl of soup.
Far less than the enormous benefits he could seize now.
What he had not expected, however, was that this Killian was even craftier than many businessmen he had met before, and even more like a vampire.
And for Killian, giving up just a little technology in exchange for leaning against a giant tree, allowing himself to safely develop his science while the U.S. government shielded him, what could possibly be more worthwhile than that?
In fact, Killian had an even bigger ambition.
His next step would be to draw the military in as well.
Political influence in one hand, military influence in the other.
"How about this? We sign an agreement. After you invest and take your stake, if you feel that the confidential material the company reveals to you afterward does not meet your expectations, then you may withdraw your shares unconditionally. How does that sound?"
"I'll even throw in an additional two percent of shares for the two of you for free, as a token of our friendship."
With that in mind, Killian quickly proposed a solution.
"Hahaha, you know, I'm very fond of one of Stalin's lines."
'The youth are our future. They are our hope.'
"And you, my friend, are exactly that."
After hearing Killian's proposal, Kennedy's tightly furrowed brow finally relaxed, and he smiled kindly at him.
"Then let me return a line as well."
"The talent of youth is invention. The talent of old age is judgment."
"Senator Kennedy, Senator Redman, believe me, the two of you deserve that line."
At that moment, both sides finally reached a true understanding for cooperation.
"Hahaha, to our friendship, cheers!"
"Cheers!"
And so, after the tense stage of negotiation passed, everything that followed was just mutual flattery and polite conversation.
After chatting freely for more than an hour, the three finally ended the meeting.
And the next time Killian appeared, he was already seated in the car heading back with Lisa.
"So? Judging from how happy you looked when you came out, it must have gone well."
Looking at Killian beside her, reeking of alcohol, Lisa asked curiously.
"Of course. From here on out, we can really start moving forward without holding back."
"Lisa, once you get back, have the legal department draft the cooperation agreement for this deal with Senator Kennedy and the others. You personally oversee it."
"After it's done, bring it to me."
After hearing Lisa's question, Killian immediately replied.
"Okay, no problem."
"Right, what about you? How did your side go?"
After getting Lisa's answer, Killian seemed to think of something and asked.
"Me? Very smoothly. Everyone was very tactful."
"I think the atmosphere will be even better the next time we meet."
Thanks to the confidence Killian gave her from his side, Lisa's time with the two senators' wives had gone much more harmoniously. The whole time, they had almost acted like sisters, exchanging warm and friendly chatter.
But Lisa also knew that all of it was only surface-level.
If not for Baymax and Killian, those women probably would not even have looked at her.
"Very good. Keep the relationship maintained regularly. Sometimes women get information through more channels, and more easily."
"Right, how is the search for my secretary going?"
After hearing Lisa's report, Killian nodded and asked again.
"Everything is going smoothly. Four candidates have already passed the first and second rounds. Tomorrow they're ready for your final interview."
Used to Killian's sudden questions by now, Lisa answered immediately.
"Alright. Then get some rest early. In the coming period, the company is going to expand rapidly, and the scale will definitely grow again."
"This is your opportunity. Do your best. I'm optimistic about you."
When the car stopped in front of his villa, Killian opened the door, gave Lisa those final instructions before getting out, and then walked toward the house.
"Welcome home, sir!"
"At three o'clock this afternoon, several guests came to visit. However, because you were not here, they left after saying they would return tomorrow during the day."
As Killian pushed open the door and entered the house, Baymax's familiar form emerged from the metal case by the entrance. While placing slippers by Killian's feet, it gave its report.
"Guests? Who were they?"
Hearing Baymax mention visitors, Killian could not help growing curious.
After all, although his address was not top secret, it was still not something ordinary people could easily find.
And if there really were business matters to discuss, they would normally contact his company through his secretary first.
Yet these people had come directly to his house, which made Killian feel that something was off.
"According to data retrieval, the visitors were respectively Johnson & Johnson Executive President Charlie Alex Modis, Pfizer Executive President Francis Henry, Merck Executive President Robert Modis, and AbbVie Biopharmaceutical Executive President Alfred Gerard."
After searching online, Baymax quickly listed their identities.
"Well, damn. No wonder they came right to my door. Every single one of them is a pharmaceutical giant."
After hearing Baymax's answer, Killian finally understood.
After all, when Baymax was first launched, Killian had already known that its black-tech vital sign monitoring would absolutely smash the rice bowls of many pharmaceutical companies.
But for them to come knocking after barely one day, not even two, that was still faster than he had expected.
At that moment, Killian felt that he had still underestimated the instincts of capitalists.
And if it had only been some small fry showing up, that would have been one thing.
But these were all executives, every single one of them.
