Chapter 36 - Chapter 36

"Everyone, be careful. These are all high-precision instruments. If anything breaks, none of us could ever afford to pay for it!"

"Handle them gently!"

Looking at the advanced equipment in front of him, the foreman was practically carrying one hundred and twenty worries in his heart. As he supervised everyone, he kept shouting reminders at the top of his lungs.

After all, any one of these machines was worth more than he could repay even if he sold himself.

Under the foreman's repeated warnings, nothing went wrong during the entire process. In just a few hours, all the equipment from the more than ten trucks had been completely unloaded.

At that point, Samuel began directing the workers, under the supervision of the security guards, to move everything one by one down to the second underground laboratory level.

Because of Killian's orders, they had already cleared out the entire second underground floor in advance to make room for these machines.

To be honest, Samuel was full of confusion about it all. Along the way, he had taken a rough look, but still could not tell exactly what the whole thing was.

He could only say that it was a huge piece of equipment, and there were more than ten identical huge pieces of equipment.

Still, no matter how curious he was, without the boss's instructions, Samuel did not interfere.

He only kept reminding people to be careful not to bump or damage the machines.

And after everything on their side was finished, Killian's car arrived at the laboratory entrance just before nightfall.

"Boss!"

The moment Killian got out of the car, Samuel Sterns, who had been waiting at the entrance, quickly ran over.

"How's the setup? Is everything arranged the way I instructed?"

As he walked toward the lab, Killian asked.

"Don't worry, Boss. Everything's already prepared."

"Although, judging from the machine... you aren't planning to..."

At first Samuel had not understood what those giant machines were.

But after the crates were opened and the equipment was assembled on site, if he still could not tell, then he would have been an idiot.

Nutrient tubes, cultivation pods, respirators, and vital sign monitors.

Once all of those were put together, was it not obviously meant for cultivating clones?

Hearing Samuel had basically guessed what it was, Killian gave him another look.

Samuel's overall energy was clearly much better than yesterday. The bloodshot eyes from before had already returned to normal after proper rest.

"That's right. They're clone cultivation pods."

"I had every single one specially customized."

Since Samuel had already figured it out, Killian did not bother hiding it and simply answered openly.

To be honest, cloning itself was nothing new anymore. Countries and corporations all over the world had done similar experiments, both publicly and secretly, in varying degrees.

And similar cultivation systems could actually be obtained from specialized suppliers if one had the right connections.

It was just that Killian needed a more professional standard, so he had them custom-built rather than buying ready-made systems.

Otherwise, the cloning equipment would have arrived even sooner.

"But, Boss, forgive me for saying this, but cloning requires an enormous amount of investment and cost."

"And for a clone body to mature, it still needs at least more than ten years."

That was right. Clones were not what most people imagined, where one could simply clone the original person's body type and age exactly as they were.

No matter where it was done, cloning still required time.

After all, going from a single embryonic cell to a mature human body, no matter how fast the process was, still required more than ten years, basically the normal time it took for a person to grow from childhood into adulthood.

"This isn't for me. It's for the future. Believe me, your experiments will need it."

Naturally, Killian could not reveal anything about the system, so that was the explanation he gave.

Because if the T-Virus project was to continue, human experimentation would be unavoidable, and it would require not just one or two subjects, but hundreds or even thousands.

Killian naturally could not do what other companies did and kidnap or traffic people for experimentation.

That would not only be illegal, but would also damage the company's future image.

So clones were the best option.

As for human rights and similar concerns... once the T-Virus matured, Killian believed Senator Kennedy and the U.S. government would be more than willing to establish the relevant laws for him.

And so, after saying that, the two of them arrived at the second underground laboratory level.

Once inside, the entire floor contained no one except Killian and Samuel.

Because he was about to cultivate the Blackwatch squad, there was no way Killian could leave anyone else stationed on this level. In fact, for a long time to come, this entire floor would remain sealed, accessible only to him.

"Alright, go back to your work. I'll handle the rest here myself."

After they reached the entrance, Killian dismissed Samuel.

Until he became truly powerful, he did not want anyone to know anything about the system.

Hearing Killian's words, Samuel tactfully returned to his own laboratory.

To be honest, if Killian had not summoned him, he would not have wanted to bother with this at all. Now that he had been sent back, it suited him perfectly.

After Samuel left, Killian reset the security password for the entire laboratory floor.

After the elevator doors opened on each underground level, there was always a heavy isolation door several dozen centimeters thick at the entrance, and only after opening it could anyone proceed inside. This level was no exception.

Once the password had been set, Killian walked in.

Inside were exactly twelve cultivation pods.

After arriving at the main control panel in the center, Killian silently brought up the system.

'System, exchange for the Blackwatch squad.'

'Prestige deducted: 5000. Remaining Prestige: 1472.'

The moment he finished saying that inwardly, Killian saw half of the cultivation pods in front of him suddenly light up.

Inside them, embryos began to appear one after another.

And before long, with the continuous infusion of some unknown substance, they began growing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In only two minutes, one adult naked male body after another had formed before Killian's eyes.

Each one stood inside a cultivation pod, their eyes closed in stillness.

And before Killian could even finish being astonished, a sharp beep sounded from the pods.

The bottoms of the cultivation pods immediately began draining the cultivation fluid away.

Then each of the men opened his eyes.

In front of every one of them, a full set of equipment appeared, and each man calmly dressed himself in the black combat suit laid out before him.

In less than thirty seconds, they had gone from awakening to fully equipping themselves.
