"Report, Commander. Watcher Squad. Seven assigned, seven present. Reporting for duty!"
At that moment, the squad leader stepped forward in full gear, approached Killian, gave him a military salute, and reported crisply.
Only after hearing him speak did Killian fully come back to himself.
It was too incredible.
In less than a few minutes, from nothing to something, a living combat squad had appeared right in front of him.
At this point, he no longer even wanted to dwell on why the clones matured so quickly.
Looking at the familiar standard triangular goggles, the dark gray combat suits, and the full weapon loadout ranging from light machine guns to heavy firepower, Killian finally felt much more at ease about his future safety.
As a longtime Prototype fan in his previous life, he had once controlled the protagonist while being hunted down by exactly this kind of squad until he was in absolute misery.
He had even restarted the game countless times.
And now, with a force like this in his hands, what was left for him to worry about?
"Do you have a name?"
Looking at the squad leader, Killian asked.
"Report, Commander. No, sir!"
The squad leader answered in the same calm, emotionless voice.
"From today onward, your name is Adam."
"And the squad you lead will be called Eden."
"Your mission, and theirs, is to cut a path forward for me, to use everything you have to protect me to the death, and to hunt down every enemy that stands in our way. Understood?"
Looking at the man before him, Killian spoke firmly.
"When we hunt, we kill."
"No one is safe. Nothing is sacred."
"We are Blackwatch. We are the final line."
"We will burn ourselves away to safeguard the Commander's life. That is the final line we are sworn to defend with our lives!"
After hearing Killian's words, all the Blackwatch squad members straightened at once and answered in unison.
For them, their existence itself was for the sake of carrying out the mission given by their creator. Beyond that, nothing else in the world could affect them.
"Very good. There's a testing area over there. Show me your capabilities."
After hearing the squad's declaration, Killian immediately gave the order.
"Yes, Commander."
After responding, the squad members saluted him again and then ran toward the training zone nearby.
To be honest, at that moment, hearing their perfectly unified vow of loyalty to him had shaken Killian deeply.
He truly had not expected the guards produced by the system to possess loyalty at such an insane level.
No wonder the system charged such a high price for them.
Killian believed that even if he ordered them to kill themselves on the spot, they would not hesitate for even a second.
And over the next several hours, Killian personally stood there as the recorder, watching their training and test data being generated.
"Shooting training: Top-tier."
"Close combat training: Top-tier."
"Coordinated assault training: Top-tier."
"Single-arm strength: 200 kg. Peak running speed: 20 m/s. Maximum reaction speed: 0.1 s. Pain tolerance level: Unmeasurable."
Looking at the final training report in his hand, every single category left Killian stunned.
The earlier ones were already impressive enough.
But the most shocking of all was the final category, pain endurance training, the kind of torture resistance and captivity survival training that virtually every elite force had to undergo.
As the name suggested, it was designed to simulate what an enemy might do to you if you were captured.
And even then, many military forces could not replicate the real thing one hundred percent.
After all... making someone live comfortably might be difficult, but making someone wish for death was something humanity had spent all of history perfecting.
And even so, when Killian watched them testing themselves, he could not bear it.
It was too brutal.
He even stopped the training midway through.
There was simply no need.
If he had not been able to see the cold sweat forming on the tortured man's forehead, Killian would have thought the system had simply removed their pain nerves when creating them.
But even with the kind of torture that should have made a person break instantly, and then even harsher methods piled on top of it, the subject never gave in in the slightest.
That was what truly stunned Killian.
With a force like this in his hands, what exactly was there left to fear?
"Report, Commander. Eden Squad has reassembled and is ready. Please issue the next order."
At that point, the squad had regrouped, and the squad leader stepped forward again to report.
"From now on, your duty is to guard my safety at all times."
...
With the weakness in his personal protection finally patched up,
Killian's company once again returned to its usual pace.
Under the new team Killian had arranged for her, Maya Hansen led them day and night in pushing forward the Ultimate Regeneration Project, trying to get it into human experimentation as soon as possible so that Killian would never regret his earlier choice.
Samuel Sterns' Stairway of the Sun project was also progressing at incredible speed.
Because of the importance Killian placed on the project, Samuel now already had three research teams under him, all mainly directed by him.
And with Killian's occasional guidance, combined with Samuel's own genius-level thinking, he had already mastered a great deal of theoretical knowledge and experimental data, to the point that he had even started arranging biological experiments.
At the site, aside from the two Blackwatch members Killian personally kept with him, the other five were all stationed in full gear throughout the laboratory.
That was to ensure that if any accident occurred, the situation could be controlled immediately.
As for whether Blackwatch would be able to contain an outbreak, Killian had absolutely no doubts.
And on Lisa's side, as the sales department was formally established, Baymax's sales volume continued to rise day by day, reaching strategic cooperation agreements with many companies and even foreign governments.
Baymax units could now be customized for their specific professional needs and public image, all for only a little extra money.
Under the nonstop efforts of the sales department led by Lisa,
AIM could now truly be described as earning money by the day at a staggering pace, with its value rising almost daily.
Because of that, old Kennedy had even specifically contacted Killian during this period and told him to focus on developing the company peacefully, saying he would handle matters outside the company himself.
The only problem was that the government side was pushing very hard.
They urgently wanted to take an investment stake, because there was still a huge difference between being an ally and being a true national-level enterprise.
Killian expressed full understanding.
He then made another deal with Kennedy, selling another three percent of the shares at the original price as the fare needed to fully hitch his company onto the great vehicle of government power.
