The Dream World didn't stay still for long. The moment they started moving forward, the ground beneath their feet pulsed again, like a slow heartbeat echoing through the land itself. Aarav walked ahead cautiously, his eyes scanning every corner, every shadow that moved without reason. The floating islands above shifted slightly, casting broken light patterns across the terrain, while the air carried a strange whisper—as if something unseen was breathing nearby. Meera stayed close, Lyra glowing softly beside her, lighting up their path, while Rayan walked behind them, unusually quiet. "…Why does it feel like something is watching us?" he muttered. Zippu's glow dimmed slightly. "Because something is," he said.
For a moment, nothing happened. Then a sound broke the silence. "Khrrr… khrrr…" It was low, rough—like stone grinding against stone. Aarav stopped instantly. "Did you hear that?" Meera nodded slowly, her expression tightening. Lyra's light grew brighter, reacting instinctively. Rayan froze. "Nope. I didn't hear anything. And I don't WANT to hear anything." The sound came again—closer this time. From the shadows. But there was nothing there.
Then the ground cracked.
A thin line formed right in front of them… then spread slowly, like something crawling beneath the surface. "Back!" Aarav shouted, pulling Meera aside just as the ground burst open. And then it appeared. A creature unlike anything they had seen before. It stood twice Aarav's height, its long limbs bending at unnatural angles. Its body looked like broken stone, filled with glowing purple cracks that pulsed faintly. Its head tilted slightly, unstable, with no clear face—only two deep glowing eyes buried within the fractures. Every movement it made produced that same horrifying sound—"Khrrr… khrrr…"
Rayan stepped back slowly. "…Okay. That's not normal. That's VERY not normal." Zippu spoke immediately, his voice serious. "Cracked Stalker. It hunts using movement and vibration." The creature suddenly twitched. Its head snapped toward them. It had found them. And in the next second—it moved. Not fast, but precise. Its long arm dragged across the ground, sending cracks spreading outward. Aarav jumped aside. "Don't move randomly! It's tracking us!"
Meera reacted instantly. "Stay controlled!" she said, raising her hand as Lyra's light expanded, illuminating the area. The creature paused for a second, reacting to the light, but then let out a deeper sound and attacked again. Aarav moved carefully now, controlling every step. The creature's attacks were slow but heavy, each strike shaking the ground. Meera used Lyra to distract it, creating small openings, while Rayan struggled to balance himself. "This is not walking, this is surviving gravity bugs!" he muttered nervously.
Suddenly, the creature stopped. The cracks on its body began glowing brighter. Zippu's eyes widened. "It's adapting." The creature's posture shifted slightly—and then it attacked again, this time much faster. Its arm extended unnaturally, forcing Aarav to block directly as the impact pushed him back. "It's getting faster!" Aarav shouted. Meera quickly reacted. "Aarav, left!" Lyra released a burst of light, blinding the creature for a moment. Aarav used that chance and struck its arm—but a sharp vibration ran through him instantly.
"The cracks… they're not weak," Aarav realized. "They're energy channels." The creature slammed both arms into the ground, sending fractures rushing toward them. Rayan jumped awkwardly. "WHY IS EVERYTHING TRYING TO BREAK?!" For a moment, it felt like they were losing. The creature was stronger now. Faster. Smarter. Aarav clenched his fist, observing carefully. Then he noticed something. Every time it attacked—the cracks glowed brighter.
"That's it…" he said quietly. "That's the weakness."
Meera looked at him. "What?"
"It's releasing energy through those cracks. If we overload them… it'll collapse."
Zippu nodded instantly. "That could work."
Rayan blinked. "So we break the already broken thing? Cool. Makes sense."
Aarav stepped forward again, drawing its attention. The creature locked onto him and charged. At the same moment, Meera signaled Lyra, and a concentrated beam of golden light struck the creature's body, forcing its cracks to glow intensely. "NOW!" Aarav shouted. This time, he didn't attack randomly—he aimed directly at the glowing cracks. Each strike made the energy inside flicker violently. The creature let out a distorted sound as its form began to destabilize.
Rayan raised his hand instinctively, his glitch energy flickering wildly. "Okay… I have no idea what I'm doing… but let's go!" A burst of unstable energy shot forward and hit the creature directly. For a split second, everything froze. Then—CRACK. The entire body shattered, breaking into fragments that slowly faded into dust.
Silence.
Rayan stared. "…Did we just win?"
Aarav exhaled slowly. "Yeah… we did."
Meera relaxed slightly, Lyra dimming beside her.
Zippu floated quietly. "That was just a low-level creature," he said.
Rayan immediately looked at him. "…I don't like where this is going."
Aarav looked ahead at the endless Dream World—unstable, unknown, and dangerous. And deep inside, he knew one thing for sure…
This was just the beginning.
