Chapter 36 — Escape and Exodus
The skies of Krypton burned in chaos.
Globally, across Kandor and beyond, the war with the Daxamites raged with no mercy.
Orbital outposts blazed as energy cannons fired relentlessly. Defensive satellites engaged the invading fleet.
Every Daxamite vessel pressed forward, taking advantage of the weakened state of Krypton after its devastating civil war.
Lightning-fast fighter squadrons clashed in the upper atmosphere. Below, cities trembled from plasma bombardments.
Amid this chaos, one operation went unnoticed—a covert strike within the heart of the Council's prison.
Inside the heavily fortified underground complex, Von-Ra remained in isolation. The cells were designed specifically to contain him, shielded from technology and personnel that could sense his full power.
A quiet footstep echoed across the hall.
A soldier emerged from the shadows, dressed as part of the Council's faction.
He stopped before Von-Ra's cell, bowing slightly.
"Your Highness, I'm here to free you from this prison."
Von-Ra raised an eyebrow. His voice was calm, even in the situation.
"Why… what happened on the surface?"
The soldier glanced behind him, ensuring no patrols were near.
"The Daxamites have attacked. Chaos reigns above. But your prison is separate from the other prisoners for your protection."
Von-Ra's eyes narrowed.
"And the others?"
"They plan to send you to another planet to recuperate, Your Highness."
A flicker of surprise crossed Von-Ra's face.
"Why… why would they come up with that plan?"
The soldier answered quietly.
"The Elders say it is better for you to build a force outside Krypton than remain here—where you will always be monitored, hunted, and restrained."
Von-Ra's golden eyes gleamed faintly in the dim light.
"So… it is final then?"
"Yes, Your Highness."
He gestured toward a transport pod concealed nearby.
"All preparations are complete. Your ship awaits, equipped with a Genesis Chamber for the future incubation of new-generation Kryptonians."
"And the laboratory?" Von-Ra asked.
"Fully equipped, Your Highness," the soldier confirmed. "The ores collected from across Krypton have been transported and stored within the ship."
Von-Ra's expression softened slightly.
"And Koryn?"
"He will serve you throughout the journey, Your Highness."
Von-Ra nodded, processing the scope of what had been prepared.
Cut to the House of El, deep within Kandor.
Dru-Zod stood before a massive star map projected across the war room table.
"The ship's coordinates are already set as planned, Your Highness," he said.
Von-Ra traced the path with his finger, following the trajectory toward a distant star system.
"You will go to terra," Dru-Zod explained. "Somewhere in the Milky Way, inside the Orion Arm. It is safe, isolated, and ideal for your preparations."
(AN: terra is earth, universally all intelligent lifeforms outside earth, they call earth terra that's why when avengers say that they`re from earth star lord didn't recognize the planet immediately he said "I'm not from earth I'm from Missouri" but Missouri is in united state )
(AN: it is also confirmed on S.H.I.E.L.D TV series that aliens called earth terra and the earthlings are called terrans)
Von-Ra turned to Zod, curiosity piqued.
"You said that by bathing under the rays of a yellow sun, our hidden talents will awaken—like our ancestors in the past, when our legacies and glories peaked?". "yes" Von-Ra replied
Zod's expression hardened.
"You will become a god among mortals, Your Highness."
Von-Ra's lips curled into a faint smile.
"Good. Then proceed as planned."
He paused, taking a deep breath.
"Let me first say goodbye to Kara."
Outside Kara's room, Von-Ra knocked softly.
"Kara… sweetie, it's me—Von."
The door flew open.
"BROTHEEER!!" Kara shouted, rushing toward him with tears streaming down her face.
"Mother's telling the truth… they truly broke you out of prison!"
Von-Ra smiled softly, gently placing his hand on her shoulder.
"Yes… I am free. But I need to say goodbye."
Kara's face fell.
"I… WHAT? No!"
Von-Ra nodded solemnly.
"I must journey far from here, Kara."
Her hands trembled as she reached for him.
"We just met again… and now you're leaving already?"
Von-Ra crouched slightly to meet her gaze.
"I have no choice. But… we will see each other again. I promise you that."
Kara's shoulders slumped, but her eyes glimmered with hope.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Von-Ra turned and moved down the hall.
He approached his parents in the main living chamber.
"mother…father…" he said softly, bowing slightly.
His mother's eyes shimmered with tears.
"My son…"
He placed a hand over theirs.
"I go now… but I will return. Prepare yourselves, protect Krypton… and Kara."
Zor-El and Alura nodded solemnly, understanding the weight of his words.
The journey ahead would be long, dangerous, and transformative.
Von-Ra turned toward the waiting ship.
The stars called to him.
And with a final glance at his family, he stepped aboard.
The engines roared to life, and the ship launched into the infinite expanse of the galaxy, leaving Krypton—and its chaos—behind.
