Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: We Need Such a Unit

"Did he really say that?"

After listening to Coulson's report, Nick Fury, the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., was somewhat puzzled.

Logically, the excavation of their secret Base should have been seamless. Everyone who could possibly have known about it had been implicated by him; they couldn't have exposed it themselves.

So, what was going on with this Harry Osborn?

"He said he judged it based on power grid anomalies."

Power grid anomalies? That was complete bullshit.

On the surface, S.H.I.E.L.D. had dozens of legitimate units using the Osborn Group's power grid.

But these units were all legal and compliant, and their power consumption perfectly matched their registered information. There was absolutely no way they would make a low-level mistake like abnormal power usage.

And once the current reached their units, it would be integrated into their own power grid. S.H.I.E.L.D. certainly wouldn't be stupid enough to use Osborn Group equipment to monitor their own power grid.

In other words, the Osborn Group shouldn't know that this current ultimately converged at their underground Base in New York.

Of course, that was the conventional situation—unfortunately, Harry had Lening, a life form in the form of electrical energy.

As long as the electricity flowed out of the Osborn grid, Harry could sense where that current went, even without detection equipment.

After thinking for a long time, Nick still had no clue.

"Did the report mention technology in this regard?" Nick asked while opening his computer.

"No," Natasha replied.

"Then let's use our own generators for power. Be careful and cautious."

This was a helpless move; the cost of using generators caused expenses to skyrocket instantly, but Nick knew too little about this Osborn.

"Our recent operations have increased the risk of exposure over there significantly. Should we withdraw the Agent?"

Nick lowered his head to think for a moment, then shook his head.

"This Harry Osborn is very strange. We don't know his background; maintain surveillance at all times."

"But—"

"Besides, according to recent reports, even if the Agent is exposed, there won't be too much danger. His intelligence is very important; work comes first."

Since it had come to this, Natasha couldn't really refute it.

The surveillance on Harry began when Norman started developing the human enhancer. The original intention was to monitor the Osborn Group, but the target gradually shifted to Harry.

Norman's project was eventually proven to lack practicality and was called off by the Military. During that time, Nick Fury even thought Norman might ignore the danger and inject himself with that stuff, so he made many contingency plans.

However, Norman didn't show any abnormalities, but they discovered that Harry had become tough.

From an ordinary rich second-generation kid, he turned into a great inventor. Even now, he didn't know what exactly had happened.

"Anyway, just leave Harry Osborn as is for now. Everything remains as usual."

"The problem now is Tony Stark."

Just this morning, an insurgent stronghold in the Gulmira region was destroyed by an unknown force. The Air Force stated they were unaware.

But on the other hand, an F-22 Raptor was shot down, and the Air Force claimed it was an exercise.

Nick had heard some rumors; the protagonist of both events was likely the same thing—a new type of weapon.

"Not bad, Frank. How is Lisa recovering?" Harry said while looking at the materials Frank had organized.

"Thanks for asking, she already went back to school last week."

Frank smiled and continued:

"Mr. Osborn, I don't know if I should say this, but in the materials you gave me, some of the training methods seem a bit..."

"Advanced?"

Frank nodded.

Frank's thoughts were completely correct; these were, of course, Military materials from an advanced era.

Whether it was the Spartan Warriors or the Pilot, in their original works, they were all Super Soldiers born to deal with interstellar warfare, and each was a legend. Looking at interstellar warfare through the eyes of this era was like an army from 1,000 years ago looking at modern warfare.

However, according to Harry's judgment, Frank had completed the task assigned to him very well, organizing the materials according to realistic conditions.

"It's understandable that you think these are too advanced, but starting today, I hope you will treat this material seriously."

As he spoke, Harry stood up and pulled a large-caliber pistol from his waist.

Out of instinct, Frank's muscles tensed up, but he only saw Harry aim the muzzle at his own palm—

In Frank's shocked gaze, Harry fired a shot at his own palm!

Bang!

Frank was astonished to find that the bullet did not pass through Harry's hand!

Harry slowly opened his palm. Although his palm had been bruised by the pistol shot, it was clear that the damage the bullet dealt to Harry was nothing more than that.

After the biological modification surgery, Harry's bones had become indestructible.

"W-what was that?"

"We will need such a unit in the future." Harry stepped forward and gently patted Frank on the shoulder.

"But who is the enemy?"

"The enemy is the enemy. Did you ask that question when you were serving in the Military? Didn't your drill instructor teach you that?"

Frank shuddered. Although Harry didn't explain what was going on, he could guess a little bit from the combat materials.

In any case, it couldn't be the third-World countries he had once attacked.

Just then, Harry's phone rang. Harry waved his hand to let Frank leave first.

It was a call from Tony.

"Osborn Kid, you lost this time."

Listening to what Tony said on the other end of the phone, Harry shook his head helplessly.

He knew what Tony was talking about—Tony had blown up Gulmira.

Before Tony left to resolve the Gulmira situation, he even called Harry: "Want to compete again? Kid."

The tone actually had a bit of a Western cowboy vibe.

This was, of course, refused by Harry. The goblin glider hadn't been equipped with suitable weapons yet. If he had really gone, he would only have been able to use his fists to solve problems.

Although with the help of an exoskeleton, tearing a tank apart with his bare hands wasn't too difficult for him, he wasn't interested in that.

"Did I say I wanted to compete with you on this? Did I? Mr. Stark, this is a moral victory for you."

"I don't care, you lost." On the other end of the phone, Tony seemed to be taking off his mark armor, and there was a clanking noise.

"Mr. Stark, I don't object to you making up for your mistakes, but what's the point of blowing up one or two camps?"

"So what's your suggestion? I heard your dad is preparing to run for New York Governor, and you want me to help you campaign, right?"

"Yes, so will you do me this favor?" Harry admitted it openly, which actually made Stark feel a bit unaccustomed.

Tony had a great influence on young people, especially after he admitted that he was Iron Man.

If Tony could support him once, he could certainly support him a second time—during the President election.

"I'll consider it. Enough talk, Pepper is here, I have to hang up."

Leaning back in his chair, Harry knew Obadiah was about to start acting up; it was time to offer help when it was needed most.

But he still hadn't figured out the weapon for the goblin glider.

Was he really going to have to tear his iron can apart with his bare hands?
