"Frank, how is your recovery going?"
In an undisclosed medical facility in the suburbs, Frank was currently recuperating.
He had used the latest equipment Harry gave him for his first real combat mission, but the Superman-like fighting style had still caused some discomfort to his body.
While wearing the suit, it could constantly inject him with stimulants to counteract these symptoms, but there were some side effects after taking the suit off.
However, it looked like there were no problems now.
"Ready for the next operation at any time."
"Actually, the operation is over. The Hand handed over the secret medicine, which is what I wanted to tell you."
Harry's words struck Frank like a thunderbolt; he dropped the barbell in his Hands, his body trembling slightly.
The secret medicine meant that there was a chance for his wife and son to be resurrected.
Before long, Frank's wife and son were both carried into the laboratory.
Seeing the corpses of his wife and son, Frank felt somewhat fortunate to have met Harry Osborn.
After joining Osborn, he had used the money to switch his wife and son to a high-quality funeral home and even had the bodies embalmed.
The bodies were preserved reasonably well—for people who had been dead for over ten months.
But Harry was still not very optimistic about this operation, even though he had already replaced many parts of the bodies with artificial prosthetics; in a sense, they were already cyborgs, just like a robocop.
One had to keep in mind that the people the Hand resurrected hadn't been dead for long, and their bodies were still relatively intact.
But Harry didn't mind giving it a try; after all, the materials the Hand handed over were enough to resurrect three people.
This was a secret experiment known only to Norman, Harry, and Frank.
"Father, we can begin."
In the sterile laboratory, the two corpses were submerged in the medicinal solution, and everyone watched the center of the laboratory nervously.
One minute.
Two minutes.
Five minutes.
Splash!
Two arms suddenly reached out from the water at the same time!
Frank was about to rush forward to grab their Hands, but Harry stopped him.
"Maria, Frank!"
The tough guy shouted their names loudly, and the two crawled out of the medicinal solution like zombies, coughing as if they were about to vomit up their internal organs, before collapsing weakly to the side.
"Harry, their vital signs are weakening!"
"What?" Frank was stunned; could it be that his wife and son were going to die again just after being resurrected?
"Inject the active enhancer and see if we can keep them alive."
The two injections worked; the post-mortem lividity on their bodies gradually faded, and their breathing and heartbeats stabilized, but judging by their eyes, they didn't seem to have regained consciousness!
[Host detected to have successfully completed the resurrection surgery; mission issued.]
[Mission: Spirit Awakening.]
[Description: Help the resurrected regain consciousness.]
[Reward: Theory: Psionic Sensitivity.]
"All artificial organs are working normally, and there are no issues with the nerves or capillary fluid. The MRI—this is simply magic. Their brains have been restored to completeness, but there seems to be some rejection in certain areas?"
Norman said somewhat uncertainly, continuing:
"It's not the artificial parts that are rejecting; we should prepare for another surgery."
Seeing this, Harry let go of Frank.
"Maria? Frank? Can you hear me?"
The two were like vegetables, showing absolutely no reaction.
"Frank, I have to congratulate you. At the very least, we succeeded in the first step."
Harry also felt somewhat shocked—although he knew this thing could bring people back to life, actually seeing people who had been dead for several months resurrect was a different matter entirely.
"What's wrong with them? Why is there no reaction?"
"They have been gone for too long. Although their bodies have come back to life, it seems their consciousness requires other means to be restored." Harry patted Frank on the shoulder.
"But first, we need to remove all the parts of their bodies that are showing signs of rejection."
The second round of surgery began immediately, but this time they had to call Dr. Connors over.
"Dr., do you remember the surgery I had you perform a while ago?"
Looking at the two people who had regained vitality before him, Connors certainly remembered these two bodies—he had even asked Harry at the time, but Harry had said this was an experiment to test new prosthetics!
"What happened! They..." Seeing these two former corpses, Connors vaguely felt his worldview was about to collapse.
Harry shook his head: "Dr., don't ask too much about this. We need to remove the necrotic parts from them right now. Can you do it?"
Connors nodded with difficulty; of course he could do it, as he was the one who had completed the replacement of the organs on the corpses.
Of course, this experiment couldn't have Strange come over to perform the surgery again, but now that there was a precedent, Dr. Connors could also perform such a surgery.
The surgery was performed in secret; except for Norman, no one left the place.
A week later, the bodies of both had been fully repaired, and their vital signs were trending toward normal.
But the price was that they had brand new appearances.
"Are they okay?" Frank stroked his wife's cheek, a large portion of which had been replaced with artificial material.
"Don't worry, this is just a transitional solution. Once they regain consciousness, we can try to replace the skin again," Connors comforted him.
"The problem now is their consciousness." Harry walked up to Frank. "This might require relying on you."
"Generally speaking, for patients like this, all we can do is take care of them attentively and hope that one day they will regain consciousness."
"But I have something else here now."
Harry closed his eyes under their gaze, and a Strange emotion spread through both of their minds.
"You will want to feel angry now."
As Harry's voice fell, an urge really did appear in their minds!
"What is this? Some kind of hyper-sensory science?" Connors thought for a moment and found a term to describe it.
"Pretty much." Harry took out a stack of documents. "Frank, you need to follow the cultivation methods above, learn this skill, and then wake up your family."
Frank took the documents and nodded heavily.
"But before that, according to my experiments, people with super-strong senses are more likely to complete this cultivation."
"I happen to possess a surgery that can grant you super-strong senses."
It is easier for Psionicists to emerge among groups with superhuman senses, especially those with hyper-senses—or rather, the Sixth Sense, like Harry—who have an extremely high probability of mastering psionic ability.
Ordinary people don't have the conditions like Matt, but they can enhance their abilities and improve their sensory capabilities through biological modification surgery.
"But the success rate of this modification surgery is not one hundred percent. It may lead to Parkinson's disease, Fletcher syndrome, blindness, and other issues, so I want to ask you: are you willing to undergo the modification?"
"If I don't undergo the modification, how many years will it take for me to learn this skill?"
"I don't know. One year, two years, or maybe forever."
Harry was not lying.
According to the psionic theory data, among ordinary people, there might not even be one Psionicist in ten million.
"I will undergo the modification."
