Chapter 32 - THE FALL OF KUMBHAKARNA

Chapter 32: The Fall of Kumbhakarna

The battlefield outside Lanka trembled.

From the gates of the golden city emerged Kumbhakarna, the giant brother of Ravana.

Towering above warriors like a mountain, he wore massive armor and carried an enormous spear. Every step shook the earth, and his roar echoed across the battlefield.

Even the bravest Vanaras paused for a moment.

But Hanuman raised his voice.

"Do not fear! Fight for Lord Rama! Fight for Dharma!"

Inspired by Hanuman, the Vanara army charged forward.

Thousands of Vanaras climbed upon Kumbhakarna, hurling rocks, trees, and mountains.

Yet the giant seemed unstoppable.

He swept away entire groups of warriors with a single movement of his arms.

His spear struck the earth like thunder.

Many Vanaras were thrown into the air.

The battlefield became a scene of fierce combat.

Nila attacked with enormous boulders.

Angada leaped upon Kumbhakarna's shoulders and struck him with tremendous force.

The giant staggered but remained standing.

Hanuman then entered the battle.

The two mighty warriors clashed with incredible power.

Hanuman's fists struck like thunderbolts.

Kumbhakarna answered with blows that shook the mountains.

For a long time, neither warrior gained the advantage.

Seeing Hanuman surrounded, Sugriva rushed into battle.

With great courage, he leaped onto Kumbhakarna's body and attacked him fiercely.

The giant caught Sugriva in his powerful grip and carried him toward Lanka.

But Sugriva broke free and struck Kumbhakarna with such force that the giant released him.

Sugriva returned safely to Rama's army.

Though wounded, Kumbhakarna continued advancing.

He crushed rocks beneath his feet.

He broke trees like dry branches.

His determination never weakened.

Watching from a distance, Rama understood that the time had come.

He stepped onto the battlefield with his Kodanda bow.

The armies fell silent.

Kumbhakarna looked upon Rama and smiled.

"So, Prince of Ayodhya..."

"At last we meet."

Rama folded his hands respectfully.

"Kumbhakarna, you are a great warrior."

"You know that your brother acted against Dharma."

"Even now, you may choose the path of righteousness."

Kumbhakarna lowered his spear.

"My Lord, I know the truth."

"I told Ravana to return Sita."

"But he is my elder brother."

"I cannot abandon him."

"My duty as a brother binds me, even though I know this battle will be my last."

Rama nodded with compassion.

"Then fight with honor."

"And may your soul attain peace."

The final duel began.

Kumbhakarna hurled his massive spear.

Rama shattered it with a divine arrow.

The giant uprooted mountains and threw them across the battlefield.

Rama destroyed them one after another.

Arrow after arrow flew from Rama's bow.

Each struck its mark with perfect precision.

Kumbhakarna continued advancing despite his wounds.

His courage amazed both armies.

Finally, Rama invoked the mighty Indrastra.

The divine weapon blazed with heavenly light.

It struck Kumbhakarna with tremendous force, severing one of his arms.

Still, the giant fought on.

A second celestial arrow severed his other arm.

Even without his arms, Kumbhakarna charged forward.

Another divine arrow brought down one of his legs.

Then the other.

Yet his spirit remained unbroken.

At last, Rama invoked a powerful celestial weapon.

Offering a silent prayer to Dharma, he released the arrow.

It flew like a streak of lightning.

The divine missile struck Kumbhakarna's neck.

The giant's head was severed and fell into the ocean with a thunderous crash.

His enormous body collapsed upon the battlefield like a fallen mountain.

The earth shook.

The sky became silent.

The Vanara army roared in victory.

The Rakshasas bowed their heads in grief.

Even Rama stood quietly, honoring the fallen warrior.

"He was brave," Rama said.

"He knew the path of righteousness, yet chose to stand by his brother out of loyalty."

"May his soul find eternal peace."

Far away in Lanka, Ravana received the news.

For a long time, he said nothing.

Then tears filled his eyes.

His strongest brother...

His greatest protector...

Had fallen.

Grief slowly turned into burning rage.

He swore that Rama would pay for Kumbhakarna's death.

But destiny had already begun its final course.

One by one, the mighty pillars of Lanka were falling.

Soon, Meghanada—the unconquered son of Ravana—would enter the battlefield.

The war had reached its most dangerous stage.

The end of Lanka was drawing near.
