Orion continued to watch the human who had caught his attention a moment ago.
Adam.
The name still echoed in his mind as he observed the primitive man moving among the others.
There was nothing remarkable about his physical appearance—he was weaker than the others, with messy hair, a dirt-covered body, and primitive clothing made of animal skins.
But the way he moved was different.
Adam did not wander aimlessly like the other humans.
He observed.
He would pause sometimes, look at something, then approach it slowly as if trying to understand it.
"Hmm…"
Orion leaned slightly, following the scene.
At that moment, one of the humans sat near the fire, striking two stones together repeatedly, trying to mimic what had happened earlier when a spark ignited.
But the man seemed confused.
The spark did not appear this time.
Adam approached slowly.
He sat nearby, watching in silence.
The primitive man continued striking haphazardly.
Adam suddenly stopped… then picked up two more stones from the ground.
He stared at them for a moment.
Then he struck them together at a different angle.
A small spark jumped into the air.
The primitive man froze.
Adam repeated the motion.
Another spark.
The man's eyes widened as if he had witnessed magic.
As for Orion… he smiled slightly.
"He learns quickly."
He watched Adam place dry straw near the stones and repeat the strike.
After a few moments, light smoke rose.
The other humans cautiously approached, observing what was happening.
Slowly… a small fire began to burn.
Adam said nothing.
He just sat calmly near the fire, watching it.
Strangely, the other humans also sat around him.
As if his presence near the fire made it… somehow his own.
Orion raised an eyebrow.
"Interesting."
He sat silently, observing Adam. He was not like the others. Every movement, every glance, was different.
A faint feeling stirred, as if an invisible thread had formed between him and this new human.
He noticed a small detail that caught his attention: Adam was focusing on the fire, moving his hand over the flames, as if trying to understand what he saw.
Orion recalled the System's words about magic:
"Magic requires a mind capable of comprehending the laws of mana."
Orion smiled faintly, watching Adam:
"Perhaps… it won't take long."
He knew this creature might be the first to attempt using magic in this world, and what he was witnessing was just the beginning of an adventure that would change the course of history on his planet.
