Location: Underground Chamber, Qin Family Ancestral Grounds
Three days had passed since Huaian had discovered the mysterious scroll and awakened the flicker of the Void Flame. Since then, his daily life remained unchanged on the surface—still playing quietly, still pretending to train with wooden staves alongside younger disciples, still pretending to be weak.
But in truth, everything had changed.
Beneath the Qin Estate, hidden under the ancestral hall, lay a sealed underground chamber—an ancient stone cavern lit by floating soul-lanterns and protected by powerful runes only the patriarch could control.
Here, Huaian now stood barefoot, before the one man in the family who knew the truth.
Qin Fengyuan, once a renowned cultivator of the 9th Realm, now aged and partially withdrawn from public life, stood silently beside a glowing formation circle.
"This place was created by the founder of our clan over three centuries ago," Fengyuan began. "It is where the forbidden paths were hidden… and where I once trained when I was near death."
Huaian looked around in awe. The walls were inscribed with thousands of strange runes, many of which pulsed faintly in his presence. Some glowed brighter as he stepped near, as if recognizing the Void Flame within him.
"You are not like other cultivators," Fengyuan said, kneeling down to meet Huaian's gaze. "Your meridians are broken, yes. But in their emptiness… lies a rare path."
Huaian looked down. "Can I really… become strong?"
Fengyuan placed a hand on his head. "Not strong like others. Stronger."

☯️ The First Training
Fengyuan began with Void Meditation—a method not of channeling energy, but of erasing sensation. Huaian had to sit in stillness for hours, not breathing in qi but pushing everything out: pain, thought, fear, even hope.
In doing so, he learned to become empty—the first requirement for hosting the Void Flame.
Most would go mad.
But Huaian endured.
Each night after his surface training with Xiaoxiao and the outer disciples, he would sneak into the ancestral chamber, guided by a hidden stone passage only he and Fengyuan knew.
His body remained weak.
But his spirit… began to awaken.
One night, after hours of silence, Fengyuan tossed him into a freezing spirit spring. "Pain is your teacher now," the old patriarch said calmly as Huaian screamed, his body shivering uncontrollably.
Inside the icy torment, something in Huaian snapped. Not his bones—his spiritual awareness.
A second flicker of flame burst to life in his lower dantian, this one purple-white and spinning slowly. It was not qi… not divine power…
It was Void Essence.
Fengyuan nodded to himself. "He's awakening faster than I expected.
