Inside the cave, Nexus was getting familiar with his larger build. The potion not only doubled his strength but also doubled his size. His current size was getting so big that the cave was getting cramped for him.
Due to his leaving here and breathing the poisonous element every day, the poisonous element in the water had decreased.
Now, the only source of the poison element in the cave where the three lotus buds are, after he consumes them, this poisonous pond will most likely turn into a normal pond after a few years.
Among the items he had looted, except for the potions and the holy book, he had sold everything else to Silvia (White Feathered Eagle).
And what he got in return was information, as per their agreement, she would give him daily information about everything that was happening. Well, if it's about any great opportunity, she would most likely hide it.
He wouldn't care for such things; he only wants the general knowledge. After all, being out of the loop is never a good thing.
Plus, he had heard the tigers roar a few days ago and understood that it was the call of the lord of this area. Through Silvia, he wants to understand the stance of the native beasts toward them.
If they turn hostile, he could at least be warned of the situation and make the needed decision quickly.
As for Silvia going back on her words or not fulfilling her promise according to the agreement, well then, he would just lament at his judgment of character.
He would try to punish her in the future if the situation allows, though he still feels a certain amount of trust for her.
After all, in the business of selling information, the most basic foundation is a level of trust. Thus, she should squander this trust for just a G grade and a few H-grade materials.
Looking at the completely eaten bull, a look of helplessness couldn't help but appear on his face. Due to his stats doubling, his hunger has also doubled; in fact, it has more than doubled.
The amount of meat that could have lasted for almost thirty days was eaten clean in seven days. If his experience growth had doubled, he would have been quite happy, but alas, how could such a good thing happen out of nowhere?
He understood that for his new, larger, and stronger body, he needed more energy and nutrition for the same level of growth.
"Perhaps this is a form of natural balance."
He muttered to himself as he made his way outside the cave, his gaze caught the moving figure of a Forest Wolf a few kilometers away.
Except for the first forest wolf that tried to ambush him, this was the second forest wolf he had met. This presence in front of him was so low that he even forgot that they were the overlords of the Eastern Winding Forest.
Well, it can't be helped, after all, he spends most of his time inside the cave, and the Forest wolves, by nature, are nocturnal creatures.
Seeing a healthy forest wolf in daytime, he knew that trouble was brewing in that direction; if his memories served him right, that was the place where the headquarters of the Heavenly Tiger Alliance were.
"Well, not my problem."
He muttered as he moved toward the opposite direction; he naturally didn't go toward the Steel Horned Bulls' hoard, after all, their leader might still be setting up an ambush.
As he moved through the forest, he felt that the forest was quieter than before. Just as he was wondering why, he remembered the tiger's roar.
He understood that most weak creatures must have hidden themselves due to fear. Although it was a roar from a distance, they didn't dare take their chances.
In fact, if his food hadn't run out, he wouldn't have gone out. As he walked through the quiet forest, a loud noise broke the serenity.
"Pwaaaaa!!!"
An elephant's trumpet filled with anger and madness was heard as a tree fell down in the distance. His body tensed as he instinctively activated stealth.
He didn't escape because he didn't feel a life-threatening danger from the beast causing the commotion. He moved his body as he silently made his way toward the source of the sound.
His eyes caught sight of a massive elephant, which was at least two meters larger than the largest counterpart in his last life. Well, he is almost as tall as the smallest elephants in his last life.
The fact that this elephant was only this tall meant it was a juvenile. Looking at the rampaging beast, he understood the situation.
It was a human reincarnate or player, as they call it, who was losing to his/her beastly instinct. This rampage was the last roar of the human self.
Looking at the beast's massive body, he could help but drool; after all, so much meat should sustain him for months. As for the storage problem, he can just dig a pit inside the cave to put the meat in.
Moving silently, he watched the beast rampage; the time-to-time flow of the earth element let him know the race of this beast. The Earth Crushing Elephant is an overlord(The species that has a beast lord) species from another forest.
He watched in silence as it continued to exhaust its stamina and energy. Just as he felt that he would get an easy prey, he felt a disturbance next to him.
He turned his head but didn't find anything. He suddenly sensed something and was about to escape, but it was too late.
The elephant disturbed by the disturbance near him finally noticed his hidden figure. Anger consumed its body as it charged toward him.
It's a tusk made of sold earth like substance pierced through his body as blood spilled, he opened his mouth and fired a poisonous spit at its eyes.
":Pwaaa!!!"
The elephant roared in pain as Nexus gritted his teeth and pulled his body out of the tusk, his blood staining the ground. He swung his long tail at full force as he broke one of its tusks.
The elephant roared in pain and anger as it raised its front two legs, earth element gathered as it slammed on the ground.
Nexus dodged, but the overflowing earth element still rattled his inside, mixing the blood in his mouth with his poisonous saliva. He pounced on the elephant.
His teeth dug into its body as his poison started to spread through its blood. Its body, which was already exhausted, fell into paralysis.
Taking the chance with his mouth still biting its body, he fired a poisonous spit near the area of it's heard. The arrow pierced through its body, leaving a hole inside.
Although it didn't hit the heart, it created enough wounds that the massive body fell down. Although it was still alive due to the poison and the internal injuries, its life had already entered a countdown.
Looking at his bleeding body, he took out the cleansing potion and drank it in one gulp. Although it didn't heal his body, it did stop the bleeding. With his current strong body after a week or so of rest, he should return to full health.
