Chapter 10 - The Beginning of the End

Ravi is not in his room.

Ash is scattered everywhere in the room. The bed is half-burnt.

Seeing all this, Vijay is shocked.

Vinay is also terrified and says,

"Vijay… what is all this?"

Vijay doesn't reply. He calls all the hospital staff and asks them about Ravi.

"Where is Ravi?"

Everyone is already scared. One of the staff members stammers,

"Sir… he… he took him."

"Who took him?!"

"That man… the one with the half-burnt face. He came here last night and took Ravi sir with him."

"Who was he?"

"We don't know, sir. We've never seen him before."

Another staff member adds,

"Yes sir… he was terrifying. There was a horrible burnt smell coming from his body."

"And none of you tried to stop him?"

"No sir… how could we stop him? He looked like a spirit. We don't know where he came from, and he just took Ravi sir away."

"Seeing his face, most of us fainted. And those who didn't… didn't have the courage to stop him."

"You all are educated, and you believe in ghosts? Aren't you ashamed?"

"Sir, we may be educated… but that 'spirit' wasn't. Why would it spare us?"

Hearing this, some staff members laugh.

Vijay and Vinay get very angry.

"A patient is kidnapped right in front of you, and instead of feeling ashamed, you're laughing?! If anything happens to Ravi… you all better start looking for new jobs."

"And if this news goes outside—that a patient disappeared from our hospital—this hospital will shut down."

"So keep this matter to yourselves if you value your jobs. Understood?"

"Yes sir… we understand. But sir…"

"What?"

"Shouldn't we report Ravi's disappearance to the police? When they come and investigate, the news will spread anyway."

"No. We will not file any report about Ravi."

Vinay is shocked.

"What are you saying, Vijay?! Ravi's life is in danger, and you're saying you won't report it?! Have you lost your mind?"

"Ravi is our friend—not just your patient!"

"Vinay, I'll explain everything later. But please understand the situation right now… don't ask anything."

Vinay leaves angrily.

Vijay instructs the hospital staff on how to manage everything and keep the matter hidden.

After leaving the hospital, he goes to Ajay's farmhouse, where he had called all his friends.

All the friends gather there and are furious at Vijay.

Vijay says,

"What do you all think? That I don't care about Ravi? He's my friend too. I'm just as worried as all of you. But why won't you try to understand me?"

"Filing a report won't help."

"Why? Because your hospital's reputation will be damaged?"

"No. Because Ravi is probably already dead."

"And this wasn't a kidnapping for money. This is revenge. The one who took him must have already killed him."

"What are you trying to say?"

"Before going to Mussoorie, I received a note… and a call."

"So?"

"That call was from him."

"He threatened to kill all of us. And he personally came to meet Ravi."

"The face Ravi kept seeing… that burnt face… it was his."

"Ravi told me himself. Right, Vinay?"

"Yes… he kept talking about a half-burnt face, but I didn't understand at that time."

"And do you all know… Vishal is dead."

Everyone is shocked.

"What?! What are you saying, Vijay?!"

"I'm telling the truth. Vinay, the video you received from my phone was incomplete."

"The body being cut in that video… was Vishal's."

"What?! But how can you be so sure?"

"Because the full clip is with Inspector Akhil and almost the entire police department."

"Did you see it?"

"Yes."

"But maybe someone is playing a prank on us."

"No. This is not a joke. Because no one except us knew about the deaths of those two friends."

"And whoever is doing all this… knows everything about their deaths."

"He's doing this to take revenge on us."

"His goal is to play with our fear… and then kill us."

"That's why he keeps using these terrifying tricks."

"If that's true… then all our lives are in danger."

"So what should we do now?"

"I haven't figured that out yet. But remember—if anyone gets a call from an unknown number, don't answer it."

"And keep your guns with you for safety."

"I'll think of something by tomorrow."

"Okay, Vijay. We'll do as you say. But…"

"But what?"

"Is it safe for all of us to stay separately?"

They are still talking when suddenly—

A dead body falls right in front of them.

Its legs are badly burnt.
