One month later, one day before the field test...
Kairos was sweating bullets, his muscles aching from the intense training session with Instructor Jin. They were in the middle of a sparring match, and Kairos was determined to finally land a hit. But Instructor Jin was too good, dodging every attack with ease.
"Again!" Instructor Jin shouted, his voice unwavering.
Kairos charged forward, his fists flying, but Instructor Jin sidestepped him with a smirk. Before Kairos could react, Instructor Jin landed a gentle tap on his chest, sending him stumbling back.
"Not yet, Kia," Instructor Jin said with a chuckle. "You've got the power, but you need to work on your finesse."
Just then, a voice echoed from the entrance. "Ah, Instructor Jin, I see you're still pushing Kia to his limits."
Kairos turned to see Bia Zhang, the Master of Shadow Martial Club, walking towards them with a warm smile.
"Kia, congratulations. You've made tremendous progress in the past few months," Bia Zhang said, his eyes shining with approval.
Instructor Jin nodded in agreement. "Yes, Kia's been doing great. He's got a natural talent for this."
Kairos bowed, feeling a mix of pride and frustration. "Thanks, Master Bia. But it's still not enough for the field test."
Bia Zhang chuckled. "Ah, Kia, it's not about being enough; it's about pushing yourself beyond your limits. Keep it up, and you'll be ready."
With that, Bia Zhang nodded and exited the scene, leaving Kairos to continue his training with Instructor Jin.
"You've got this, Kia," Instructor Jin said, clapping him on the back. "Now, let's work on that finesse."
"But, Instructor Jin, how can I keep up with your speed?" Kairos asked, frustration etched on his face.
Instructor Jin smiled, his eyes twinkling. "It's not about speed, Kia. It's about utilizing your Star Ruins power into micro-level movement."
"Micro-level movement?" Kairos repeated, curiosity piqued.
"There are four levels of body movement in the warrior world," Instructor Jin explained. "Basic level, micro level, perfect level, and superb level. Micro body movement means predicting your rival's move to avoid their attacks with minimal movement. It builds on numerous combat experience."
Kairos' eyes widened. "But, Instructor Jin, this skill is only on the second level..."
Instructor Jin chuckled. "Most senior warriors already know it and have mastered it."
"Senior warriors?" Kairos asked, intrigued. "Oh, you don't know? Warriors have hierarchies among them, according to the grading system. There are Star Ruins soldiers, Star Ruins warriors, and the rare Star Ruins War Gods. Each level is subdivided into three levels: early, mid, and late. Generally, one becomes an early-stage junior warrior once passing the test. Usually, you can defeat them with hot weapons, but senior warriors aren't afraid of hot weapons. Their speed is faster than the current hot weapons we have. Their body movements are perfect and flawless."
Kairos' eyes were wide with wonder. "Next... War Gods? They can smash buildings and even block a titanic explosive with bare hands, sustaining only minor injuries. They are like gods."
Instructor Jin nodded gravely. "Yes, and there are levels higher than this. Reaching that level... there are only two in Hun Xin who have reached that level. Huuu... Hun Xin is one of the major powers in the world, and only two of them..."
"Wow, they are really rare," Kairos breathed.
Instructor Jin's phone rang, breaking the intense training session. He answered, listened for a moment, and nodded. "Director Zhuge is here. Kia, come with me to the meeting room."
Kairos' eyes widened as he followed Instructor Jin to the meeting room. Director Zhuge, a warm smile on his face, greeted them.
"Kia, I've heard from Instructor Jin that you've made progress with the cultivation technique," Director Zhuge said.
"Yes, sir. I mastered it not long ago," Kairos replied, feeling a sense of pride.
"Good, good, good," Director Zhuge nodded. "How's your fist power and speed now?"
Kairos thought back to his earlier test. "I just tested them today. My fist power is 3200kg, and my speed is 67 meters per second."
Director Zhuge's eyebrows rose. "Impressive. Kia, I'm here on behalf of the Shadow Martial Club to invite you to join us... in advance."
Kairos' eyes widened. "Join the Martial Club in advance? But I haven't passed the field test yet!"
Kairos was in shock. "Your talent is worthy of attention, Kia. This is our offer," Director Zhuge said, handing Kairos a book.
Kairos opened it, his eyes scanning the pages. A villa, 20 thousand Hiaxin dollars, guidance on sabre skills and body techniques... and a total price tag of 100 million Dollars.
Kairos' jaw dropped. "A...a villa and 20 thousand Hiaxin dollars?" he stuttered.
Director Zhuge smiled. "Guidance on sabre skill and body skills, also guiding techniques for them too. A total package worth 100 million Dollars. Will you accept it?"
Kairos looked up, a grin spreading across his face. "Who wouldn't? I'm in!" He signed the contract with a flourish.
Director Zhuge chuckled, extending a hand. "Welcome to Shadow Martial Club, Kia. I'm looking forward to seeing you among the higher-ups."
Kairos nodded, still in awe. Director Zhuge continued, "You can move into your villa today."
As Kairos left the meeting room, Director Zhuge called out, "By the way, my name is Zhuge Tao."
Kairos turned, excitement still radiating from him, and nodded. "Got it, Director Zhuge Tao!"
With that, he exited the scene š.
