The Konoha Hospital smelled of sterile alcohol and the faint, copper scent of blood.
The Uchiha nurse, Mikoto (a distant relative, not Sasuke's mother), rushed through the hallways. "Doctor! This baby is burning up!"
Ren kept his chakra circulating at high speed, keeping his body temperature artificially high. To the medical ninjas, it looked like a life-threatening fever. To Ren, it was just a localized application of 'Tail-Beast Vitality'.
"Get him to Ward 4," a doctor ordered. "We have a lot of wounded from the attack, but we can't let an Uchiha orphan die on our watch."
Ren's eyes darted around. Ward 4 was on the same floor as the VIP suites. The System's radar was pinging like crazy.
**[Detection: High-Level Energy Source nearby!]****[Detection: S-Rank Chakra Signature identified!]**
*Minato.*
As the nurse laid Ren in a small medical crib and the doctors began their checkup, Ren waited for the perfect moment. He waited until the nurse left to get paperwork and the doctor was called away to an emergency in the next room.
Ren didn't waste a second. Using his 'Sage Body' strength, he rolled out of the crib. He hit the floor silently, his tiny limbs moving with surprising coordination. He crawled—faster than any baby should—toward the heavy oak door at the end of the hall.
Two ANBU guards were stationed there, but they were looking outward, focused on the hallway. They never expected a one-month-old baby to be crawling between their legs.
Ren used a tiny burst of chakra to mask his sound, a trick he'd figured out thanks to his 'Genius Comprehension'. He slipped into the room just as a guard turned his head.
The room was dim. In the center, hooked up to various sealing arrays and IV drips, was Minato Namikaze.
The Fourth Hokage looked like a ghost. His blonde hair was dull, and his skin was covered in dark, necrotic veins—the mark of the Death God's seal. His chakra pathways were shattered.
Ren crawled onto the bed, his tiny hands reaching out.
**[Target Identified: Minato Namikaze (Near-Death).]****[Extraction Available... Warning: Target is too weak for extraction.]****[Reverse-Extraction (Vitality Transfer) Available! Would the Host like to proceed?]**

Ren touched Minato's hand.
Immediately, a vibrant, orange-gold glow erupted from Ren's palm. The 'Tail-Beast Vitality'—the essence of the Nine-Tails' life force—poured into Minato.
The necrotic veins on Minato's arm began to recede. His shallow breathing deepened. The shattered chakra pathways, which even the best Med-Nin couldn't fix, began to knit back together under the influence of the world's most powerful life force.
Ren felt a wave of exhaustion hit him. Transferring his own "extracted" energy was much harder than taking it.
Just then, the door creaked open.
"Hokage-sama, it's time for your..."
A Med-Nin froze. She looked at the bed. She saw the "Miracle Baby" from the Uchiha clan sitting on the Hokage's chest, his tiny hand glowing with a divine light.
Ren looked at her, his eyes wide. *Oops.*
"SECURITY!" the Med-Nin screamed.
