Chapter 18: Guiding the First Society

Alicia had now confirmed something important.

Her lifeforms were beginning to think more clearly.

Which meant the next step was obvious.

She needed to guide them.

Not too much.

Not too directly.

Just enough to help them develop without making them dependent on outside interference.

Her attention naturally went to the humans first.

They were beginning to gather more often near rivers and plains, especially in places with easy access to food, water, and open visibility.

Alicia subtly adjusted the surrounding Soul Power around those areas, encouraging calm, cooperation, and awareness rather than aggression or panic.

The effects were gradual.

The humans began staying together more consistently.

Some started sharing food more often.

Others naturally took on simple roles—watching the surroundings, gathering edible plants, or carrying things.

It wasn't society yet.

But it was close enough to matter.

Meanwhile, in the forest, the silver fox continued proving itself strangely useful.

It had begun returning to the same fallen log repeatedly, using the area as a temporary shelter and food spot.

A few smaller creatures followed the pattern, using the same area more consistently.

Alicia watched this with quiet amusement.

"…You're basically inventing real estate."

The fox, once again, did not acknowledge her contribution to its success.

That was fine.

Alicia was starting to get used to being ignored by her own wildlife.

Still, the pattern was encouraging.

Both humans and beasts were beginning to organize themselves around useful locations.

That mattered.

Because communities didn't start with buildings or language.

They started with shared behavior.

The system confirmed her observation.

Ding!

[Observation Update: Early Societal Behavior Detected]

Alicia remained still for a moment.

Then thought:

"…Good."

She wasn't trying to force civilization into existence.

She just needed to keep making it easier for life to move in that direction.

And so far, it was working.
