He was in a vision, he saw into the future clearly and that's never happened before. They just lit their candles. He spoke, "You guys! Wait! I saw everyone bleeding from their eyes!"
Still they drank the glasses and now, the portal opened immediately they read the cards out loud. Seven shadows appeared around them. And just like that, so swiftly the board game swallowed them in.
Silver moved back in fear, all of them were gone. The shadows too. He moved back again, Amber was right. His instincts too.
He tried to look for signal through his phone but there wasn't any, he dropped the phone into his pocket. He wasn't sure of what to do, he decided it was best to stay calm. He turned to the window, it was still. The light stopped flickering, he ran out of the apartment. He rushed quickly into his gray car, he drove till he got to the store. It was locked.
He looked inside thinking he would see the lady but he didn't. He stood in unexplainable confusion looking around the road, he turned to the side and noticed someone he had seen before. He saw her tonight. He moved closer and noticed it was Amber.
She saw him walking towards her, she smiled at him. "Amber? Amber! We have a bit of a major problem here. There's something wrong and it's more than I can explain."
She replied, "Hey! Calm down. Talk to me, what's wrong? Did they get into a fight? Did they kill anyone? What happened? Bring the details."
"If they killed someone I would be happier, Amber the game took them." She stared at him confused at his words. She tried her best to understand it but she couldn't. He spoke again, "Amber, the game wasn't normal. It wasn't normal at all and you were right and I was right and the feelings we've been having? They were all correct, the game sucked them after they read the cards out loud. Some shadow figures appeared too before it happened. Come quick."
"Sorry, what's your name?" They never spoke at the gathering, they just made eye contact for a while.
"Oh right… I'm Silver. I'm one of Damon's friends. And you are Amber right?" He asked.
She smiled and nodded, "Yeah, that's right. Amber, so here's the deal. We'll need to get to the lady at the store right now."
He turned to it saying, "But it's… " He froze. When he stood there, it was locked. Infact it was even silent and dark. No lights on, surprisingly they actually had people walking in and out of there.
He turned to her, "Do you see that? I just walked away from that spot to you and I can tell you this, it wasn't open."
"Well now it is, thankfully she's looking at us. I think she aware already, she wants to see us." Amber ran towards her direction, She asked, "Can you help us?" The woman smiled.
She said, "Let them play. May be best man survive." Survive? That's not what the popular saying said. It's may the best man win. May be odds be ever in your favour.
The lady wanted to walk away but Amber held her arm. "I need you to help us. They're inside, how do we get them out? What if they don't survive?"
"If they won't come out alive, then they definitely will come out dead. One after the other. The rules states it all." She just remembered the rules, right! They were at the apartment.
She responded, "Thank you. I'll be back."
She ran towards Silver's car with him, they drove to the apartment. They entered it and locked the door, "Well you heard what she said, first we'll have to read the rules. Then we can navigate through the map to get to them."
She took the map of the first box, she opened it and displayed it on the dining table. He brought out the rules and regulations of the game.
His eyes stared at them in shock, he wish he read them. He held her left arm, he said, "Amber this isn't a game, it's a portal. They've been thinking the wrong thing, it's more deadly than we thought. Here's what it says, number one, The players of the game must play till they bleed. They must drop the blood at a bowl before leaving. Number two, no weapons are allowed into the other dimension. Number three, different stages bring rules and sacrifices. Each level had four parts, the coup stage, the scar stage, the hunt stage and the blood stage."
They stare at themselves amazed at the requirements needed for the game to even start and then for the game to even end as well. Amber walked over to the board, she looked down into the board, she saw a few blood drops. "I guess they've started dropping the blood samples already. Did you see the rules say before or after?"
He looked at it again, he replied, "Before and after. That's insane. They'll be exhausted by the end of it."
She didn't like the sound of that, "Silver, one of us will need to go in one way or another. We can't leave them there like that. But which one of us can?"
"Well the rules didn't give any strict specifications for the gender and the age but it didn't give one for the level of purity. It says, only a pure heart will see the coin in the midst of the rough. Only the pure blood can pave the way for the rest. But the thing I need to know is this, who's the pure one? What's the pure one like? What's the symbol of a pure one?"
She's even more worried now, she can't tell who's a virgin and who's not. "I think that'll be a virgin and the last time I remembered our friend group, we have more of couples with very high sexual energies than that of virgin energy."
She knew she was a virgin but she wasn't willing to risk it all. He said, "I'm actually… a… virgin."
