Chapter 4 - Fall

It was a 6-foot-tall head that had small legs and small hands. It had a solemn expression as if carrying some heavy emotional weight. That thing didn't look human, but it was so eerily close to one. And now that thing was moving towards his sister's room.

For a moment, he couldn't move. His legs, his hands were frozen, unable to move.

'Don't think, Emil, MOOOOVEEEE!!!'

Emil rose from the bed and dashed towards the door. His condition was stable, but he still had not fully recovered. That is why his legs were shaky and could not support him.

BAM!!

He fell before reaching the door.

The wound on his head opened up.

Dr. Turner was still in shock that this medical facility could be infiltrated. He moved his head towards the sound. He frowned.

"What are you trying to do, you twat!" Dr. Turner shouted at the top of his lungs.

He ran towards Emil, who was losing a lot of blood.

"No, please, I need to save my sister, please don't do that." He was struggling to speak.

"Emil...Emil, look at me." Dr. Turner tried to calm him down.

But due to the weight of grief pressing on him, Emil was not able to control his impulses.

"No, you don't understand, I need to save her," Emil said in a frenzied tone.

"Emil, she is safe." Dr. raised his voice.

"No, I can't let her...what?" Emil, bewildered, looked at Dr. Turner.

"She is safe, look at the TV." Dr. Turner pointed towards the TV.

Emil couldn't believe his eyes. The abomination was already dead. And it was the same girl who slew the abomination. She was standing in front of the fallen abomination, which was cut in half.

The situation in the facility calmed down.

Emil, after giving Dr. Turner a headache, was shifted to the same room as his sister.

Emily was still not awake; it was as if she were in a deep slumber.

He was now in the room with two doctors. He didn't have the nerve to talk with Dr. Aria, who gave him a death stare while Dr. Turner was explaining his situation to her.

'Hmmm...those things, what even are they, all of them are so different from each other. It doesn't seem that anyone has known about our disappearance. Wait. Grandma, is she not searching for us?'

"Hey, Dr. Turner, I have a question." Emil hesitantly tried to break the silence.

"Yeah...umm...definitely."

"Has our grandma not made contact with anybody? Also, where are we exactly? This certainly is not a normal hospital, you see."

"Yup. One thing is certain, that this is not a normal medical facility, it is a highly private and protected facility, that is not even known to governments of the world."

Emil's eyes narrowed. It's just as the video said, it is a part of a secret organization. But the part of not even the government knowing about this froze him.

"And about your grandmother, she...sh...she couldn't bear the loss--" Dr. Turner hesitatingly said.

"No-" Emil's eyes were hollow. His whole world was upside down. The already pressing weight of grief was now becoming unbearable.

Sparks of the living are only set ablaze when they are ignited by others. If they don't exist, there is no spark. There is no point.

The weight of the dead was already weighing him. Now knowing that the siblings were the only ones in the world to share the burden, his heart started to ache. Sweat started to drip off his face and hands.

Humans have given this condition a special name, though, a severe panic attack.

Emil's breath was unsteady, and the whole world was spinning around him.

"Emil, Emil, stay with me, look at me, breathe, breathe." Dr. Turner came to him as soon as possible after watching him lose control.

Emil could hear his voice; he tried to pace with what the Doctor was telling, but the pain in his chest was simply becoming unbearable.

After what felt like a millennium, he was finally able to calm down.

"Emil, I think you need to rest. You are not ready for these conversations right now. For that matter, no one in the world can do that. I insist that you must rest. Any further mental burden is not going to be good for you." Dr. Turner tried to make it clear.

"No, ...doc...Doctor, I think I am, it was just the shock."

"Yes, it was just the shock, and that is why it's dangerous."

"It's fine, it's just that I couldn't even tell her how much I used to hate those weekends, but still, it used to be so refreshing. Especially her cupcakes, I don't think that anyone can even match those." Emil put his head down, and tears rolled down his cheeks.

Dr. Turner put his hand on his shoulder, a reassuring touch to let it all out. After letting it all out, Emil calmed down. Doctor Aria, while looking at him with her cold oceanic eyes, handed him a water bottle. He drank some water and put the bottle on the table beside him.

BUZZ!

The doorbell rang, and Dr. Turner got up. He opened the door. A familiar face was in front of Emil — the angel who had saved him and his sister twice.

Emil's eyes widened. It was as if something possessed him. Even if he could describe his sensation to someone, they wouldn't understand.

He was thoughtless for some moments, then he gazed at her. The gaze made the young lady a little bit uncomfortable, as she couldn't understand what he wanted.

"Do you need something?" The girl asked hesitantly but politely.

Those words, he didn't know what they did to him, but his mind blanked.

'AAh...what is going on? She thinks I am a creep. I need to come up with something.'

That desperation in his mind made him say something that he wouldn't have said ever to anyone in his life.

"No...um...Yes, I need you." He said in a shaky voice.

'What? Noooooooo, you dumbaaaass'

The girl was stunned. Her grizzled eyes peered into him, asking a question he didn't have an answer for. Dr. Turner turned around, maybe trying to save himself from laughing on his face. Even Dr. Aria was startled and had a smile she was trying to cover up with her hands.

'Now you have done it.'

She started moving towards him. Stopped right beside his bed.

Emil wasn't looking up. It was as if someone had put a ton of steel on his head. He pretended not to exist.

The girl leaned towards him, with her shining, marble-white arms, and she lifted Emil's chin, forcing him to meet her gaze.

"What do you need me for?" The girl asked in a stern voice.

'Yeah, I am dead now. Just cut me down already.'
