I felt a jab to my shoulder and I awoke from the faint. 'I thought this lady would leave me alone if I fainted' I said to myself. 'Zhen,you have to brace up to defend yourself,else,you will die carelessly.' said my inner voice to me. I managed to stand on my feet and took a stance I saw on that battlefield. Kim Beomi made to kick my knees,I made a swift turn and went in with a blow to her jaw. It hit her bad,she staggered. 'That was new and good' I said with a faint smile. Though still with the pain from the jab she dealt my shoulder,I made an enormous roll of the same arm and sent her flying with a blow to her abdomen. 'It's the triple blow effect' someone in the arena shouted. 'She has unlocked the third level of the White Harem' Cheng Fu reiterated
'That's a good start on her first day' Wei Chen mentioned. 'You don't expect less of the chosen one' Wei Feng said excitedly. As these conversations went on, my head was racing with many questions. What exactly happened just now. How did I pull that off? Where did the strength come from? I remember feeling as though some force was working through me. I felt so different,so alive and full of energy. I've never felt such burst of energy all my life. The feat I just performed is naturally impossible.
Still mesmerised by the event,I saw Kim Beomi pacing with so much anger. 'Even though she has not unlocked as many energy levels, it was too much for a first encounter with a novice,regardless of the prophecy' said Kim Beomi as she expressed her anger to Cheng Fu. 'You do not know that,you don't get to decide how quick she unlocks her energy levels' Cheng Fu replied. 'There are many things you still do not understand Kim Beomi,no wonder you are unable to get past the fifth dimension of your coordination' snickered Shin Fei. 'Thats enough! Do not start up another fight here. We should all put our differences behind us and focus on making the prophecy come to past.' Cheng Fu said with authority. At this they all echoed ' Yes,my queen!'
I carefully signalled Wei Chen,who had just been observing the brawl between the two. He approached me and for a split second I was immersed in how appealing he looked. The armour fit on his body as though it was custom made for him. He smiled faintly at me, touched my shoulder and said ' How are you?'. I do not know maybe it was the touch,the question or the fact that he sat so close to me I could immerse his scent in me. I started crying profusely. ' I am useless,I don't understand what's going on,who I am or why I am here. All the talks about a prophecy,the fulfillment and me somewhere in the equation is overwhelming. I am tired of being the cause of the fight between two warrior sisters'. I said in tears.
Wei Chen did not utter a word. He just sat there patting me on my back and just humming a tune I could not make out it's genre. It was so soothing I never want it to stop. I never imagined this kind of chaos in my life. Although my life presently is chaotic,I do not mind the presence of Wei Chen in it. With him I felt safe,I felt loved and I felt fulfilled. He doesn't care about what the prophecy has said or how quickly I learn all that they wanted me to, he was only concerned about me. It was a great relief to finally find a place I belonged,and that place was Wei Chen.
Wei Feng came close to us and whispered into Wei Chen's right ear. I could not make out what was said,but he eased me from himself and stood up. 'Zhen,you should rest with the ladies tonight. Do not get bothered about anything. More truths will be unveiled to you by tomorrow. Do well to rest now.' he said with all sincerity. 'Wei Chen! Will I see you tomorrow '. I asked obviously unwilling to be parted from him. 'Definitely! Wei Chen assured.
Wei Feng and I went back to the room provided for me. Seeing how reluctant I was to let Wei Chen go, she teased me,'would you prefer I prepare a room close to his,so you'll be closer?' I blushed and replied ' that would be overreaching. I'm fine. Thank you so much' She gave me a knowing look,hugged me and left giggling. I laid on the bed, closed my eyes and tried to drift off into sleep as I heard her steps fading out.
The night was cold and so were the sheets with which I covered myself. I played back the events of the day and thought to myself 'could I really be the chosen one? What's my connection to this place. Why does the queen seem familiar? Her face keeps reoccurring to me' I was in the midst of these thoughts when sleep finally overpowered me. As I slept, I saw a vision that seemed so real I had to pinch myself into reality. I was standing at the river bank and as I lifted up my eyes, I saw a woman being pursued by a warrior(he had a resemblance to Wei Chen,though much older). The warrior overpowered the woman and had his way with her. I saw that many months later,the woman was in labour and all alone. In the process of the birth, a female Centaur was passing by the hut she stayed at the outskirts of a particular town, she stopped and helped her have a safe delivery. The woman handed over the child(a beautiful girl)to the Centaur and she died shortly after. I heard a knock on the door simultaneously as I pinched myself in the dream. I woke up from the dream and behold it was Cheng Fu and the Queen.
