I quickly closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep.
'This is not gonna work bro…'
I continued pretending. The door then closed leaving me in silence.
'Did she not see me and leave?'
…
*Silence*
'This has gotta be a trap.'
I slowly opened my eyes to see Midnights face looming over mine.
"You're not slick." She said trying to hold back a laugh. "Why you hiding anyways?"
"I don't know. I just felt like I got caught in a bad act or something." I sat up straight and pulled my knees up to my chest.
Meanwhile Midnight walked around the couch before plonking herself next to me, stretching her arms across the back of the couch. "So, do we need talk? About how to navigate this sudden decision?"
I put on a thumbnail worthy face. "Nemuri… we need to talk."
'Heh.'
"You look stupid right now."
My ears twitched.
"Haaaah… you wouldn't understand." I put my hands atop my face. "But… never mind that. When it comes to how you act, just do whatever you want. You can learn my boundaries on your o-"
*Poke*
…
*Poke*
"Stop poking my cheeks. I'm trying to talk here." I grumbled.
She then started stretching them instead. "You said I can do what I want and I don't see you pulling my hands away…"
I pouted and pulled away to continue watching Nezu's playlist. "Can you at least let me face the TV?"
"Hmmm I wonder. Your face is really squishy you know."
I started the video again. "Well I just found out about that the hard way."
My body suddenly swayed as I was pulled into Midnight's lap and plopped down. I noticed this but didn't care since I could still see the TV. Besides, it was warm and I still had my blanket on me.
"Keep better care of your hair, like using a brush so I can touch it freely."
"Does it have knots? OW!"
"It does. Also can I touch your ears?"
"Try it. No one's ever done that before so I don't know." I bowed my head.
Soon her soft fingers brushed my ears and caressed them.
'Uhh, um, er huh? Eh? Erm…'
It felt really good, like an itch being scratched but also was soft. That was until she decided to squish them a little too hard.
My ears spiked up and I tried to jump out of Nemuri's embrace.
"Oh? Where are you going?" She pulled me back in tightly. "You can't leave yet, I'll be careful."
—A little while later—
"I'm off Taka. Goodbye." She sat up and placed my down.
"Goodbye." I curled up into my blanket more since my radiator had just left.
Just as she opened the door she stopped and turned to look at me. "And what happened to you addressing me with the nickname you gave me?"
'I thought she forgot. Its okay. You can do this Takaba.'
"Bye bye, Nems."
'I can't do this.'
I immediately hid under the blanket regretting all my life choices.
My ears were met with laughter and the sound of the door closing.
—Takaba's birthday—
I woke up to see Nezu and Nemuri sitting in a chair beside my bed.
"Happy birthday!" They synchronised cheerfully. "Here's your present."
Nemuri then threw a small, sleek, black rectangular box at me. I held up my hand placed a portal onto it and one exit beside me allowing it to pass through and land softly upon the mattress.
"You trying to kill me or something?" I said while opening the box.
"Uh. April fools?" Nemuri replied.
"Is this a phone?" I said while taking out the thin but quite long object.
Nezu jumped in. "Yes it's the #####################. Newest model and mine and Midnight's contacts are already in it."
"They even started adding sentences into the names? Wow." I pressed a button on the side and it turned on.
"Your password is already set along with your Face ID and thumbprint." Nezu said while walking towards the door. "Come along, I have another surprise for you."
Me and Nemuri followed him out, not before I grabbed a hair brush and visited my domain to put my clothes on in peace. I exited the domain into Nezu's office where they came out of the elevator.
"Can I brush your hair later myself and you leave it for now Taka?" Nemuri leaned closer to take the brush.
"Sure. Also how did you set up Face ID and my thumbprint." I said giving Nemuri the brush and following Nezu out.
"You're forgetting we have a quirk that puts people to sleep Takaba." Nezu said a little bit too cheerfully.
"Ah, so we are drugging a minor again, how fantastic." I grumbled as Nemuri ruffled my hair.
A short walk later and we had made it to UA's entrance where two silhouettes waited.
"Hey there! Yamada, Aizawa!" Nemuri walked ahead to greet them.
I stopped with Nezu and let them talk. I couldn't hear Aizawa but I definitely heard Yamada say. "Yo!"
I watched them talk before Nemuri gestured towards me. Nezu pushed my back and when I looked at him he pointed towards the three and said. "Go on. They'll be new teachers soon."
I looked back at them and walked forward with Nezu trailing behind.
Yamada stretched out his hand and said. "Yo! I'm Yamada Hizashi aka Present MIC!"
I gave him a handshake and said. "Hi. I'm Takaba Kurusu." I gave him a short smile and turned towards Aizawa.
Yamada then started. "That guy there is Era-"
"Names Aizawa. Are you the kid Nemuri's been going on about for a month?" He said dryly while looking down at me.
"I sure hope not. But I probably am…" I said quite amused. I stretched out my hand this time and he gave me a handshake.
Yamada stood beside us with a dropped jaw, confused on why Aizawa had taken initiative when he usually lets Yamada introduce him.
(A/N: found out recently that Aizawa's favourite thing is canonically cats btw)
Nezu then walked forward. "Now you know each other let's get down to business."
Nezu then placed his hands together. "You might have heard on how Takaba here gets trained by UA teachers from time to time and so, Yamada, I would like for you to teach Takaba on how to socialise with others and hold back his power."
"Okay!" Yamada gave a big thumbs up.
"Aizawa I want you to let Takaba shadow you while you work once a week, every Saturday." Nezu stated.
"That's dangerous work for a 12 year old-." Aizawa immediately grimaced before Nezu cut in.
"Don't worry Aizawa, Takaba show him your quirk."
Everyone then looked at me.
I quickly slid into my domain then entered scout mode at the point I was previously standing on. I could clearly see the everyone from the pavement I was attached to. Aizawa's eyes glowed red but nothing happened.
I then heard Nezu say. "Now show us that you can hear and see us in that form Takaba." I connected the point to my domain and peeked my head through.
"I heard you. Can I come out now?" I was then suddenly pulled out by Nemuri but was not placed on the ground but rather her shoulders.
"Do you have to do this now?" I complained.
"Yes." She replied gravely.
Nezu then turned towards Aizawa. "You see, he's perfectly safe."
"I will allow it but he has to ensure he won't come out no matter what." Aizawa said. "Now that we are done here I'm going to go to sleep."
"Are you like me?" I gazed at him in wonder.
"What does that mean?" He looked up at me.
"You sleep a lot too?" I bent my head.
'I think I remember him showing up in a sleeping bag.'
"I guess you could say that." He replied while squinting his eyes.
"Ha! Then would you be interested in my state of the art sleeping bag?" I clasped my hands together.
Now curious Aizawa looked at me directly in the eyes. "Go on."
"I created my own sleeping bag that comes with foldability, heaters with settings, designed by me for comfort and it has a long lasting life span since it is very durable." I said happily.
"Let me test it out first."
I was already bringing one out a portal I had set on Nemuri's head. I quickly explained how the buttons worked and Aizawa climbed in and lied down.

Nezu broke the silence. "He fell asleep."
Yamada quickly woke him up.
Aizawa stood up straight. "How much for it."
"Well since I made it myself how about you'll owe me a favour." I scratched my chin.
Aizawa squinted skeptically before agreeing.
Nezu then led them away to show them the staff rooms.
Nemuri immediately took me from her shoulders and held me close. "Let's go to Nezu's office and brush your hair yeah?"
"Yeah." I muttered while leaning into the warmth.
"Hehehhe. So cute, doesn't this remind you of when we first met." Midnight happily strolled along the path.
"Yeah, and those other fifteen times you've done it."
"Heh."
