"It's great that the Main Body finally saw the light!" March 7th's eyes lit up instantly. Like a jubilant little sparrow, she hopped closer, her voice brimming with excitement and certainty. "Don't you worry—no matter what happens, Himeko and I will definitely settle it for you the moment anything goes wrong!"
"Mm."
Himeko didn't say much. She simply gave a soft hum of affirmation and leaned her body slightly closer to Su Mu.
Her silken hair brushed against Su Mu's shoulder, carrying a faint, pleasant fragrance. Her warmth radiated through the soft fabric of her clothes like a bundle of cozy cotton, bringing an immense sense of peace. She didn't need words; she used this silent intimacy to let Su Mu feel the full weight of her support.
Feeling the soft warmth beside him, the last shred of hesitation in Su Mu's heart vanished. He looked up, his tone a mix of testing the waters and newfound resolve. "Then... I'm really going to go take a look?"
"Go, go!" March 7th nodded vigorously, making a "charge" gesture with both hands at her sides. "If you run into people you don't want to deal with or things you don't want to handle, just summon us over immediately. Leave it all to us!"
Himeko maintained her smile, nodding slowly at Su Mu. Her eyes were filled with encouragement, as if saying—Don't worry, we have everything under control.
Seeing their sincere expressions, Su Mu took a deep breath and finally made his final decision. He straightened his back, preparing to take that first step into the unknown.
Only when he moved did he realize he hadn't yet tidied his clothes. His cheeks flushed slightly, and he quickly began to get ready.
A moment later, Su Mu changed into a set of clean, decent clothes. He ran his fingers over the hem to ensure everything was neat, and in the next second, his figure quietly vanished from the bedroom.
The dizziness of spatial distortion was fleeting. When it passed, his surroundings had completely transformed.
This is definitely not the world March 7th was in earlier. Su Mu looked up and confirmed this fact instantly.
What met his eyes were rows of modern-style buildings. Neat academic halls stood within his field of vision, their walls painted in clean, light tones. On the sports field, he could faintly see the white lines of the running tracks. The air was thick with the scent of fresh grass and the scholarly aroma of books... Clearly, he was currently inside a school.
Su Mu tilted his head slightly, his ears twitching.
His hearing, significantly enhanced by his level increases, acted like precision radar, capturing the sounds of the environment—the lighthearted chatter of students, the gentle instructions of teachers, the crisp sound of footsteps in the corridors, and even the faint clinking of glassware from a distant laboratory.
Countless fragments of information integrated rapidly in his mind. Soon, a key name was captured and repeated several times.
Fujimi Academy!
The name flashed through his mind like a bolt of lightning. Su Mu's pupils contracted slightly—wasn't this the school from Highschool of the Dead?
With that, the identity of this world became crystal clear.
He looked around the campus. Everything was in perfect order. Students walked in groups of two or three, their faces filled with the youthful vigor unique to teenagers. There was no sign of panic or terror. On the streets outside the school gates, traffic flowed smoothly and pedestrians hurried along; everything appeared peaceful and normal.
Su Mu understood. It seemed the plot hadn't officially begun yet. This was the calm before the storm.
As for whether this place was a parallel world similar to the one March 7th had entered, Su Mu couldn't be certain yet. However, based on previous experience, if it were a parallel world, he should have entered the same one March 7th did. The change was too obvious.
Now that the world had changed, it perhaps served as evidence for his earlier theory: The world a clone enters is a "Clone" world.
Su Mu slowed his pace, walking slowly along the corridor of the teaching building while discreetly scanning his surroundings.
Soon, several familiar figures entered his sight—the core protagonist group from Highschool of the Dead.
He stopped and watched them from a distance, making no move to strike up a conversation. After observing for a while longer and confirming there were no other anomalies on campus, Su Mu didn't linger. With a thought, his figure reappeared in his familiar bedroom.
This brief exploration had allowed him to fully grasp the essence of the Otherworld Exploration function—it was more like a pure "Gate" or "Passage." Its only job was to send him to different worlds; it provided no extra prompts or assistance.
However, the rules of his original world—killing targets grants experience and gold—still applied here.
This meant he essentially had an extra world—or even multiple worlds—of resources to use for increasing his own strength. This discovery made Su Mu's eyes brighten.
"Wow, Main Body, Main Body!" As soon as Su Mu's figure stabilized, March 7th rushed over, her tone full of triumph. "This world really is different from the last one! It looks like our guess was right!"
"The probability is high," Himeko added, walking over slowly. Her gaze rested on Su Mu, a meaningful smile playing on her lips. "Speaking of which, there are quite a few cute girls at Fujimi Academy. Did the Main Body not run into any just now? Not even a little interest?"
"Of course I have interest," Su Mu admitted frankly. His gaze swept over the two women beside him, his tone softening. "But since I have you two by my side now, there's no need to be in a rush."
"Exactly, exactly!" March 7th nodded vigorously, her face full of agreement. "There are so many useful things hidden in the Main Body's memories! Even if it's just Himeko-jie and me, we'll be fine!"
"Hehe, indeed." Himeko chuckled, her eyes teasing. "I suppose we've officially moved from being 'Theoreticals' to 'Practicals' now~"
"Alright, stop making fun of me." Su Mu shook his head helplessly, reaching out to gently tap March 7th's forehead. Then, as if remembering something, his expression shifted slightly. "Speaking of which, my talent level seems high enough to create another clone, and the gold I've saved up should be enough for a few more levels... But first, I'll buy you both some proper weapons."
"Yay!" March 7th's eyes sparkled as she nodded hard. "With weapons, we can save a lot of energy during combat since we won't have to materialize them from scratch!"
Himeko gave a soft nod, her smile gentle. "For me, a standard industrial saw would suffice for now. As for things like monomolecular saws or satellite support... I imagine the Main Body's current gold reserves can't quite afford those yet."
"I definitely can't afford those."
Su Mu smiled and nodded. He opened the Apartment Store and began rapidly filtering through the massive list of weapons.
In the end, the item he chose for March 7th was an ice-blue longbow.
