They moved with staggering speed. Their razor-sharp beaks and lethal talons glinted with a cold, deadly light under the sun, tearing through the air with ear-piercing shrieks.
"This time, it's real Inch Power." Fu Hua planted her feet firmly on the rooftop. She lowered her center of gravity, clenching her fists as she drew them slowly to her sides. Golden energy surged around her like a rising tide, converging into her knuckles. "Take this!"
"Inch Power: Thunderbolt!"
With a low shout, Fu Hua's fists thundered forward!
BOOM!!
Two dazzling orbs of gold and crimson light erupted from her fists like miniature suns. Carrying a world-ending momentum, they shot toward the two diving giant crows with pinpoint accuracy. The air along their trajectory twisted and warped from the intense heat, emitting a sharp sizzling sound.
CRASH!!
Two deafening explosions rang out almost simultaneously as the gold-red orbs slammed into the bodies of the giant Three-Legged Crows.
Violent energy erupted like a magnificent firework display in the high sky, dyeing the entire heavens in shades of gold and crimson. The giant crows didn't even have a chance to struggle before they were utterly consumed. Their massive bodies disintegrated inch by inch within the light, eventually turning into a flurry of black feathers and fine mist that drifted down like rain.
Only after the light had completely dissipated did the delayed notification panel finally appear before Su Mu.
[Killed C-Rank Monster [Giant Three-Legged Crow]. Obtained 1,004,855 Hunting EXP and 44,214 Gold Coins.]
[Detected: No tenants or employees participated in this hunt. Apartment Manager Su Mu receives all Hunting EXP and Gold Coins.]
[EXP requirements met. Apartment Manager level increased to Lv. 33.]
[Manager Permissions increased.]
[Due to the increase in Apartment Manager level, Apartment level has increased to Lv. 33.]
[Apartment floors have been increased and new functions have been unlocked.]
With this single wave of kills, the levels for both Su Mu and the Goddess Apartment skyrocketed by five, reaching Level 33 in one go.
The name in the notification also cleared up everyone's doubts—it turned out these three crows were indeed "Enhanced" versions. In the original series, the Three Crows were notorious "Demon-level disgraces," possessing pathetic combat strength. Now that they were enhanced, their size had increased dozens of times and their power was significantly higher. However, seeing how they were still swatted aside so easily, they probably still qualified as "Dragon-level disgraces."
As his thoughts churned, Su Mu swiped his fingers to pull up the Apartment Management Panel and his own Manager Permissions interface. A pale blue holographic screen unfolded before him, the soft light reflecting in his pensive eyes.
In the update column of the Apartment Panel, a brand-new function was particularly eye-catching: [Room Customization].
The description was concise: the style, color palette, furniture configuration, and even the fine details of a room could be fully customized according to the resident's wishes. More importantly, this function was entirely free for Su Mu, whereas tenants or employees would have to pay extra gold coins to use it.
Su Mu raised an eyebrow, thinking that this feature was quite practical—provided it was free, of course. With this, automated operations in his room became easy. For instance, if he wanted to draw the curtains to block out the sun or turn off all the lights before bed, he just had to "customize" the room's state to that specific look, removing the need to do it manually. This level of effortless convenience was a privilege reserved for the Manager. For tenants who had to pay, such customization would require careful consideration.
Shifting his gaze to the Manager Permissions panel, another new addition made his eyes light up: The Manager can store any item into any area of the apartment or retrieve any item from within the apartment at any time and from any location.
Su Mu carefully chewed on the words "at any time and from any location," a flash of understanding crossing his eyes. On the surface, this was just a permission to move items around. But with those words attached, the meaning changed entirely. It meant that even if he wasn't currently near the apartment—or even if he was in a distant otherworld—he could freely store or retrieve items from the building. In other words, this apartment had effectively become his personal, portable storage space.
"Wow, this permission is way too useful!" March 7th's crisp voice rang out first. She looked at Su Mu with sparkling eyes, her tone full of excitement. "That way, no one has to struggle with carrying weapons anymore. We can just pull them out of the apartment whenever we need them!"
Himeko leaned against the sofa and nodded elegantly, her legs crossed. Her tone held a hint of regret. "It is indeed convenient, though it's a bit limited—you can only store and retrieve items. It would be perfect if living beings could be accessed as well."
"Agreed." Fu Hua, who had returned to the living room, stood with her arms crossed. She nodded seriously and added matter-of-factly, "If it worked on living beings, then in the future, if the Main Body takes an interest in someone in another world, he could just pull them directly into the apartment. It would save a lot of trouble."
"..."
Su Mu's lips twitched slightly; for a moment, he didn't know how to respond. He knew all three of them were thinking of his benefit, but the idea of "pulling away" anyone he took an interest in was far too casual and went against his principles.
Just as he was about to argue, a cold system notification suddenly popped up in front of him, interrupting his thoughts.
[Detected: Two targets meeting the residency criteria are attempting to enter the apartment. Allow access?]
"...Eh?"
Su Mu's pupils contracted, and a look of visible surprise appeared on his face. He leaned back against the sofa, his brow furrowing. Given the current state of the surroundings, he had never expected a tenant who met the criteria to actively seek him out.
With a mix of curiosity and caution, Su Mu immediately used his Manager permissions to switch his view to the ground-floor entrance. The holographic screen flickered, clearly showing two disheveled figures.
One was a woman in a tattered coat, and the other was a girl who looked equally haggard; the two were supporting each other. The woman was trying to step into the apartment but was pushed back by an invisible, transparent barrier. She stumbled and nearly fell, quickly steadying herself with a look of desperation and helplessness in her eyes.
Although they looked like ordinary humans, Su Mu observed them carefully just to be safe. In this world, there was no shortage of monsters capable of taking human form. Of course, given the apartment's rental conditions, as long as the party could be considered a "beautiful girl" by the Manager, they technically met the requirements regardless of their species.
