"KRAAA—!"
The cry was coarse and manic, carrying a primordial savagery as if the creature were circling directly above the apartment.
Su Mu's brows knitted instantly. His newly relaxed body went rigid, the lingering lethargy vanishing from his face, replaced by a surge of irritation at being disturbed.
"Ugh, so annoying..."
He muttered under his breath, rubbing the bridge of his nose. He was about to toss back the covers and get up to investigate.
"I'll handle it."
Beside him, Fu Hua had already sat up. Not a trace of panic touched her clean, composed face; her tone was as calm as if she were discussing a mundane chore.
She reached out to gently press down March 7th, who was about to spring up, and used a glance to stop Himeko, who had already reached for her dress. Then, she turned to Su Mu, her gaze resolute. "Main Body, a set of clothes. Something suited for combat."
"Got it."
As Su Mu responded, his fingertips were already bringing up the virtual panel of the Apartment Store.
He scanned the options rapidly, eventually settling on a martial arts uniform dominated by deep azure. The fabric was a specialized, wear-resistant material capable of withstanding minor impacts. The cuffs and ankles were tapered for ease of movement.
The moment he confirmed the purchase, the outfit materialized, and Fu Hua quickly changed into it.
It was undeniably a perfect fit. The uniform complemented Fu Hua's naturally upright posture, making her look even more agile and sharp. This single set of clothes practically wiped out Su Mu's remaining few hundred gold coins.
"Let's all go out and see," Su Mu said, standing up as his eyes cleared.
Looking at his gold balance, which was now hovering near zero, he gave himself a mental wake-up call. He couldn't afford to stay decadent; earning gold had to be moved up the schedule. Otherwise, if another emergency happened, he wouldn't even have the money to buy clothes.
March 7th, unable to contain her curiosity, nodded immediately. "Let's go, let's go! I want to see what's out there screaming like a banshee!"
Himeko calmly picked up her weapon from the bedside and nodded. Fu Hua followed Su Mu's lead, a faint ripple of energy already beginning to condense around her, signaling she was ready for combat at a moment's notice.
The group dressed quickly and filed out of the bedroom. The moment they stepped into the living room, a heavy thud echoed from the direction of the floor-to-ceiling window.
THUMP!
It sounded like a heavy object had slammed violently against the glass, making the window frame vibrate. The curtains, which March 7th had pulled shut earlier, blocked the view, but a massive shadow could be seen shifting behind the fabric.
Almost at the exact moment of the impact, Fu Hua's silhouette blurred into an afterimage, reaching the curtains instantly.
Without a shred of hesitation, she flicked her wrists, her palms carrying the force of a gusting wind as she yanked the heavy curtains aside. Had she been a second later, they might have missed seeing what was outside.
The moment the curtains parted, all four pairs of eyes locked onto the window. A giant black bird, large enough to obscure most of their field of vision, was pressed against the glass.
It was a monster that resembled a crow but was hundreds of times larger than any ordinary bird. It stood dozens of meters tall, its massive frame taking up nearly half the street outside the apartment.
Its body was covered in oil-slick, jet-black feathers, each one gleaming with a cold light like a razor blade. It had a sharp, hooked beak of deep obsidian, with strands of unidentified saliva clinging to the edges—a revolting sight. Its crimson eyes glowed like ghost fire, staring fixedly at the people inside with a heart-stopping, eerie light.
The most bizarre part was its anatomy—unlike a normal crow with two legs, this monster possessed three thick, black legs bulging with knotted veins. Even more hair-raising were the muscular human arms extending from beneath its wings; the skin was a sickly ashen gray, with thick fingers and nails as sharp as talons.
The grotesque fusion of avian torso and human limbs made every movement seem jarringly discordant, yet it radiated an undeniable, crushing sense of power.
"Is that... a Three Crow-Feathered Crow?" March 7th's eyes widened, her voice filled with a mix of surprise and doubt. "Wait, that's not right. Weren't the Three Crows in the original story smaller than that? And why is there only one?"
Having used the 170,000-Year-Old Cicada as a reference, she immediately recognized this Mysterious Being from One Punch Man.
In that moment, Fu Hua's concern became reality.
[Detected: The Goddess Apartment, where the Manager is located, is under external attack. To ensure the safety of the Manager and all tenants, a counterattack is commencing.]
SPLAT!
The moment the notification chime faded, a semi-transparent giant hand of energy manifested behind the crow. With the force of a thunderbolt, it slammed into the giant crow pinned against the window.
The crow didn't even have time to let out a second shriek before it was pulverized.
With a muffled squelch, black feathers, crimson flesh, and dark green viscera splattered across the glass, turning into a blurred smear of meat paste.
Immediately after, the energy hand contracted slightly, generating a powerful suction that pulled away every bloodstain, scrap of meat, and stray feather, leaving not a single trace behind. The window became pristine and transparent once more, as if the bloody execution had never occurred.
However, Su Mu's brow twitched. He felt a sliver of doubt because, according to previous experience, a system notification should have appeared immediately after a kill. Yet, his mind remained silent.
In the next second, two even sharper shrieks filled with obvious rage drifted down from the sky, dispelling his doubts.
"KRAAA—!"
"KRAAA—!"
Everyone looked up to see two more giant Three Crows, identical to the first, circling above the apartment. Their crimson eyes were fixed on the building below; they had clearly witnessed the slaughter of their companion.
Perhaps intimidated by the sudden appearance of the energy hand, they merely circled and shrieked from on high, not daring to dive down recklessly.
"I knew it! The Three Crows have to come in a set of three!" March 7th clapped her hands, her tone filled with the conviction of being proven right.
"Leave it to me."
Fu Hua's voice remained calm, but it carried an unquestionable power.
The moment the words left her mouth, her figure vanished from the living room, reappearing on the rooftop of the apartment. She stood at the edge of the roof, her clothes snapping in the high-altitude wind. Her icy gaze locked onto the two monsters in the sky.
Seeing Fu Hua appear of her own volition, the two giant Three Crows were utterly incited. Without further hesitation, they beat their wings violently, diving toward the rooftop from the left and right with the howling sound of the wind.
