Kine was the only one Di could see. The lights turned with a round of applause. Their stare broke. Teary eyes of Di glimmered. Kine consoled him and gave him a light hug.
Kine : I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you at all.
Di (sobs) : No I'm just overwhelmed (Kine wipes his tears), I've never celebrated my birthday like this.
From the background : Why so emotional!?, let's get this party started!!
Everybody looks in the direction of the voice
Kine (whispers to Ms. Fervor) : Why is he here? Didn't we agree not to bring this drunkard here? What if he ruins everything? Why didn't you temme?
Fervor (whispers back) : Actually tried not to tell him but he's the lab in-charge, he knew all along. But he promised us he wouldn't bring any alcohol here.
Anyway the party continued.
Mr. Henry, the lab in-charge (to himself) : I promised to not bring but when did I say I wouldn't prepare it here in the Lab. (Smirks)
After an hour, everybody was tired of dancing and decided to play a game of Truth and Dare. Everybody picked up their glasses of cold drink and unknowingly Di picked the wrong one. The cold drink bottle was spun. After a few rounds of question giggling and laughs it was finally Kine's turn
Ms. Fervor (hurriedly) : Move move I'll ask so, my question is, You've a crush on someone in the school, isn't it? Tell us who it is.
Kine looks at Di with side eyes and notices he is also staring at him
After a smirk, he says,
Kine : I choose to drink
Fervor : Bottoms up, it's just a cold drink anyway.
The next couple of rounds it was not at all interesting. Finally it landed on Di
Ms. Fervor: So birthday boy, shall we punish you or shall we spare you?!
Di : Anything works for me (smiles)
Ms. Fervor: truth or dare?
Di : Dare, There's nothing interesting about me to know anyway.
Fervor : okay....then, how about you do the pocky challenge with the one beside you.
Di (flustered) (in his mind) : Really, do you? I really have to do it with this guy. I don't have any prob but still (looks at Kine)
Fervor : (snaps her fingers) Done thinking whom to, Mr. Kinematics or Ms. Sushimi
Di : I think I will... (looks his either sides, Kine who is eager that he'll be chosen, Ms. Sushimi least bothered) Drink for everyone's sake
Picks up his glass but is stopped by Mr. Henry
Mr. Henry : Why don't you drink this one, that flavour might not taste good.
Mr. Henry realised a few moments ago that his drink had been exchanged with Di's so he did so but of course everyone especially Kine is suspicious of him so he encouraged Di to drink his own and pay no attention to him. Di clueless does as he is told to. A few moments later,
Di : I'll be back in a while (leaves a bit wobbly Kine follows)
In the restroom,
Kine : You okay
Di : I don't know my head feels a bit heavy and....(He faints)
Kine : Di!? Wake up what happened to you?
Henry enters
Henry : He has drank Vodka
Kine : You bastard, how dare you!
Henry : What I prepared for myself, what do I do? Didn't I stop you all a while ago?
Kine (worried) : When will he wake up then?!
Henry : It depends on how much alcohol his body can handle. Maybe he'll get up tomorrow. Don't worry he'll be okay by today if he isn't a light drinker.
Di, who laid on the restroom floor in Kine's lap moved a bit but wasn't fully conscious. Suddenly his phone rang, it was Riva
Riva : When are you coming back home? It's already past 7. Mom and dad will be back by 8. Come soon. What happened?
Kine (answers) : Hi I'm his friend, Di passed out a few moments ago.
Riva : How?
Kine : Don't worry I'll bring him back home.
At Di's home,
Riva : Friend? How come he never told me about it
There's a car honk, Riva runs to the door and sees Kine holding Di on his back.
Kine : (careful enough lays Di on his bed) Alright. I'm leaving him to you then.
Riva (jealous) : Di shares every bit of his life with me but never mentioned you. Do you know why?
Kine : Ask him when he gets up.
Riva : Seems like you're pretty close to him, you didn't even ask me his address. Have you been here before?
Kine : The thing is....
Di asks for water in his unconsciousness, though Riva tries to but Kine takes the glass himself to feed Di. Riva was a bit surprised by their closeness. After all of this Riva warns Kine
Riva (serious) : If you have any intention of hurting him drop it already.
Kine : I...
Riva's phone rings
Riva (answers) : Hello, Yeah mom, yeah he's home and is sleeping right now.
Kine : I'll leave then.
Riva : Hey wait up won't you answer me?
Kine : Not today, let's keep it for some other day. (And leaves)
Riva stood there surprised and jealous of Kine. Di's parents are back a few minutes later
Di's mother (keeping her bag down) : When did he return?
Riva (lies) : Like one and a half hours ago.
Di's mother nods, looks at the wall clock on the wall and goes to her room. Inside Di's mother's room,
Di's mother (on phone) : Yeah, send the footage to me since last Saturday.....
