In the city of Crystallis one of the largest of all the cities on the great Planet Helios was the famous Kosovich Corporation or Koso-Corp for short. A company
that was founded by a family descended from wealthy Russian nobility some say
they have links to the old Russian Tsars both Rurikids and the Romanovs alike. It
was founded by the great-great grandfather of the current owner the first named
Vladimir in the family; Vladimir Kosovich I he was succeeded by Vladimir
Kosovich II and then Vladimir III and finally the father of the current owner the
late Vladimir IV and finally the current owner the young Vladimir Kosovich V
who was only 21 years old. His father died when he was only 8 years old and the
company was controlled by a Board of Directors as a sort of Corporate Regency
until the boy had turned 18 years ago where at the point the young Vladimir
Kosovich V became the sole owner of the company and the vast empire it
controlled. The boy was educated in every subject imaginable; Science,
Philosophy, History, Economics, etc. The boy had a vast library in his home that
included over 18,000 books not including the 400 volumes of history and other
fields of study in his massive collection he was highly educated with an IQ of 192.
By all metrics the boy was as affluent as it gets, but the old saying rings true here
than money cannot buy happiness. Vladimir Kosovich loved his father but
following his death he was taken care of by a group of care takers who were mostly indifferent to his plight many of whom were already quite wealthy and had no need
to suck up to the boy or his father.
In the years following his father's death beyond
his schooling he educated himself in many fields and was appalled to discover the
injustices that seemed to always plague this world. He learned of the wars,
famines, plagues, disease and wanted to make the world a better place. He
reasoned the only way to do this was to become nothing less than a God and he
was prepared to do this. He wanted a famous relic known as the Book of the Dead
to help the people of his world he called in his mercenary a Ninja from a long line
of Japanese Ninjas going back to the Feudal Era in Japan named Zengi who was a
hired assassin to help him kill Daniel the Gate Keeper who according to an ancient
prophecy was the only living threat to the Book of the Dead and its great potential
gift of saving the mortal world from itself. Vladimir Kosovich agreed to give Zengi
the Ninja more money than he knew what to do with and so Zengi agreed to kill
the young Elf. Zengi who was of Japanese heritage and a Human like Vladimir had
killed countless individuals across the Planet Helios over his 20 plus year career
including fellows Humans, as well as Dwarves, Elves etc. It didn't matter a target
was a target Zengi hated no person he did this out of his love of wealth and sense
of duty as a descendant of great Ninjas, nothing more nothing less.
After agreeing
to do this Zengi left to kill the young Elf boy, Vladimir had explained that he
learned through his sources that the Elf had a magical sword this of course being the famed Spirit Blade and if he focused his Chi on a powerful relic, he would be
able to find it. Zengi did just that and by knowing the information and focusing his
Chi was able to find it. Zengi had never let a kill get away and this wasn't going to
the best first time either, in a flash the Ninja was off. A small worm whispered in
Vladimir's ear. "The Ninja is skilled but remember we're dealing with the
Gate-Keeper here you shouldn't be so confident in his skills alone." Said the worm.
"You forget old friend I have a contingency plan. You are the one that introduced
me to him after all that Malum character. If the ninja fails than Malum will put the
poor fool out of his misery. Malum had some time to grow more powerful like you
said so he should have grown powerful enough to kill the Elf by now if Zengi fails.
We can't have any loose ends this must all go perfectly." Said Vladimir. "Very
good. I should have not underestimated you." Said the worm. "No worries there's
no harm in making sure. It's just good that all the pieces are coming together. Soon
we'll have the brave new world that I and countless others have dreamed of." Said
Vladimir. The Ninja Zengi was lightning fast he was able to even break the Sound
Barrier and it his best he couldn't even be seen with the naked eye. He was on the
tail headed towards Merlin's hideout while Malum followed close behind the Ninja
just in case he failed.
