Chapter 133 - 133

"Then what? You should at least describe to me what that monster looks like?" Eddie nodded, his expression indifferent.

"It's William! William Birkin, his right arm became very large, and there was an incredibly huge eye on his arm that could look at people. Being seen by him was like being targeted by a malevolent ghost." Brian was somewhat incoherent; it was clear he was also terrified.

"I need to look at the data to see why he became like this, and then I can figure out how to solve this problem," Eddie said nonchalantly, looking around.

There was a table in the room, where Katherine should have been lying, made into a specimen, but times have changed, old man! Katherine had already become Eddie's employee and was currently with Jill, waiting to be transferred.

"You must save me, or I'll expose everything between us!" Brian said with a twisted expression.

"I'm already trying to figure it out. Since William Birkin came for you, he definitely won't come for you again. I need to go to Raccoon City's Memorial Hospital to find an antidote; they must have a solution there. You go first; you have the monster's scent on you, so the zombies shouldn't attack you." Eddie analyzed it carefully.

"Okay, I'll go first, but you must hurry over." Brian was still able to move, limping out of the orphanage. There were no zombies on the road, so the theory that zombies wouldn't attack G-Monsters didn't apply.

After Brian left, Claire asked curiously, "Eddie, what was that about you cooperating with him? My brother always spoke ill of Brian, saying he was a corrupt official every time we talked."

"When I was still working for Umbrella, I knew he was covering up Umbrella's inhumane experiments. At that time, I had no choice and was powerless."

"After forming my new company, I made a deal with Umbrella. I was responsible for completing the data for one of their projects. I didn't know what it was then, probably some kind of rapid recovery agent, but later I found out it was the T-Virus that caused this tragedy," Eddie said calmly.

Claire suddenly lowered her head, "I'm sorry, I misunderstood you. You're not as bad as I thought. You're not a hero, but you're my friend."

"Friend? I'm afraid I, a bad guy, will drag you down," Eddie scoffed, deliberately playing the victim to gain Claire's sympathy.

Chapter 223: Aunt Wang Gets Jealous

Claire generously gave Eddie a hug and smiled sweetly, "Don't worry, everything will be alright. I believe in you. Everyone has an unknown past, as long as you can face yourself. While I was waiting at the precinct, I heard that you produced many vaccines and shared them, even losing money yourself. You're amazing."

Ada scoffed internally. Eddie was not a good person; he was more of a true scumbag, sometimes despicable and shameless, which was both infuriating and amusing.

"Thanks, we can leave now. Don't worry about Brian; he's a goner. That idiot, he was clearly parasitized by a G-Monster larva from William. Have you seen Alien? An incomplete G-Monster will burst through his flesh." Eddie sneered.

"Sounds a bit disgusting," Ada raised an eyebrow. "So, did you get a sample of the G-Virus?"

"No, but if we can defeat that monster, we should be able to extract some samples. I just don't recommend doing that; facing that monster, not everyone can leave alive. He didn't kill Brian; it's just the virus's desire to reproduce at play," Eddie explained.

"You certainly know a lot! I have something else to do, so I'll be leaving now. Talk later." Ada waved her hand and left again in her high heels, seemingly resuming her role as the cold and alluring spy, completely using and running, without any lingering attachment.

In the southwest of Raccoon City, there was a large prison, Douglas Prison, where a large number of death row inmates were held. After the city was occupied by zombies, mutations also occurred here. Anyone who drank water from the Raccoon City dam would be infected to varying degrees, depending on their physical constitution.

Umbrella's senior research director, Daniel, was conducting an experiment in the prison, transforming the massive prison into a dangerous facility to test the newly developed T-Phobos Virus. This project was originally overseen by Alex, but after Alex went into hibernation, it was handed over to Daniel.

The awakened Alex was busy with other matters and didn't care about this T-Phobos Virus; in her opinion, it was completely meaningless. It was better to research a serum for submission to continue deceiving Spencer out of resources.

Although many prisoners succumbed to the toxicity and died, many still survived. The surviving prisoners had to pass through a series of checkpoints before they could leave the prison and gain freedom.

Raccoon City had fallen into chaos, which allowed Daniel to boldly use it as a testing ground. Even the federal military, which had acquired the Thanatos Tyrant, treated this place as an experimental site, intensifying efforts to collect resources and evidence, eventually planning to implement a nuclear strike.

"Minister, someone is here to see you. It's someone from the Federal Family," an assistant stepped forward and said.

Daniel was observing the monitors. "Hmm, tell him to wait for me in the conference room."

Upon arriving at the conference room, a man with an ugly appearance said, "Hello, Mr. Daniel, I am Shadkar, a member of the family organization. I represent my master Simmons in extending a sincere invitation for you to join our research team."

"Heh heh, why should I abandon my position at Umbrella and join you?" Daniel sneered.

"Don't you understand? Umbrella is finished. The current situation was all caused by Umbrella. After this incident, Umbrella's assets will be frozen, and Spencer will be put on trial. Even if Umbrella is wealthy, don't forget, public opinion is not on their side!" Shadkar said neither humbly nor arrogantly.

Daniel was still deep in thought. As a high-ranking official, he naturally knew that the other party was not lying. After this frenzy, Umbrella would definitely gradually decline.

Seeing the other party in thought, Shadkar continued, "My master has a lot of influence in the federation, and our research team has just been established, so we desperately need a lot of talent. If you join early, you can not only get a very high position but also complete your research. With my master's protection, you don't need to worry about any problems."

"Give me the phone; I want to talk to Simmons personally." Daniel did not refuse, but he wanted more.

Leaving the orphanage, Eddie took the two women back to the streets near the precinct. Kendo's gun shop was nearby, and he needed to find Emma and Moira!

Driving to Ennerdale Street, there were many abandoned vehicles, and the road was blocked again.

"We'll have to walk from here, ladies," Eddie said as he got out of the car, kicking away a zombie that approached him.

Abandoned vehicles, a light rain falling from the sky, blood everywhere—it had devolved into this state in just a few short hours, truly terrifying.

Unlike other places, there were quite a few gun shops here, so gunshots could be heard sporadically on the streets.

There were still many survivors nearby, and in front, a large number of Umbrella Disaster Response Units could be seen eliminating zombies.

"Are you alive? If so, make a sound, otherwise, we'll treat you as monsters," said a man with a very strange, loose hairstyle.

"Bu Jingyun?" Eddie asked, puzzled.

"What Bu Jingyun? My name is Carlos. It seems you are still alive. Buddy, you're pretty lucky to have two beautiful women with you; it'll make the escape less tiring." Carlos walked over and laughed.

"I'm Eddie, a medic from the Raccoon City precinct. What are you doing here? Is your captain Mikhail?" Eddie asked.

"You know my captain? Yes, his name is Mikhail." Carlos nodded; there was nothing to deny. "We're assisting your precinct in evacuating civilians."

"Well, I wish you good luck. I have things to do. See you next time." Eddie waved his hand. With him around, Jill wouldn't need Carlos.

After Eddie left, a Black man guided nearby residents into the subway station for shelter. "Hey, Carlos, don't just stand there; we're busy."

"It's nothing, just saw a strange officer. Let's go, I need to finish this damn job and then go to a bar to relax." Carlos picked up his submachine gun and shot the nearby zombies.

The subway here led to Raccoon City's most famous landmark, the Clock Tower! There was a large platform on the Clock Tower that could serve as an airport for helicopters. It was said that there was also a restaurant in the Clock Tower, but unfortunately, no customers could go there to dine now.

Chapter 224: Beautiful Emma's New Weapon

"Those guys belong to the Biohazard Response Unit. They're essentially outsourced, made up of death row inmates, mercenaries, and retired soldiers, paid to eliminate disasters. Most of them are innocent; only a few are Umbrella employees. There's no need for too much contact; we just need to do our own thing," Eddie explained.

"You know so much," Claire also smiled. She didn't care; she only cared if the other person was a good person, and that was enough.

"He certainly knows a lot; you'll find out later," Svetlana also praised. At least Eddie wasn't the most handsome she'd ever seen, nor the smartest, but he was the most captivating to men.

Continuing forward, they gradually arrived at Kendo's gun shop. There were no zombies nearby, and a figure flashed by—it was Kendo, holding a shotgun!

"Hey, Kendo, I'm here to pick up Emma. What happened to her? She didn't answer her phone," Eddie asked eagerly.

Kendo nodded and patted Eddie's shoulder, looking like a father-in-law eyeing his son-in-law. "You're not bad, kid. You still came to find Emma in such a dangerous time. Since you care about her so much, I'm relieved to entrust her to you."

What was all this about? It was just an employment relationship; was it necessary to say all that… stuff?

"Cough, cough, Kendo, are you starving? What are you talking about? I have no idea what you're saying." Eddie coughed a few times to ease the awkwardness.

"Kendo, this is Claire, Chris's sister. And that's Svetlana, my bodyguard." Eddie gave a simple introduction.

"I know, I know. Chris often boasts to me about how amazing his sister is; she seems pretty good now. Emma is in the gun room downstairs. She said she's developing a small, high-powered pistol for you to defend yourself with. See how good my daughter is to you? If you betray her, watch out, I'll hit you with a hammer." Kendo picked up a hammer and gestured a few times.
