Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Votes, vibes and unwanted entries

Jay's POV

"Okay listen," Felix slammed his hand on the desk dramatically, "this trip will DEFINE our lives."

David deadpanned, "It's a 3-day school trip, not a movie."

Cin flipped his hair. "Beach. Final."

Calix shook his head. "Mountains are better."

I leaned back in my chair, watching them argue like it was a world war.

Keifer leaned toward me. "And you?"

"Hmm…" I tapped my chin. "Depends."

"On?"

"Who I'm stuck with."

He smirked. "Oh? So if it's me—?"

I cut him off, leaning closer. "Then maybe I'll consider."

Felix gasped loudly. "THE FLIRTING AGAIN—"

"SHUT UP, FELIX," we both said at the same time.

Cin grinned. "You guys are getting bold."

I shrugged. "We're just… talking."

David raised an eyebrow. "Talking doesn't include eye contact like that."

I looked away instantly.

"Next topic," I muttered.

Keifer's POV

Voting sheets were passed around.

Felix whispered, "Write beach."

Calix whispered from the other side, "Mountains."

David: "Make a rational decision."

Cin: "Beach."

Jay looked at me.

I leaned in. "Mountains. Less crowd. More privacy."

She paused.

"…Privacy?"

I smirked. "For peaceful walks. What did you think?"

She kicked my leg. "Shut up."

But she was smiling.

Jay's POV

After submitting the sheet, I stretched. "Done."

"Same," Cin said. "If mountains win, I'm blaming you all."

Felix crossed his fingers. "Beach supremacy."

Suddenly—

The classroom door opened.

And everything went quiet.

Yuri.

He walked in like he owned the place.

My stomach dropped.

Flashback.

Blood.

I stiffened.

Keifer noticed immediately. His hand moved slightly, almost touching mine… but not fully.

Grounding me without making it obvious.

Yuri's eyes scanned the room… and then stopped on us.

For a second—

It felt like he knew.

He smirked faintly and walked to the back like nothing happened.

Felix whispered, "Why does he always enter like a villain?"

David muttered, "Because something's off about him."

Cin nodded. "I don't like his vibe."

I stayed quiet.

Keifer leaned closer, voice low. "You okay?"

I nodded… but not fully.

"…Yeah."

Lie.

Keifer's POV

Jay wasn't okay.

I could tell.

Her fingers were slightly trembling.

I clenched my jaw.

Yuri.

I don't trust him.

At all.

"Hey," I whispered softly, "focus on me."

She looked at me.

"Trip, remember? We're going."

She gave a small nod.

"Yeah…"

To distract her, I added, "Also, you still owe me something."

She frowned. "What?"

I leaned closer. "You never properly finished your confession."

Her eyes widened slightly. "I did."

"No," I whispered, "you skipped it."

She smirked suddenly.

Oh.

That look.

Danger.

Jay's POV

"Oh really?" I leaned closer.

"Yeah."

"Then listen carefully."

I moved closer to his ear and whispered, "I like you."

Simple.

Clear.

His breath hitched.

Before he could react—

I pulled back and sat straight like nothing happened.

Cin stared at me. "What did you say—"

"Nothing."

Felix narrowed his eyes. "Suspicious."

Keifer was still frozen.

David smirked. "He's gone."

Calix added, "System crash."

I bit my lip to stop laughing.

Keifer's POV

She said it.

She actually said it.

I turned to her slowly. "Jay…"

She looked innocent. "Hmm?"

I leaned closer. "You don't get to drop that and act normal."

She shrugged. "Watch me."

Nope.

Not happening.

I gently grabbed her wrist and pulled her slightly closer.

"Then listen carefully too," I whispered.

Before she could react—

I kissed her.

Quick.

But enough to make her freeze.

Felix: "I SAW THAT—"

Cin covered his mouth. "SHUT UP."

Jay looked at me, shocked… then annoyed… then smiling.

"Keifer—"

"Equal response," I said.

Jay's POV

Okay.

That was unexpected.

But not unwelcome.

I looked away, trying to hide my smile.

But then—

I felt it again.

That stare.

I turned slightly.

Yuri.

Watching.

Not smiling this time.

Just… observing.

Something about it felt wrong.

Very wrong.

Announcement Speaker

"Attention students, voting results will be announced tomorrow."

Felix: "If it's not beach, I'm protesting."

David: "Sit down."

Calix: "This trip is going to be… interesting."

Cin grinned. "Especially for THESE TWO."

I rolled my eyes. "Ignore her."

Keifer whispered, "Impossible."

Keifer's POV

Trip.

Confession.

Jay.

And Yuri.

Something tells me—

This trip isn't going to be as simple as we think.

End.
