Chapter 20 - Get Up

The commotion coming from the gym storage room wasn't subtle at all. A huge part of me just wanted to leave all this behind and just go home with Darius. I never signed up to save anyone and I don't really intend on being a martyr.

Yet here I was... martyring.

I wonder if I'm really dumb or just have a death wish.

Someone was clearly getting beat up in there, I could hear stuff being knocked around pretty viscously. "Dammit stay down! Why're you trying to fight back?!" I knew that gruff smoker voice anywhere.

Helen.

"It's always little bitches like you who think they can be some activist without consequences! You should've just kept fucking quiet!" Helen snapped as I heard another crash. "I want to kill you! From today on I'm pairing you with that stupid bitch Melody and turn everyday of your life into hell!"

Oh hell no. I don't need Pinky sticking to me suddenly.

I kicked the door open.

Helen was standing over a beat-up looking pink bob, surprised that I even showed up here. "What are you doing?" I asked.

"Oh, it's just you," Helen chuckled. I noticed her back brace was back on which meant she was already weak, just big. "What? You got something to say?"

"Yeah, I got something to say. It's funny to get beat up by a fatass who only relies on her badly built body to bully people," I taunted her.

Shut up Melody!

Why are you poking the bear?!

Helen went red with rage. "What kind of nonsense-"

"What? You only cornered that weakling because you wanted to drag me out for a rematch, am I wrong?" I asked. "What a weak bitch move."

I saw pink bob spit up a bit of blood.

Kill her!

Rip her throat out!

Tear her limbs apart!

Devour her!

"I'll take care of you bitch!" Helen raged. I got the sudden urge to flee as one does when a big truck is coming towards them.

Helen lunged at me at her full speed, which looked slower than before. She may be the leader in the sense she makes people follow her out of fear, but really it's just about her size. She couldn't move like me.

I sidestepped and punched her in the face, making her stumble back holding her nose. "Wow, I think you've lost your touch?" I commented. She didn't, that punch hurt like hell and Helen is honestly scarier when she's close up.

"SHUT UP!!! Just because you combed your hair and learned to fight doesn't make you shit!" Helen snapped.

Helen rushed me again to tackle me and succeeded. We rolled on the floor as she tried to get the better of me but it was like we were matched in strength. I broke free and stood up making a mental note not to fall over again, Helen was in fact a very talented wrestler.

Helen punched me square in the face with such force I stumbled a bit but quickly got my ground back.

I kicked her in the stomach before she could throw a second punch. A trickle of blood had escaped my nose, and Helen doubled over and wiped her own with her hand, smearing it on her cheek rather then wiping it away.

"That's not how you fight someone, dickhead." I said, and neatly moved away from Helen's sloppy attempt at a hit back falling to one knee. "You have to wait for someone to say go." I smashed my elbow over her head as she tried to get back up. I must have knocked her off balance because she fell down and landed on the ground.

I stopped and let her get up. For what reason I'm not sure.

Kill her now!

When Helen charged at me, angry and yelling, but slow, I simply stepped to the side, and twisted around in time to grab her fist before she could delivered another blow onto my face, and twisted her hand fiercely, as Helen's face twisted in pain.

I released her hand only to use my knee to jab Helen in the stomach. She staggered backwards, and I kicked her in the shins, and she fell again trying to bring me down with her but failing. "Get up." I demanded.

She did and threw a punch in my direction. She got a hit, but I managed to punch her right back, and Helen's nose cracked. I hit her again, this time in the chest. She staggered backwards, and I lent over to punch her in the jaw, twice.

Helen fell again, this time her cry was in pain.

Rip her throat out!

She's down!

Flesh!

"Get up." I demanded again.

"You win, Melody, you win!" She pleaded.

"I told you to get up." I said, my voice was softer than I wanted it to be.

Helen looked at me with desperate eyes.

I drove my foot into her stomach. "What part of get up don't you understand?" I asked, grabbing Helen by the back of the shirt and dragging her up to look me in the face.

"Stop!" She begged. I can't!

"How many times did you stop, because someone asked you?"

I threw her aside with a strength I had no idea the source of.

Helen, by some miracle managed to get to her feet, only for me to punch her in the face and send her sprawling back to the ground.

"Get up." I said.

Helen groaned and refused to get up. I stomped on her hand and heard her fingers crack. "Get up! Get up."

Helen shook her head no, and actually started crying. I didn't care. I wanted so badly to tear her head from her body. I grabbed Helen by the shirt front and punched her square in the face, one more time. I threw her to the ground. I squatted down next to her thinking about how I'll send her home in a box.

I needed to go overboard.

Drain her!

Kill her!

Destroy her!

"It's not fun when people fight back, is it?" I asked at Helen, who was sobbing and shaking her head. "It's not fun when they don't stop is it? I swear that if you keep on trying me, then I will break more than your hand or back. I will ruin you. do you understand me?" Helen didn't respond so i tired again. "DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?" I shouted.

Sobbing, Helen answered me. "You're a monster."

Ugh... damn dream. The fog was lifting rapidly letting me think clearly about what I was doing. Shit! "What was that?!"

"I'm sorry!" Helen sobbed loudly.

"Woah!" My head snapped towards the door seeing a crowd of absolutely fascinated students. The feeling of wanting to kill was fully gone now along with the voice riling me up.

Fuck!

I turned to Pinky and helped her to her feet.
