The air went cold suddenly and not from the hospitals air conditioning. "You did very well." Darius's voice purred in my ear as he materialized out of the corner of my eye making me jump. "He most definitely suffered. And he felt nothing but pain and agony until the end. I'd say this will be the first high quality meal I've had in a few months."
As he spoke the white hospital walls around us seemed to dissolve and were replaced by an impenetrable darkness. I could still see but it felt like time had stopped itself in the room.
Then the feeling hit me all at once, A wave of pure, unadulterated euphoria washed over me, so potent and absolute it blurred my vision. It was satisfaction so satisfying, I almost slumped out of the chair. The rush was incredible, a dizzying, heady surge of power that made my blood sizzle.
