Remember when you were a kid and your biggest worry was, like, if you'd get a bike for your birthday, or if you get to eat cookies for breakfast. Being an adult? Totally overrated. I mean, seriously, don't be fooled by all the hot shoes and the great sex and the no parents anywhere telling you to do. Adulthood is responsibility. Responsibility, it really does suck. Really, really sucks. Eddie Sousa is many things: A genius. A doctor. A surgical intern at one of the best hospitals in the nation at only twenty. And a mother to be. What Eddie Sousa wasn't was a girl who wanted to rip off some judgy lady's head off her neck when she stopped by her favorite coffee cart on the way into the hospital for her shift. She blamed it on the fact that her mother had decided to pop her head out of her hole, and say under no curtain circumstances was she going to be a grandmother . She claimed she was to young, only in her forties, Eddie could understand that, but then she went on about the fact Eddie shouldn't call if she needed anything. This was her responsibility and she wouldn't clean up after her mistakes. Her mom saw her as the family screw up. She was the unwanted stain in her family. She would never be good enough, smart enough, or accommodating enough to them. Hell, her mom and Step-Stan treated her like she was the one who threw wild parties and ruined their house (that was Amelia), or crashed Step-Stan's brand new luxury car days after he brought it home (that was Beth), or skipped school and got caught making out with a boy three years older than me with alcohol (that was Cece shortly before Eddie moved), or was the one who rained holy terror on the house and broke things in fits of rage (that was Daphne). But, to her mother, Eddie was the devil, and her sisters were the perfect angles and no one could convince her or Step-Stan differently. But, back to the judgmental woman looking pointedly at the small bump Eddie now sported. Eddie had a tiny bump now, almost hardly noticeable when she was in looser clothing or her scrubs. But, judging by the look she was receiving from one of the woman waiting for her order, she could tell. Eddie was wearing a tighter old Yale t-shirt, hoodie, and jeans, and she supposed you could see a bump if you looked closely at her profile. "Such a shame." The woman tutted while looking at Eddie up and down, "so young." Eddie bit her tongue and ignored the woman hoping she'd go away. She had to be an adult. She didn't have the luxury of laying into the woman like she so badly wanted to. She had known logically she may be getting this response. She was young looking, well, she was twenty, but looked like she could pass for sixteen or seventeen, she was starting to look pregnant instead of it looking like she gained a few extra pounds; with her tight t-shirt it was undeniable, and no ring on her finger could send any old lady or stuck up, pretentious woman into a tizzy. "Excuse me dear," The woman said, and Eddie pointedly ignored her. "It is rude not to respond when someone is speaking to you." "Oh, I am sorry, I was told never to talk to strangers." Eddie said as she took the chai latte from Artie, the regular barista. "Thanks Artie." "No problem Dr. Sousa. " Artie said, making sure the words Dr. Sousa were able to be heard clearly, and the sour look the woman had giving her turned to shock. It was like she short circuited and was frozen in place. Eddie gave the woman a smile. "Excuse me ma'am. Don't want to be late. Lives to save an all that." "Of course." The woman said quickly scrambling away. "What was that about?" Izzie asked as she and George joined Eddie on either side of her. "Judgmental woman." Eddie said with a shrug, as Izzy nodded as the three made their way into the hospital. "So, you're coming to the party tonight right?" Izzie asked the youngest intern. Eddie bite her lip. While she did enjoy a good party, and she didn't (and shouldn't because of her age and pregnancy) need to drink to have fun. Watching a bunch of her co-workers get drunk was not her idea of a good time. What started off as an innocent get to meet Izzie's boyfriend was spiraling into a frat-like party. She had never been to one, but she knew from movies like Animal House, that they were liquor fueled bad-ideas. "Izzie, I'm pregnant and underage." Eddie reminded her. "There will be other drinks there, and dancing. Come on. Please." Izzie begged. "We'll see how tired peanut makes me after my shift and I'll see." Eddie placated the former model who nodded. Adults have to be places and do things and earn a living and pay the rent. And if you're training to be a surgeon, holding a human heart in your hands... Hello! Talk about responsibility. Three hours into their shift, Meredith Grey was in the O.R., holding the heart, as Dr. Burke worked. Meredith was so tired from working two long shifts in a row and she felt like ever since she moved to Seattle there wasn't enough hours in the day, closing her eyes and dozing off for a second. Her hand squeezes the heart she's holding. "What was that Dr. Grey?" Burke asked. "Sorry, it slipped. My hands." Meredith said, perking up. "It's okay, I'm done. You can release Mrs. Patterson's heart now. Very gently. All right. Let's warm her up. Get her off bypass." Burke said. Kinda makes bikes and cookies look really really good, doesn't it? Up in the observation deck Eddie, Cristina, and George were watching Burke's surgery. To learn, but, also to support Meredith. "I wish I could hold a heart." George said. " A monkey could hold a heart." Cristina scoffed. "You're mad Burke didn't ask you." Eddie said knowingly as Cristina shrugged. It was no secret that Cristina Yang had already declared what she wanted her specialty to be. Cardio. And, she had been trying to get into Burke's good graces since day one. She wanted to be in all of his surgeries, and his surgeries alone. And, whenever another intern got to scrub in, she was always a bit annoyed she wasn't chosen, even if she wasn't in cardio for the day. Before Cristina could respond, Izzie came in and sat down next to George. She had been running some tests for Dr. Chang, the Head of Ortho, before she could join them. "George, I need more ice and chips." Izzie informed her male roommate. Izzie was holding a "get to know you" for her boyfriend and all of her friends in the hospital. But, it quickly dissolved into what Eddie was calling a frat party. What was meant to be a small gathering quickly gained traction as Izzie kept inviting more and more people. "Who else did you invite?" George asked. "Izzie, we said the list was jocks only. Surgery, Trauma, Plastics. Who else?" Cristina asked. "Just some people from Peds." Izzie said with a shrug. "You invited the preschoolers to Meredith's house." Cristina commented. "Hey, just because they work with kids doesn't mean they aren't hard core." Eddie defended those in Peds. It had to be hard watching and operating on little kids who deserved to running outside and playing instead of laying in a hospital bed, sick, and dying. You had to be hard core to handle that. Eddie was leaning towards Peds or Neonatal surgeries ever since she worked a few cases with them already and it interested her more than the others. Cristina gave a moment to think about that comment, before simply shrugging noncommittally. "The next thing you'll say is you invited the shrinks." Cristina said to Izzie. Izzie looks away, not meeting Cristina's eyes. "She invited mental defects." Cristina groaned to her fellow interns. "This party's D.O.A." "You know, Meredith thinks this is just going to be a little, small, meetyour-boyfriend cocktail thing. Did you clear this with her?" Eddie asked as she took a sip of her smoothie. "No, but I will." Izzie said as the three interns gave her a look. "I promise." "Why are you wasting the only weekend your boyfriend is in town on a big party? Is he bad in bed?" Cristina asked bluntly. "No. I just want him to meet some of my friends." Izzie said with a slightly nervous chuckle. "Right. Sixty geeks in scrubs are your friends." Cristina commented. "Bad sex, sucks for you." Eddie said with a grin as Cristina laughed. "I heard there was a party tonight at Meredith's house." Alex informed his fellow interns who all shared a look and while Alex was a member of their little intern family, he was a dick. "Oh really, party?" Cristina asked shocked. "I haven't heard a thing about a party, you guys?" Eddie asked. "Uh, news to me." Izzie added. "No party." George agreed. " Are we losing her or what?" Alex asked motioning to the OR. "The grafts?" "They're open. Temperature?" Burke asked the doctor. "She's at 96 and rising." The doctor replied. "She should be doing this on her own" Burke said as he e strokes the heart. Flat line. "C'mon, Mrs. Patterson. Paddles." "Sets are below 90." The doctor replied. "Charge!" A third doctor called. "10 joules." Burke called. Shock. "Clear. " Burke said. Shock. "C'mon Mrs. Patterson. Give me 20." Burke said, determined to save this woman's life/ "Charge." Doctor three called out. "There, we have rhythm. Reluctant heart. All right. Let's close. Keep an eye on her. Good work, everyone." Burke said with relief as the heart started to beat. The scariest part about responsibility: when you screw up and let it slip right through your fingers. Later that day, George and Eddie were assigned to help their resident, Dr. Miranda Bailey with her current case. Eddie was happy to do so, she and the elder resident got along and she truly respected her and learned a lot being her inter. The three were looking at their patients scans and their resident decided to quiz them. "What do you see, George?" Bailey asked the male intern. "Hyper-inflated lungs, clouded with bullae, seriously diminished capacity. She must be having trouble breathing." George said. "Course of action Eddie?" Bailey asked. "A bullectomy procedure, remove the bullae, reduce the pressure." Eddie answered promptly. "Says here we operated on her back in '99, so Mrs. Drake as been through this before, but talk her through it anyway. And resist the anti-smoking lecture, she feels bad enough already." Dr. Webber informed them before he left. George walks over to Bailey, who is looking at x-rays. "So you think if they put pictures of these on a pack of cigarettes people would stop smoking?" George asked. Bailey gives him a look and shakes her head slightly. George looks awkwardly away, as Eddie stifles as laugh. Oh Georgie boy. When Bailey left she said. "Probably not, because addiction is a funny thing, they know it is bad, but the body craves it." George nodded. George and Eddie introduced themselves to their patient, Mrs. Drake, a sweet and kind older woman. "The surgery before was supposed to help, but it...it never felt right." Mrs. Drake admitted to the interns. "Probably would have been a good idea to quit smoking." George said. "George." Eddie chided as Mrs. Drake sent the blonde a smile. "Oh it's fine dear," Mrs. Drake told the young interns, before looking at George. "I did! Four pack a day habit. Oh, it was hell." "Here you go, Mrs. Drake." The nurse, Elise, said as she gave her a blanket. "It didn't do any damn good." Mrs. Drake informed them. "Really? Because it looked, I mean, from the damage, we all thought you probably were still smoking." George said. "Cold turkey. Five years ago. What do I get for my trouble? I still had to quit my job at the restaurant. But even sitting, it hurt." Mrs. Drake said. "Here you go." Elise said adjusting her pillows. "Nobody believed me. They all said it was in my head." Mrs. Drake continue "I've seen the films. It's not all in your head." Eddie promised the older woman. "You're right about that. Hey, come here." Mrs. Drake said as both Eddie and George moves closer. "You're both too damn young to be a doctor." "I'm older than I look." George commented. "I am probably not. But, if it helps, I'm a certified genius and more than qualified." Eddie informed the older woman. They start wheeling her away to the OR. "Do you think this is going to work this time?" Mrs. Drake asked. " I think it's your best option." George said. "Straight-shooter, huh?" Mrs. Drake asked with a smile. "Yes, ma'am." George agreed. "I like that." Mrs. Patterson said. George and Eddie were in the OR watching Mrs. Drake's surgery while Bailey explained the surgery to her two interns. "We call this a spaghetti procedure. We cut and deflate the bullae to facilitate gentle manipulation of Mrs. Drake's lung." Bailey explained. "Dr. Bailey, do you see that?" Webber asked as he saw something that defiantly didn't belong there. "Sir? Oh my ever-lovin..." The resident said shocked. "We need to open her up. I'm taking out the scope." The chief ordered. "You heard him, people. Let's move." Bailey ordered the others, who looked just as shocked. George looked to Eddie to see if she was just as confused as he was. "I think they found something that didn't belong there." Eddie said to her fellow intern. "Lights. Let's get set up. 10 blade. Get the scalpel ready. Towel." Webber ordered. "Rib spreader." Bailey said. "Suction." Webber ordered. The two surgeons worked on opening up Mrs. Drake's chest. A few tense moments later, they start pulling something black out of Mrs. Drake. "Is that a towel?" George and Eddie asked the same time. "Get a pan." Bailey said. "Where did that come from?" George asked. "Best guess, her surgery five years ago." Eddie said in disbelief. How did that happen? Who could be so careless? "Something careless this way comes." Dr. Bailey said sharing a look with her interns. Walking down the hall with the Chief and Bailey, George and Eddie filled Cristina with what they had found in Mrs. Drake's surgery. "A towel?" Cristina asked in shock. "Not good." Chief Webber muttered, thinking off the potential lawsuits that might be filed against the hospital for this oversight. "She complained about pressure on her chest." George started. "Said nobody took her seriously." Eddie finished for him. "Not good for the patient, not good for the hospital. Not good." the chief said. "Cristina, hit the files. Find out everything you can about that initial operation. Who was in that room, who was responsible for closing. George, Eddie, you both stay with the patient. Keep her happy, she seems to like you two." Bailey ordered her interns. "Right, okay, um, how long do you think I mean just technically, I'm off at 6:00." George hedged, afraid of the answer the Nazi would give him. "Am I invited?" Bailey asked, referring to the party Izzie was throwing at the frat house that she, George, and Meredith lived at. "Excuse me?" George asked. "Am I invited to the party?" Bailey repeated once more. "Oh! You, well, yeah. Yes. Yeah. Of course." George said, surprised Bailey had wanted to come. As Bailey walks away, Cristina gives George a 'really' look. "What was I supposed to say?" George asked confused. "Ugh!!" Cristina cried as she walked away. "Anything but that, apparently Georgie." Eddie said as the two went to spend time with Mrs. Drake. "Told me I had a towel inside me." Mrs. Drake informed the two interns with some difficulty. "Who told you that?" George asked, they had just arrived a few minutes ago, and had yet to say anything. "A surgeon, uh, older man, handsome." Mrs. Drake struggled to explain. "Oh, that is most likely Dr. Webber, he's our chief of surgery." Eddie said with a small smile. "Yeah. It was a towel that somebody left last time." Mrs. Drake said. "Yes, ma'am." The two interns say as they shared a look. "Who would do that?" Mrs. Drake asked with tears in her eyes and her voice breaking. "That doesn't seem right, does it?" "No, ma'am, no. It doesn't." Eddie said. "But, I am sure they'll find whoever made the mistake and take the needed measures." "I was walking around with a towel inside of me. How could that happen?" Mrs. Drake asked brokenly, as Eddie grasped her hand, and Mrs. Drake held it tightly, and gave the young blonde a small, yet, pain filled smile. "I don't know ma'am, you're okay now, though. You'll get better." Eddie said. As she cried, Eddie and George shared a look. Not knowing how else to comfort this sweet older woman who had been in pain for so many years all because someone was careless enough to leave a towel in her. Later into their shift, in the tunnels three of Bailey's interns laid on the beds left in the hall. Eddie was sipping a smoothie while looking over an article. Her legs thrown across Cristina's lap. "You got called before the chief?" George asked as he played with a glove that he had made into a balloon. "Tomorrow morning. I could get kicked out of the program. I could, right?" Meredith asked worried. "You're not getting kicked out." George tried to assure the blonde. "Patterson's just going to sue." Cristina said as Eddie nodded in agreement. "Patterson is not going to sue and you're not getting kicked out." George said sending a look to the two female interns. "What the hell are you thinking? Telling Burke. So stupid." Cristina said. "I told her not to." George said. "Thank you. Very comforting." Meredith said with sarcasm. "What? No! She should have! Granted the way you did it was not the smartest Mer, but imagine if it actually caused a problem. Plus, I think the Chief will think you're showing professionalism and honesty by stepping forward. You should just not have done it in front of the husband." Eddie said to the older blonde. "And, at least your conscious is clear. If you said nothing it would've eaten away at you." Meredith's phone went off. And, she went off to take the call in some privacy, while Izzie arrived and took her place. Izzie was carrying coffee, a banana, water, pudding, and fries in hand. Cristina takes the coffee and banana. George takes the pudding and water bottle. Leaving Izzie with some fries and a bottle of water. "Ok, So the beer's coming at 7:00 and some of the floor nurses are bringing wine." Izzie informed them. "You invited nurses? Ugh." Cristina complained. "Did you clear this with Meredith?" Eddie asked the former model. "A few more people isn't going to make a difference. Okay? A party's a party." Izzie said with a shrug. "Actually it is." Eddie informed her. "Meredith has a career changing meeting tomorrow with the chief. So, you better tell her Izzie. It's her house." "Okay, you and your pregnancy hormones are scary Girl Genius." Cristina said, slightly afraid of the younger intern. And, then turned to Izzie and decided to needle her a bit more, by adding; "And the bigger the party, the less time for bad sex with the hockey player." Cristina commented. "Would you stop saying that?" Izzie asked annoyed. "Ok." Cristina said with a shrug. :Hank and I have great sex." Izzie continued. Eddie wondered if she was trying to convince herself or Cristina. "Mm-hmm." Eddie and Cristina hummed. "All the time." Izzie continued. "Mm-hmm." "In fact, we'll probably have sex after the party, or during the party." Izzie continued as she snacked on some fries. "Okay, no need to be nasty." Eddie commented as she scrunched up her nose. She didn't talk about her sex life. It was privet. She had always been this way, she felt like it was something someone didn't need to know or comment on. "As long as you clear it with Meredith." George reminded getting a noise of approval from Eddie who had been sipping her smoothie. "Hank just needs to realize that doctors can have fun. We're not all workaholics with God complexes." Izzie said. "We ARE workaholics with God complexes." Cristina and Eddie commented together at once as they smirked at each other. Izzie gives them a look of pure annoyance. While, George shows her an inflated glove puppet with a drawn on face. Late that night Eddie was finally getting off shift and was relaxing on the bench as she laid her head against the cool lockers. "Hey." Alex Karev said, shocked to see the youngest intern still at the hospital. "I thought you would've been at the party." Eddie sighed. "I got off about thirty minutes ago, and I can't find the energy to get up. Plus, pregnant and underage, does a party filled with booze sound like a good idea?" Alex laughed. "True." "You okay?" Alex asked, concerned. He hated to admit it, but the young blonde had gotten under his skin, and he truly cared about her. He didn't know if it was because she was genuinely kind and honest, a rarity in life. Or the fact she was about the same age as his little sister, and it stirred something in him. Sure, she was beautiful, and he wouldn't mind having her in his bed, but it just felt wrong . "This seems more than you being tired." He had seen her practically run from one end of the hospital to another, dead tired when a pager went off. This seemed like something more. "I guess." Eddie said with a tired sigh. "It's just the patient George and I have. She had a towel in her for five years. She spent five years in pain, and no one believed her..." Eddie sighed. "It just makes you think about all the responsibility we have. In a minute we can change someone's life, without even knowing it. In a minute we can make a fatal mistake or damage someone so badly, they will never live their life like normal again...it's a lot." Eddie said, "and compounded by pregnancy hormones makes it feel worse." Eddie continued. "You are sometimes to good Sousa." Alex informed the younger doctor. "This job can suck sometimes." "Yeah." Eddie said with a nod. "But, it's so worth it. I can't imagine being anything else." "Me either." Alex agreed. "I should really get going. I think I am going to skip the party, as much fun as Izzie hyped it up as, and enjoy a nice night in." Eddie said as she got up and started to exit the intern locker room, before stopping. "You know, Alex Karev, I don't think you're nearly as bad as you think you are." Eddie informed the older male doctor. Leaving a somewhat stunned Alex Karev behind. No one had ever said that to him. And, honestly, it felt good having someone believe in him. Bright and early the next morning, Eddie was summoned to the frat house, to find it cored in debris of snacks and bottles. "What in the hell happened here? How many people came to this thing?" Eddie asked as George handed Meredith a mug of coffee as she laid on the dirty, and probably very sticky floor. Eddie made her way to the couch and sat on the arm of it, probably the safest place, because the couch was littered with bottles and food. "I don't even know. I'm too hung over to think." Meredith complained to the youngest intern. "That's what happens when you drink a bottle of tequila." Eddie said, noticing she was clutching the empty bottle. "I hate that you're so perky. Why can't you be miserable like I am?" Meredith complained. "Because, this is the first morning I haven't had morning sickness. And, I'm going to be pushing a baby the size of a watermelon out of a very small hole in a few months time. You can remind me of this moment then." Eddie said. "Deal." Meredith groaned. "Or maybe once Peanut is here, I get you drunk, while I stay sober and make fun of you." "Sure." Eddie said, "we'll try to find a time in our busy schedule." "When's your meeting with the chief?" George asked the older blonde, who was still on the floor. "In an hour." Meredith said. Izzie comes home, looks around, shocked at the carnage that was her, Meredith, and George's home. "Holy mother of destruction." Izzie said. "You missed Doctor-palooza." Meredith said as Izzie made her way towards them. "Apparently, you didn't." Izzie said. "I should probably never speak to you again." Meredith informed the former model. "Ugh, I'm so sorry, Meredith. I had no idea it was gonna get so..." Izzie started to apologize. "Crazy, destructive...messy?" Eddie asked as she looked around the messy home. "It's okay. Really, I don't care. What would I be doing anyway?" Meredith asked. "Preparing for your career-altering meeting?" Eddie offered, and at the look she got from the two other blondes she said, "Sorry." "That heart wall shouldn't have torn." Meredith said. Izzie picks up a beer, "Anything in the patient's history?" she asked. "Husband says she was in the best shape of her life. She lost 100 pounds last year." Meredith informed them. "Mer!" Eddie said, "that might be it! A hundred pounds in a year, that muscle mass might not be great." Meredith looked thoughtful for a moment, before nodding. "Do you even know whose that was?" George asked Izzie, who drank from the open bottle. "I'm hoping it was yours." Izzie said. "No." George said, slightly disgusted. George, Izzie, Eddie, and Cristina were all sitting outside of the Chief's office. While Meredith was in the meeting with the chief and Burke. "So, what do you think?" Izzie asked. "50 says Meredith gets tossed out on her ass and Burke walks away clean." Cristina said, as Eddie gently hit her arm. "Ow." Cristina muttered as she sent the genius a glare. "Be nice." Eddie said. About ten minutes later, Meredith came out and informed them that she had probation but besides that she was good. Which, honestly, was one of the best case scenarios and her three fellow interns were glad she wasn't thrown out of the program on her ass. They quickly scattered when Bailey told them to get back to work. Responsibility. It really does suck. Unfortunately, once you get past the age of braces and training bras, responsibility doesn't go away. "So Bailey saw you and McDreamy getting it on in his car?" Eddie asked Meredith as they were both looking through their patients files. Honestly, Eddie wasn't shocked that Meredith and Derek had hooked up again. They had this obvious sexual tension that basically radiated off of them. Meredith had tried to deny it more than Derek. Because, Meredith was an intern while Derek was an attending. Her boss' boss. You didn't want to be the intern known for sleeping with the attending. No one would take your career seriously...or they were always assume you got in on some big surgery not on your own merit but because they pulled strings for you. The first time Meredith and Derek slept together, was different, they had no idea that they would be working together the next day. But, to do it knowingly was another thing. But, the heart wants what the heart wants, Eddie supposed. And, Meredith really liked him. It was plain to see, and despite the fact they were mostly professional in the halls of Seattle Grace, Eddie was shocked at how few people noticed or seemed to catch their sexual tension and longing eyes. Or maybe Eddie noticed because she knew the history and she was a genius...that and the fact her own lack of love life had her noticing other's love lives more than she probably should. "Yes." Meredith said, "I was hoping it was all a tequila fulled hallucination but no." "Oh god," Eddie said, "what is she going to do? What are you going to do?" "Well, he's Bailey's boss too." Meredith said, "I have no idea." "Good news is they can't kick you out for that." Eddie said, knowing there was no rules that specifically stated that doctors (interns, residents, and attendings) couldn't sleep with one another. "I guess." Meredith said still worried, "but I'm more worried about what Bailey is going to do to me." "Good point." Eddie said. It can't be avoided. Dr. Preston Burke sat on the edge of Mrs. Drake's hospital bed, ready to apologize and take responsibility for his actions that caused this woman pain. "Mrs. Drake, I cannot begin to tell you how truly sorry I am." Either someone makes us face it, or we suffer the consequences. Derek is jogging up a staircase. He runs into Bailey, they exchange awkward looks. Last night was not either of their finest hour. Well, more Derek, than Bailey. And, it was going to be awkward for a long time. It is not everyday your resident sees you making out like a teenager in the back of your car with your intern girlfriend he supposed. In another part of the hospital Izzie walking past her patient, Mr. Sterman's room. "Izzie! I did it." Mr. Sterman called, stopping the former model. "I pooped!" "All right!" Izzie said with a laugh before making her way down the hall, when Alex walks up behind her and taps her on the shoulder. "Missed your party?" Alex asked. "Life as a surgeon." Izzie said with a smile. After meeting with Hank last night after a long shift, she saw that she didn't need to show him that doctors could have fun. He just wanted to spend the night with her. "And loving every minute of it." Alex said as they split up and walked off in different directions. In an on call room a few corridors down, Preston Burke is taking off his scrubs, hoping to catch a few hours of sleep. He had six hours left in his shift, and he already felt drained beyond belief, and beating himself up over what he did years ago to Mrs. Drake. The door opens, and before Burke could say anything, Cristina Yang slipped into the room. They share a long, deep, gaze as she locked the door. And still, adulthood has its perks. "Thanks for the coffee." Cristina said. Burke walks over and kisses her. This had been going on for the past few days. Cristina had been in search of a mentor, and Burke was the best. She hadn't expected the sexual component, but she wasn't going to deny that it felt good, better than good or great, fantastic even, They kiss passionately and begin to undress each other. After their shift, the four original Bailey interns found themselves at the frat house cleaning up the mess. Despite how disgusting most of the half-filled cups of alcohol and mess, the four of them were having fun, just hanging out with each other outside work. I mean the shoes, the sex, the no parents anywhere telling you what to do. That's pretty damn good.
