"Wow, I suspect Anna is playing for you." After Melanie got used to the game controls, the Leader, without fail, began her journey of being crushed.
Every one of her attacks was effortlessly caught by Melanie, who then countered with a slash.
Melanie didn't know complex Combos; all she knew was the Block and Counterattack that Leticia had just taught her.
But this was enough. For Melanie, the character's movements on the screen were as slow as a turtle, and a Perfect Block was as easy as drinking water.
"Leader, you should just give up. York Rose's reaction speed isn't even human." Leticia chuckled, feeling a strange sense of satisfaction watching the Leader get utterly dominated by Melanie.
However, Melanie was clearly unhappy with Leticia's assessment, "Are you insulting me?"
Insulting her by saying she wasn't human?
"This is a compliment, okay." Leticia insisted that she was being genuinely sincere in praising Melanie this time.
"Really?"
"I'm complimenting you on being so strong you're inhuman. How could that be an insult?"
"..." Melanie fell silent. It seemed that, indeed, she wasn't being insulted.
Was she being too sensitive?
Meanwhile, the Leader was already envisioning the future. "Once York Rose joins the Guild, our team will have two top experts! Hahahahaha, the Purple Rank is within reach, the Purple Rank is within reach!"
"Leader, you should focus on figuring out how to keep our Green Rank first. I can't solo an entire team by myself." Leticia said resignedly to the Leader.
The power gap within their team was too large. She was in the top tier, followed by a few experts, and then the main members of the Guild War team.
The Leader had to use a lot of persuasion just to bring those experts in, and their requirement for joining was that they wouldn't have to participate in Guild Wars.
"Green Rank, huh... Let me check the current score... Hey, don't we still have three hundred points?" the Leader said with great confidence. "The Purple Rank is within reach!"
"Within reach, my foot! We're seven hundred points away from the Promotion Match and only three hundred away from the Relegation Match!" Leticia retorted fiercely.
As she spoke, her hand subconsciously rested on Melanie's shoulder and began slowly applying pressure. This was her usual way of venting frustration.
Normally, however, she would grab a chair or a table. Today, someone else was sitting in the chair, and Leticia didn't realize it immediately, so she just used her hand.
Melanie frowned and glanced at Leticia, only to find that the girl had completely ignored her existence at this moment.
"Three hundred points! I just dragged the team up from one hundred points a few days ago. Leader, can you please take this seriously?"
"Even if you say that, there's nothing I can do. You're the only powerful one in our team, Anna. Everyone else is just slightly above average. It's already great that we can maintain the Green Rank." The Leader's voice dropped slightly.
Speaking of which, ever since she brought Anna into the Guild, Anna had been carrying the entire Guild upward in every Guild War.
This made the Leader feel uneasy. Other guilds would worship such an expert, but here, she could only provide Anna with a few items.
She had thought about giving Anna some financial compensation, but whenever she brought it up, Anna would refuse without hesitation.
"Just help me pay for some weapons or something." That was Anna's biggest request.
To be honest, a weapon wasn't cheap in the game, but compared to the worth of a top expert like Anna, it was still far too little.
"It would be nice if we could recruit a capable commander." Leticia released Melanie, resting her chin on her right hand as she murmured.
"Capable commanders all have fixed teams. I'll try my best to look." The Leader agreed to Leticia's request. "Oh, right, do you want a Newbie Account?"
"A Newbie Account?"
"Little Sister York is going to start a new account, and you can't go to the Low-Level Area. How else are you going to guide Little Sister York?" the Leader stated confidently. "Don't worry about your Main Account, I can handle the Dailies for you."
"She doesn't need me to guide her!" Leticia immediately countered.
Melanie needing her guidance? What a joke, this girl was definitely the Newbie Village Overlord, alright.
"Guide?" A curious light shone in Melanie's eyes. She looked at Leticia, asking for the meaning of the word.
"It means playing with you using an account of a similar level. My Main Account can't enter the Low-Level Area." Leticia briefly explained. "That's what it means, but you probably don't want me to guide you anyway."
She and Melanie were enemies. Who lets their enemy guide them in a game?
Leticia was certain Melanie would play by herself.
"That sounds interesting." But Melanie shook her head. "I want you to guide me."
"...Are you serious?"
"Is there a problem with that?"
"Ahem, there are quite a few problems." Leticia realized Melanie seemed to lack a clear understanding of their relationship. "Are we good friends?"
"No."
"It should be 'very bad'."
"..."
"Then how did you, this little genius, come up with the idea of letting me guide you in the game!" Leticia questioned loudly. "We are enemies!"
