As the spaceship's hatch hissed open, a large group of armored aliens scurried out.
"Wait... is that a Saiyan tail?" Gohan asked, pointing at a tall figure whose tail was wrapped around his waist.
As the group tensed, the soldiers—led by the tall Saiyan—suddenly dropped to their knees.
"We offer our greetings to Prince Vegeta!"
Vegeta's lips curled into a faint smirk, but he kept his brow furrowed. "Are you... Paragus?"
"Indeed, most esteemed Prince Vegeta. It is I. I have come specifically to escort you to New Planet Vegeta to take your rightful place as King."
Paragus knelt on one knee, his voice dripping with reverence.
"New Planet Vegeta? King?"
"Yes, Prince Vegeta. Our home world was destroyed by Frieza, but I was fortunate enough to escape. I have since found a new planet. I hope you will lead us in rebuilding the Saiyan empire and make the Saiyan race great once more!"
"Only with you at the helm can the Saiyan race reclaim its former glory. You are the sun of the Saiyans, the power that guides us forward..."
Paragus continued to shower Vegeta with shameless flattery, terrified that Vegeta might refuse to come with him.
"Hmph. I have no interest in being a King!" Vegeta's cold voice cut through Paragus' speech.
Vegeta had abandoned his obsession with Saiyan honor the day Frieza died. He had a life of his own now; why on earth would he want to waste time building some backwater kingdom?
Seeing Vegeta's lack of interest, Paragus frowned. This wasn't going according to plan. He decided to switch tactics.
"Prince Vegeta, even if you have no desire to rebuild the kingdom, how do you feel about the Legendary Super Saiyan?"
"The Legendary Super Saiyan?" Vegeta's eyebrow twitched.
"Precisely. The Legendary Super Saiyan has been rampaging through the South Galaxy, obliterating planets at will. His power is beyond comprehension!"
"New Planet Vegeta is right on the edge of the South Galaxy. I fear that if this continues, we too will fall victim to that monster."
"Most esteemed Prince Vegeta, as the new King of the Saiyans, do you not have a duty to protect your people?"
"The Legendary Super Saiyan, huh? Interesting."
Vegeta didn't care about being a king, but the mention of a legendary warrior caught his attention. He wanted to see how this "legend" compared to a true Super Saiyan like himself.
"Fine. Paragus, lead the way. I'll go see just how strong this Legendary Super Saiyan really is!"
Seeing Vegeta prepare to follow Paragus, Trunks grew anxious. "Father, don't listen to him! 'Legendary Super Saiyan'? Aren't we already Super Saiyans?"
"What?!" Paragus blinked, his eyes widening. They can transform too?
He stared in shock as Trunks powered up into a Super Saiyan right in front of him.
"No, Prince Trunks... the Legendary Super Saiyan is... different."
Turles shook his head and began walking toward the ship as well. After all, the old-school version of Broly was quite a freak. His battle power doubled every year? What kind of broken setting was that?
Battle power wasn't supposed to grow that easily. Turles grew fast because he had a cheat system. Look at Goku and the others: they trained until their hair turned white, and their base power was still within reasonable limits. Broly, on the other hand? This guy hadn't trained a day in his life, and he would eventually beat Goku and the others so badly that Vegeta would lose the will to fight.
"Indeed, Prince Trunks," Paragus added quickly. "The Super Saiyan you become is nothing like that demon. When the Legendary Super Saiyan transforms, his body is engulfed in a green aura, and his energy is purely chaotic. He is a madman who exists only for destruction."
"Interesting. Very interesting," Vegeta said, his resolve hardening. He walked straight onto the ship. "Paragus, take me to him immediately. I want to see what this 'Legendary Super Saiyan' is made of!"
In Vegeta's mind, there was no way this "legend" could be stronger than Cell. He had mastered the Super Saiyan Full Power state and believed he could handle any foe. Besides, Turles had mentioned a Super Saiyan 2—he was confident he would reach that level soon.
Trunks gritted his teeth and followed. Gohan and the others were also dragged onto the ship by a drunken Master Roshi. Aside from the two Bulmas, nearly everyone was on board.
During the flight, Paragus was the model of hospitality, constantly checking on Vegeta's needs.
His fawning was so masterful that Vegeta's ego reached critical mass. To Vegeta, the "Legendary Super Saiyan" was now nothing more than a stray dog waiting to be put down. He was convinced he could solve the problem effortlessly.
Before long, the ship arrived at New Planet Vegeta.
As they disembarked, the group realized the planet was largely a barren wasteland. Buildings were being erected amidst piles of rubble. Groups of small, green-skinned aliens were hauling stones to build a palace.
Watching a crowd of soldiers cheer for Vegeta in front of the palace, Turles shook his head. Paragus missed his calling as a movie director. This is one hell of a production...
Among the rank-and-file soldiers, Turles immediately spotted Broly. He stood head and shoulders above the rest, bare-chested, wearing a heavy Control Crown and a thick necklace. Although he looked somewhat lethargic, his massive, muscular frame made it clear he was not to be trifled with.
"Prince Vegeta, this is my son, Broly."
"Hmm." Vegeta nodded dismissively. He had zero interest in Broly; his mind was entirely focused on hunting the legendary warrior.
Broly didn't acknowledge Vegeta. Instead, his gaze was locked onto Turles. His eyes began to flicker with a primitive, violent rage. It was that face—the face that had haunted his dreams and fueled his hatred for all these years...
Turles realized instantly that he was taking the heat for Kakarot. Seriously? What a pain in the ass. Just because Kakarot's crying annoyed you in the nursery? You've held onto that until now?
Seeing Broly starting to lose control, Paragus quickly raised his hand and activated the remote control on his wrist. The device suppressed Broly's burgeoning power. The show was just beginning, and Paragus didn't want his son exposing himself just yet.
