Creation Magic

Beginner → manipulate existing inorganic material

Adept → alter material properties and permanently imbue magical properties

Master → manipulate the fundamental structure and magical potential of inorganic matter

I. Beginner-Level Spells

At this stage, the mage is learning to perceive and manipulate inorganic matter. The spells are practical rather than spectacular.

1. Material Sense

The user perceives the composition and physical structure of nearby inorganic material.

Can identify:

metals

stone

crystals

ores

impurities

fractures

density

structural weaknesses

Essentially the Creation equivalent of an "Analyze" spell.

2. Stone Manipulation

Allows the user to move and reshape small quantities of stone.

Useful for:

carving

construction

digging

repairing walls

creating crude weapons

The user isn't creating stone; they're rearranging it.

3. Metal Manipulation

The basic equivalent for metals.

At first, only small quantities can be manipulated.

An apprentice might bend a sword.

An experienced beginner could reshape a lump of iron into a crude knife.

4. Mineral Separation

Separates different minerals within an ore.

For example:

Iron ore → iron-rich material + unwanted rock

This is one of the most commercially valuable beginner spells.

5. Purification

Removes physical impurities from inorganic substances.

It can purify:

metals

crystals

gemstones

salt

ores

glass

The spell becomes increasingly useful as the user's control improves.

6. Material Joining

Fuses two or more inorganic objects together.

For example:

Two pieces of steel → one seamless piece of steel.

Unlike conventional welding, the join can potentially be molecularly seamless.

7. Material Separation

The opposite of Material Joining.

Allows the user to separate objects that have been physically joined.

A beginner might separate two pieces of metal.

A skilled user could dismantle a crude mechanism without touching it.

8. Shape Memory

Allows the user to memorize the structure of an inorganic object and restore it to that shape later.

A crude precursor to Restoration Magic.

For example:

A lump of iron → sword → back to lump of iron.

It doesn't restore historical states. It simply restores a previously recorded configuration.

9. Hardening

Temporarily alters the physical structure of inorganic material to make it harder.

Useful for:

weapons

armour

shields

construction

10. Softening

The opposite.

Allows normally rigid materials to temporarily become malleable.

A stone wall can become workable like clay.

11. Edge Formation

Creates extremely precise edges in inorganic material.

Useful for manufacturing:

blades

tools

surgical instruments

machinery components

A Creation mage could theoretically produce a perfectly shaped cutting edge without conventional forging.

12. Crystalline Growth

Encourages crystals to form and grow from existing crystalline material.

At beginner level, this is slow and limited.

Later it becomes one of the foundations of magical-ore creation.

II. Adept-Level Creation Magic

This is where Creation Magic stops being merely matter manipulation and begins becoming true magical creation.

An adept understands that materials possess properties beyond their ordinary physical characteristics.

13. Material Imbuement

The fundamental Creation technique.

The user permanently infuses an inorganic material with magical energy.

For example:

Iron + Mana → Mana-infused Iron

This doesn't necessarily give it a supernatural ability yet.

It simply makes the material capable of holding magical properties.

14. Property Imposition

The user can deliberately give a material a magical property.

Examples:

heat resistance

cold resistance

mana conductivity

mana storage

magical resistance

vibration resistance

light absorption

increased durability

This is where proper enchanted materials begin.

15. Elemental Imbuement

Creation combined with Elemental Magic.

Examples:

Flame Ore

Permanently retains thermal energy and can release it when activated.

Frost Crystal

Naturally absorbs thermal energy.

Storm Metal

Conducts and stores electrical energy.

Light Crystal

Stores and emits magical light.

Shadowstone

Absorbs ambient illumination and suppresses magical detection.

The important distinction:

An Elemental mage controls the element.

A Creation mage makes the material itself possess an elemental property.

16. Magical Alloy

Combines two or more different materials while preserving selected properties of each.

For example:

Mithril + Adamantite → a lighter material with extreme durability and exceptional mana conductivity.

17. Ore Synthesis

Allows the user to combine minerals into an entirely new form of ore.

For example:

Iron + Mana Crystal + Fire Essence → Firesteel Ore.

Afterwards, the ore can be smelted and processed normally.

This is the first true step toward artificial magical materials.

18. Magical Crystal Formation

Creates crystals capable of storing a specific magical property.

Possible products:

mana crystals

elemental crystals

spatial crystals

memory crystals

energy-storage crystals

communication crystals

However, the more sophisticated the property, the greater the Creation mage's understanding must be.

19. Spatial Imbuement

Creation + Spatial Magic.

Allows inorganic materials to contain spatial properties.

Examples:

Spatial Container

A box whose interior is larger than its exterior.

Dimensional Blade

A weapon whose cutting edge partially occupies another spatial layer.

Pocket Stone

A small stone containing a miniature storage space.

This is one of the techniques that demonstrates why Creation + another Ancient Magic can be dramatically stronger than either alone.

20. Gravitic Imbuement

Creation + Gravity.

Creates materials that possess unusual gravitational properties.

Examples:

extremely heavy metal

gravity-resistant armour

artificially light materials

gravitational anchors

impact-amplifying weapons

A sword containing a localized gravitational field could become almost weightless while being carried and enormously heavy when swung.

21. Self-Repairing Material

Creation + Restoration.

Creates an inorganic material capable of restoring its own physical configuration.

For example:

A sword repairs chips and cracks automatically.

This isn't actual regeneration.

The material has simply been given a restoration function.

22. Mana Circuit Formation

The Creation mage creates permanent magical channels within inorganic materials.

This is effectively the magical equivalent of creating:

wiring.

It allows the construction of:

magical machines

enchanted weapons

magical engines

automated artifacts

magical circuitry

This will become extremely important once Ben begins combining magic with technology.

III. Master-Level Creation Magic

A Master no longer thinks:

"How do I reshape this material?"

They think:

"What should this material be?"

23. Material Reconstruction

The user can completely deconstruct and reconstruct inorganic matter.

For example:

Iron sword → raw iron → completely different metal structure.

The transformation occurs at an extremely fundamental level.

The user isn't simply reshaping the sword.

They're reconstructing its material composition.

24. Atomic Reconfiguration

A high-master technique.

The user rearranges the constituent particles of inorganic matter to produce a different material.

For example:

Carbon → diamond.

Or:

One metal → another metallic structure.

This requires enormous precision and mana.

25. Magical Property Synthesis

Instead of merely transferring an existing magical property into an object, the user can construct a new magical property.

For example:

"This metal should become harder when exposed to magic."

The mage establishes the magical behaviour and permanently integrates it into the material.

This is the true beginning of magical metallurgy.

26. Ancient Imbuement

One of the most important master techniques.

Creation can permanently incorporate another Ancient Magic into inorganic matter.

For example:

Creation + Gravity

Gravitic Ore

Creation + Spatial

Dimensional Crystal

Creation + Restoration

Chronosteel

Creation + Spirit

Soulglass

Creation + Evolution

Adaptive Alloy

Creation + Metamorphosis

This one becomes extremely strange because the material can acquire limited biological behaviour.

Creation + Elemental

Elemental Ore

Creation + Conceptual

Potentially Conceptual Artifacts.

This is why Creation is uniquely suited for artifact production.

27. Artifact Creation

The signature Master-level technique.

An artifact is created by permanently embedding:

Material

Magical property

Magical function

Activation condition

Mana circuit

Durability structure

into a single object.

For example:

Sword + Spatial Magic + "Cut the distance between myself and my target."

The resulting weapon isn't merely enchanted.

Its ability becomes part of its existence.

28. Artifact Core

A more advanced version of artifact creation.

The mage creates a central magical structure inside an artifact that acts as its core.

It can:

store mana

regulate spells

maintain enchantments

process magical commands

activate abilities

Essentially:

the magical equivalent of a processor + battery + operating system.

This could eventually allow Ben to create highly sophisticated magical technology.

29. Material Life

Creation + Spirit/Evolution.

The user creates an inorganic construct capable of receiving:

magical energy

memories

commands

consciousness

This doesn't necessarily create a true living being.

But it can produce something resembling a:

magical artificial life-form.

This is one of the boundaries where Creation begins approaching Conceptual Magic.

30. World Forge

An extremely high-level technique.

Instead of manipulating an individual object, the user treats a large region of inorganic matter as a single material system.

A Master could potentially reshape:

mountains

fortresses

underground structures

enormous mineral deposits

artificial islands

With sufficient power, the technique could effectively allow the user to forge landscapes.

31. Genesis Forge

The pinnacle of Creation Magic.

The mage establishes a controlled environment in which raw inorganic matter is continuously:

deconstructed → purified → combined → enchanted → reconstructed.

It is essentially a magical industrial forge capable of producing entirely new materials.

This could be how legendary ores were originally created.

32. Philosopher's Material

A mythical Master technique.

The user creates a material capable of accepting almost any magical property without destabilizing.

Rather than being powerful because of a particular ability, its value lies in its compatibility.

It could serve as the substrate for:

Spatial artifacts

Gravity weapons

Restoration equipment

Spirit vessels

Evolutionary devices

Elemental weapons

Conceptual artifacts

It would essentially be the ultimate artifact material.

33. Absolute Creation

The theoretical pinnacle.

This is where the distinction between:

"Manipulating existing matter"

and

"Creating matter"

finally begins to disappear.

The user can assemble matter from fundamental components and available energy. However:

Creation cannot violate conservation without an equivalent magical cost.
