I had already arranged for the clothes to be delivered before leaving the office that morning, and the thought of it stayed in my mind the entire drive back home.
I was not even sure why I did it.
Maybe it was because the twins had stayed in my thoughts since the moment I saw them that day. Maybe it was because the way Katherine had spoken about them made me curious. Or maybe it was something else entirely that I had not yet figured out.
Either way, the package had already been sent.
Amanda and I arrived home not long after leaving the company building, and the moment we stepped into the house, the familiar quiet of the place settled around us. The house staff greeted us politely before returning to their duties, and Amanda slipped off her shoes while walking toward the living room.
I loosened my tie slightly because the day had already been longer than expected.
"Aaron," Amanda called while turning toward me.
I looked in her direction.
