~Katherine's POV
The only thing repeating inside my head was the same frightening thought again and again.
My children were hurt.
I reached the driveway almost blindly while trying to unlock my car, but my fingers kept fumbling with the keys. I pressed the button on the key fob twice and still struggled to open the door properly because my hands would not stop trembling.
My breathing had become uneven, and the tears that had started inside the office were still rolling down my face.
Just then, Mathew caught up with me.
"Katherine," he called while hurrying toward me.
He reached the driveway and stopped beside me while watching me struggle with the car door.
"Hey, slow down," he said gently while placing a hand on my arm to steady me.
But I shook my head quickly because slowing down was the last thing on my mind.
