The Divine Wrath:
On the giant holographic screens, the Alpha was trembling with rage. His golden mask seemed to vibrate.
The Alpha: "INSOLENCE! A MERE MORTAL DARES TO INTERRUPT THE DIVINE PROCLAMATION FOR... FRIED DOUGH?! ACADEMY OF THE EAST, FACE YOUR JUDGMENT!"
He raised his staff, and the golden clouds above the school began to swirl into a massive, concentrated vortex. The mana readings on the city's sensors went off the charts. It was a Level 8 "Heavenly Spear" spell—enough to vaporize three city blocks.
The Panic:
"It's over," Lucian whispered, closing his eyes. "The city is gone."
Serina grabbed Alex's arm, her knuckles white. "Alex! Please! You have to do something! That thing will kill everyone!"
The Snack Crisis:
Allen: (Staring at the churro fryer) "Man... the pilot light went out. Alex! The stove is dead! I have raw dough sitting in lukewarm oil! This is an emergency!"
Alex: (Looking up at the giant spear of golden lightning descending from the clouds) "Don't worry, buddy. Delivery is on the way."
The Catch:
The "Heavenly Spear" struck. It roared through the air with the sound of a thousand jet engines, aimed directly at the churro stand. The students screamed, hiding their eyes from the blinding light.
Fwoosh.
The light didn't explode. It didn't even make a sound.
When the students opened their eyes, they saw Alex standing on top of the churro stand. He had caught the massive spear of lightning with his right hand. The "Divine Bolt" was currently compressed into a small, buzzing ball of golden electricity between his fingers.
Alex: (Inspecting the bolt) "A bit low on voltage, but the flavor is okay. Hey, Allen! Catch!"
Alex flicked the "Divine Judgment" like a cigarette butt. The ball of lightning landed perfectly under the churro fryer, igniting the burners with a steady, blue-gold flame.
Allen: (Happily) "Perfect! Now we're cooking. Thanks, Alex."
The World's Silence:
The entire world, watching via the broadcast, went silent.
The Alpha and Omega on the screen were frozen. They had just sent a "World-Level" attack, and it was currently being used to fry snacks at a school festival.
Evelyn: (Staring at Alex, her heart doing backflips) He didn't even use a shield. He just... caught it. Like it was a ball of yarn. She felt a strange warmth in her chest. It wasn't just admiration anymore; it was something much deeper. She wanted to stand by him, even if it meant facing the end of the world.
The Association's Pride:
Suddenly, a fleet of high-tech Hunter Association helicopters descended around the Academy. The Grand Commander of the Association, a man covered in scars and heavy armor, stepped out onto the roof of the main building.
He looked at the screen, then at the "Gods" in the sky. He had seen Alex catch the bolt, but his ego wouldn't let him believe it was a "Godly" act. He thought it was just a specialized mana-absorption relic.
Grand Commander: (Speaking into a megaphone, his voice booming) "Alpha! Omega! You have attacked a civilian sector! The Global Hunter Association does not recognize your authority! We have spent decades preparing for the 'Great Eclipse'!"
He looked down at the courtyard—specifically at Alex and the girls.
Grand Commander: "To the 'Powerful Youths' below—stay back! This is a matter for the Professionals! We don't need 'students' playing hero. We have the SSS-Rank 'God-Killer' railguns ready."
The Reaction:
Alex: (Biting into a freshly fried churro Allen handed him) "Did he just call us 'students playing hero'?"
Allen: "I think so. He also called those robed guys 'True Threats'."
Alex: (Grinning, leaning against the fryer) "Alright then. If the Association wants to handle the 'Gods,' let them. I'm curious to see how a railgun handles a 'Budget Alpha'."
Alex: (Winking at the trembling Grand Commander) "Go ahead, old man. Show us how 'Professionals' do it. We'll just be here eating. Don't mind us."
