I could see Rayden's car pulling away from the mansion's driveway, while the security outside looked extremely tight.
Not only at the entrance, but there were guard posts at every corner of the grounds, which meant that no matter which direction the danger came from, they would never let it slip through.
I don't know what I was thinking when I agreed to come here. I clearly have no chance of running away from here, no matter what.
I sat curled up in a corner of the large room where I was now; scanned the room, taking note of everything inside.
It didn't feel like I was being held captive, because everything was here—it felt like home. However, I couldn't simply brush aside the memory of what Rayden had said earlier.
He won't open the door until he makes a deal with my father regarding my safety.
Is that true? Or is it just another excuse to distract me from the fact that he's my older brother?
