"Jacob it's nothing like that, you were not here and Alice didn't want to worry you so she told me to never talk about her past infront of you or anyone", Ava said slightly guilty, she knows that Jacob may look funny and unbothered but he cares about Alice alot.
" I understand that Alice had her own reasons for not telling me about her past but you could have told me or given me the slightest hint of what was going in her life, is it because you think that I am not mature enough to understand her traumas"? Jacob asked slightly vulnerable.
"Jacob it's nothing like that, I know you care a lot about Alice but try to understand my state too, I had to be there for her, to look after her, to make sure she is not drowning in her past again, it was not easy for me either, whenever Alice suffered I suffered with her too", Ava said emotionally which hurted Jacob so he immediately hugged her.
"Okay, I understood the scenario, but make sure you guys don't hide things from me again ", Jacob said in demanding tone which made both Ava and Edward nod their heads.
"Alice, come on catch me, if you catch me I will share my chocolates with you", Alex said while running as he came into the living room with Alice running behind him slowly to let Alex enjoy teasing her.
"Sweetheart just wait till I catch you, I am not going to leave unless I eat your every chocolate ", Alice said jokingly. George fondly stared at her, he watched how his heavens wavy hairs flew back as she ran after Alex, how sweetly smiles, how melodic her giggles sound, Everything about her and just her mere presence was making him fall for her more.
"Alice come here we have to discuss something important", Edward said as he caught Alex up in his arms who giggled loudly, Alice nodded and sat next to George, "As it is finalized that the wedding will be by the end of this month which means after fifteen days, so what do you guys think about the wedding destination"? Edward asked.
Alice froze as the realisation of getting married to George hit her, the feeling of stepping into someone's life who claims to have romantic feelings for her is already a bit of a headache for her and the responsibility of something as sacred as marriage felt too heavy.
"I actually have a place in my mind but first I want to know Alices' opinion, if she has thought of any destination or venue, we will marry there only", George concluded and Alice rolled her eyes, the man sitting next to her is asking if she has a place in her mind Where she wants to get married, girl doesn't even want to marry.
"I haven't thought of anything, You only decide, everything happens your way only", Alice said but mumbled the last words which only George could hear
George felt bad hearing her, but he knew that he has got in this situation by his own self and he has to get used to Alices' cold remarks and blunt answers if he wants her to stay by his side.
"So which destination is in your mind George"? Ava asked being excited, " I actually thought of Vatican City, I have always dreamt of marrying in Vatican City as I feel like it's the most sacred place to receive sacrament of marriage , it's not just a wedding it's a once in a lifetime spiritual journey ", George let out softly.
Every one in the room looked at George astonished, the man who looks so damn cold that people hesitates to interact has this much respect for marriage, something this generation runs away from but for him it's the most sacred thing.
Alice too looked really amused, she had already picturized George in her mind from the things Jacob has once mentioned to her, she knew he is the strict buisness tycoon who knows how to coldly have end to end conversation and also is respectful towards others and passionate for his work.
She never even once thought that the man who looks like a walking iceberg will have this sweet dream of getting married in Vatican City. "But marrying in Vatican City is not easy we need permissions or someone from the family needs to work within church institutions", Edward stated.
"My mother's bestfriend works in the church institution, I have once talked with her about my dream and she was like whenever you find the right person to marry, inform me I will arrange the wedding in Vatican City", George cleared and everyone smiled feeling relieved.
"Just give me a second I will call her and see if the wedding can happen on the date we planned to, cuz church authorities will only give permission if they don't have anything up that day", George said as he called his mother's bestfriend, Maria.
Every one waited patiently as George talked with Maria over phone call, soon he turned around hanging up the call, everyone except Alice stared at him in anticipation, "Well, we can have wedding there, she said she will manage everything", George assured.
Ava squealed happily hearing him and bounced on the couch a little, Alice internally smiled at her sister's childish behaviour, she was happy that finally Ava was satisfied and not disappointed at her
"George I think you should stay here, also call your sister and Aunt too, we will arrange a small engagement ceremony in Brooklyn and then we can go to Vatican for the wedding ceremony", Edward suggested on which George agreed.
"Yeah I will inform them but staying here, will that be okay"? George asked, "Obviously you can stay here but not in Alices' room, maintain distance before marriage, then after marriage she is all yours", Ava said teasingly which made George blush slightly.
Ava weirdly looked at George when he started blushing at Avas' comment, she just wanted ground to swallow her whole, she was already too much tired of the bullshit happening around her and her hyper excited sister wasn't helping either.
"I will inform Nancy and aunt Mia, Jacob if you are not tired by playing with Alex then go and bring them here", George said as he called Nancy, his baby sister ,"Hey, Nancy, I have got something important to tell you, pack your luggage and inform aunt Mia too, I am sending Jacob to pick you guys", George simply said.
"I have got University to attend I am not coming, no need to send your PA here", Nancy said rudely from other side which made George slightly pissed as he sternly said,"I know how much serious you are in terms of your studies and University, your progress reports are true evidence of your hardwork so be obedient and pack your bags".
"You are such a jerk", Nancy yelled from other end and George forcefully chuckled saying,"You are very right about me sweetheart, now go and inform aunt Mia ".
"You want me to go to New York to bring your sister and Aunt here"? Jacob asked when he saw George hanging up the call, "Yeah, you don't want to go"? George asked challengingly, "No, no I will go but New York is far", Jacob said sulking.
"It will only take you one and half hour to reach New York so don't be sulky and make sure you bring them safely here and if Nancy shows any tantrums then just call me ", George said and Jacob nodded.
Alice watched them keenly, she saw how Jacobs eyes flutter at the mention to Nancy as she asked which was only audible to Jacob, "So, you are going to pick up your only crush "??
