Chapter 21 - Canon Event

The school day went on normally. Rain poured heavily outside, the kind that turned the windows into grey blurs and filled the classrooms with the constant rhythm of droplets tapping against the glass.

The sky had been dark since morning, and the sound of distant thunder occasionally rolled through the air.

Because of the rain, he didn't bother heading to the Occult Research Club during break. Walking across the courtyard in that weather would have meant getting soaked, and frankly, he wasn't in the mood.

Instead, he remained seated in class.

Students chatted around him, some scrolling on their phones, others leaning over desks sharing snacks or gossiping about whatever nonsense high schoolers usually talked about.

The teacher droned on lazily at the front of the room, writing something on the chalkboard that most of the class had already stopped paying attention to.

Silas rested his chin against his palm, staring blankly out the window as rainwater streamed down the glass in long trails.

Thinking about things.

He was really bored.

Sure, the story had officially begun, and technically he was now inside the timeline where things were supposed to start happening… but that didn't mean things were going to get interesting immediately. From what he remembered, the beginning of the story dragged on a bit before anything truly exciting happened.

And that was a problem.

Because boredom was starting to set in.

His fingers tapped slowly against the desk as he let out a quiet sigh.

'Things better get interesting soon or I'm starting trouble myself,' he thought.

The final bell eventually rang, echoing through the hallways and instantly bringing the entire school to life. Chairs scraped across the floor, bags zipped, and students began filing out of classrooms.

School had ended.

Silas packed his bag lazily, slinging it over his shoulder as he stood up and made his way out with the rest of the students.

There weren't any plans today. So he simply began walking home.

The rain had eased slightly by then, though the sky was still heavy with dark clouds. Puddles had formed along the sidewalks, reflecting the dull evening light as cars passed by on the street.

As he walked, Silas had his phone out, completely absorbed in a game of Geometry Dash.

His thumbs moved quickly across the screen as the tiny cube jumped across spikes and platforms in perfect rhythm with the music blasting through his earbuds. His eyes remained locked on the screen, barely paying attention to where he was actually going.

He didn't bother looking around him.

The world around him faded into background noise.

Until suddenly—

He felt it. A strange energy surrounding him. It was subtle, but unmistakable.

Silas slowed his steps slightly, his eyes finally lifting from his phone as his brows furrowed.

He glanced around. Silas realized he was standing in the park. Which was odd.

The quiet neighborhood park stretched around him, its empty swings swaying gently in the wind while raindrops dripped from the metal bars. The paths were damp and deserted, with only the faint sound of rainwater trickling through the grass.

Silas blinked.

'...Damn, how'd I get here?' he thought.

He had been walking home.

He was sure of it.

Yet somehow, without even noticing, he had ended up here. Before he could think further, movement ahead caught his attention.

His gaze shifted forward.

And then he saw them.

Issei.

And standing in front of him. A man with large black wings spread from his back.

The winged man floated slightly above the ground, his expression cold and murderous as dark energy gathered in his hand. Issei stood frozen in place, fear clearly written across his face as he stared at the figure in front of him.

The man raised his hand.

Preparing to kill him.

Silas stared at the scene for a moment, completely unfazed.

Then he slowly slipped his phone into his pocket.

'...I should play games while I walk more,' he thought. With that casual realization, he simply began walking over.

The man was a Fallen Angel named Dohnaseek.

Dark wings spread wide from his back, their feathers glistening slightly under the dim, rain-soaked evening sky. His golden carried a cruel amusement as he stared down at Issei like a predator cornering weak prey.

Suddenly, a blue light flashed within his palm.

The air around his hand distorted slightly as holy energy gathered together, condensing rapidly into a weapon.

A long blue light spear appeared in his hand, crackling faintly with divine power. The spear hummed in the quiet park, its sharp tip glowing with enough energy to pierce straight through a human body without resistance.

Dohnaseek smirked, clearly enjoying the fear radiating from Issei.

Without hesitation—

He launched it.

The spear tore through the air like a bolt of lightning, leaving behind a streak of blue light as it shot directly toward Issei's chest.

Issei's eyes widened in terror. Before it could even pierce him—

Silas stood in its way. One moment there had been empty space in front of Issei.

The next moment Silas was there, casually standing between them as if he had always been there.

The light spear approached him rapidly.

Yet to Silas… It looked slow. Very slow.

He calmly raised his hand and caught the light spear.

The glowing weapon stopped dead in his palm. For a brief moment, it was as if time itself had paused.

Then—

Time flowed normally again.

The spear's energy flickered helplessly in Silas's grip before fading out completely like a candle being snuffed.

Dohnaseek, who had been smirking a second ago, now looked completely shocked.

His expression twisted from confidence to disbelief. To him, Silas had literally appeared out of nowhere. One second his spear was about to kill the human boy.

The next— A stranger had intercepted it effortlessly. Immediately, something Raynare had told him resurfaced in his mind.

'He must be the guy huh? Well I better kill them both,' he thought.

Meanwhile—

Issei, who had been getting ready to run away in pure survival instinct, suddenly stopped as he looked back.

His eyes landed on Silas.

Recognition slowly appeared on his face.

'Isn't that… the pretty boy who's always hanging around Rias-senpai?' he thought in shock.

Even in a life-or-death moment, jealousy still crept into his mind.

'What I'd do to be him!' he thought bitterly.

Dohnaseek's expression twisted into anger as his shock faded.

"You've both sealed your fate!" he shouted.

Holy energy gathered around his hands again.

"Prepare to die!"

A wide, evil smirk spread across his face.

In his hands, he created two more light spears, both glowing intensely as their energy vibrated in the air. But before he could even throw them—

Silas vanished.

KAAACH!

The sound echoed through the quiet park. Dohnaseek hovered in the air, frozen. Slowly…

Very slowly… He turned his head. Silas was standing beside him. His expression calm. Almost bored. Then Dohnaseek looked down.

That was when he felt it. An unbearable pain exploded through his abdomen. His eyes widened as he saw Silas's arm pierced straight through his stomach, exiting through his back.

Blood slowly dripped down Silas's arm.

Then fell to the ground in quiet drops. Dohnaseek's mouth opened slightly in shock, his wings twitching weakly as his strength began leaving his body.

Silas calmly pulled his arm out. More blood spilled from the wound as the Fallen Angel's body trembled.

With a casual flick of his wrist— The blood vanished from Silas's arm. As if it had never been there.

Not a single drop remained. He then began walking downward through the air.

Each step looked like he was stepping on invisible stairs, descending gracefully toward the ground.

Behind him—Dohnaseek fell.

His body dropped to the ground heavily as he clutched his abdomen, groaning in pain while dark blood spread across his clothes.

Silas let out a small sigh.

'Azazel will probably be more entertaining than this loser,' he thought.

Suddenly, a red magic circle appeared on the ground. Ancient demonic symbols rotated along its edges as crimson light flashed brightly. Two figures emerged from the circle.

Rias and Akeno.

The moment they appeared, their eyes immediately scanned the scene. The wounded Fallen Angel. Silas calmly standing there. Shock flashed across their faces.

Followed by relief.

'At least Silas was here,' Rias thought.

Silas turned toward them as he began walking over. "What took you two so long?" he asked casually. "Your precious Pawn was about to die and you came late?"

Rias sighed softly before answering."Sorry. Something held us back."

Her eyes moved briefly toward the injured Fallen Angel before returning to Silas.

"But it seems like you handled everything." She gave him a sincere smile. "Thank you, Silas."

Silas stopped right in front of her. Without hesitation, he raised his hand and gently lifted her chin with his fingers.

"No problem," he said calmly. "I was quite bored today." His gaze locked with hers. "This didn't remove the feeling completely… but it tried at least."

Rias's cheeks turned slightly pink. Her eyes fluttered a little under his gaze. "Well… I guess being late worked out well for both of us then," she replied softly.

"I suppose it did," Silas responded.

For a moment, the two of them simply stood there, locked in each other's gaze.

Then, Akeno cleared her throat. Silas turned toward her. His smile widened slightly.

"Akeno," he said."I'm really feeling like having your tea right now, you know."

He began walking toward her.Rias frowned slightly.

'Akeno always has to ruin our moment,' she thought.

Akeno smiled sweetly.

'You ruin our moments too. Don't act innocent,' she replied through telepathy.

Rias's eyes narrowed slightly.

'Who'd know you'd stand up to me one day,' Rias said.

Akeno's smile remained elegant.

'All is fair in love and war, Rias,' she responded.

Rias's lips curved into a small smile.

'You're right there.'

All while this silent battle was happening, Issei stood a short distance away.

Completely frozen. His brain struggling to process everything he had just witnessed.

The supernatural fight, almost dying again, teleportation, two beautiful beautiful girls and worse in his case a confident and handsome guy flirting with both of them.

His eye twitched. 'WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!!!!!' he screamed internally.
