Chapter 5 - Inside The Belmont Hold

Sypha pressed the palms of her hands together, then held the palms down over the door. She began to recite an incantation, a while light came from below her hands, and wings came up from the door before they and the door vanished, showing a staircase going far down underground.

"Open sesame," Sypha said, looking smug.

"Was that an Enochian word?" Alucard asked her as Skylar gave her a nod of approval and a grin before heading inside. Alucard and the other two followed behind.

"Yes," Sypha said, pleased with herself. "I know that language."

"I'm impressed, Sypha," Skylar said as she and the others headed down.

"Well, well," Alucard said as he nudged Skylar, giving her a playful grin. "Naughty Belmonts hunting the terrible things of the forest but sitting on a magic door opened by an occult language."

Skylar couldn't help but snicker at the mention of it. Trevor scowled while they walked ahead of him.

"I didn't know it was a fucking magic door," Trevor said with a grovelling sigh. "Doesn't make us black magicians."

"Even though Enochian word Teloch means death," Skylar said, "You know that right?"

"Shut up," Trevor said.

"It's the magical door of death, Belmont," Alucard said, making Skylar laugh as she walked with him.

"Are you done or what?" Trevor said as the group continued down the steps. The steps continued down into the darkness. While they travelled further down, the steps echoed as the group travelled further down. Ahead, there were many paintings in a round room with a spiral stairwell. Skylar continued down the stairwell. She didn't pay any attention to Trevor. Alucard kept in step with Skylar. Skylar continued to look around and travel down the spiral staircase. Then, Skylar stopped abruptly, listening for something.

"Skylar?" Alucard asked, looking at her, his brows furrowed.

"Someone's down here," Skylar said, taking her sword from the scabbard on her back. She looked into the unlit threshold. "They're down there. In hiding. Using the shadows."

Alucard looked ahead as well, following Skylar's gaze into the shadows. Skylar raised one hand and clenched it into a fist above her chest, and whispered a short phrase, silent, and missed by Alucard's ears. Skylar shot her hand out, hand open, and sent out many bright orbs of daylight. ALucard looked between the orbs, then to Skylar with wide eyes. SKylar looked at him, then to her daylight orbs, lighting up the hold. Then she laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Hehe, just something I learned in the clan I grew up in," Skylar said, a slight sweat dripped from her temple, hidden behind her hair. Alucard raised a brow, impressed by her power.
