Alucard followed Skylar, still watching her with a faint grin on his face. Skylar didn't look at him since she created the lights overhead, and held her sword tightly in her hand as she walked with Alucard ahead. Trevor and Sypha followed close behind. Skylar's eyes snapped towards any slight change in shadows as she walked with Alucard. Noises grew louder as they walked further into the hold—silent whispers.
"What is that?" Trevor sid, taking out his whip and his sword.
"Did someone get down here without that door?" Sypha asked, preparing to form a spell as the group got closer to the voice's source. Skylar was about to strike around the corner when a blur came from the side and slammed her into a pillar, and held her up by her throat. Her hands frantically tried to get the clawed hand off her throat, her legs kicking frantically. She could open her eyes just enough to look ahead, a young woman, pale, with dark hair, and bright red eyes. Her teeth bared, showing fangs. A vampire in the Belmont hold.
"Dracule!" Alucard rushed in and slammed the woman he called Dracul off Skylar into a wall. As Skylar fell, Alucard caught her and set her on her feet. The woman stood up, her fangs bared.
"Alucard, why the hell are you travelling with a Mati of all people?!" The woman, Dracule, shouted, her fangs bared. Skylar's body flinched at the accusation. Alucard stood in front of Skylar while holding her up, and she rubbed her throat, a thin slash on her neck.
"Dracule, stop!" Another young woman came out, with semi-long brunette hair, and dressed like a travelling healer. She stopped Dracule from coming closer to Alucard and Skylar.
"You know what a Mati can do, why wouldn't I react when I see one with my brother, Elizabeth?!" Dracule said, pushing against the woman's hands.
"This isn't what we talked about in Gresit." The woman, whom she called Elizabeth, said. The others perked up, hearing this.
"Wait, why were you two in Gresit?" Alucard asked, looking at his sister. Dracul flinched, as if Alucard asked something she couldn't answer. Skylar saw something in Dracule, and it made her think of something that could be why she didn't want to say anything to Alucard about something that happened.
"To hunt Lisa Tepes's killer," Skylar said, staying behind Alucard. Dracule looked away, her hair hiding her expression. "It's why you were in Gresit."
Alucard looked from Skylar to his sister, seeing how she was in that city to avenge their mother.
"Dracule," Alucard said, looking at his sister, trying to understand.
"... What did you expect me to do?" Dracule said, before looking at her brother, tears in her eyes. "Mother was taken, and I couldn't do anything to help her! It was my fault! I couldn't even convince our father not to slaughter the human race, or keep him from hurting you! It's all because I couldn't do anything!"
Alucard looked at his younger sister, and an ache in his chest bloomed painfully. Skylar stayed silent and only watched. Elizabeth held Dracule with a mournful expression. Sypha and Trevor stayed close by.
