When he said he was going to take her out somewhere, Jade could have never imagined it would be to the ice rink, not to skate but to watch a performance. For a start, getting into the building was quite a thing. The pathway was cleared, roads were blocked for a few minutes, and the entrance was closed, almost as if the entire system had been shut down just because one man was about to come in. Even celebrities were not treated this way.
Once inside, he was directed to one of the best seating spots. Jade sat next to him the entire time, and it was quite the experience. She sat beside him, followed by guards at several strategic positions around them.
"You like ice skating," he said, his eyes fixed on the rink below. They were late to the first performance but at least managed to see the end of it.
"My dad used to take me when I was a child," Jade replied, reminiscing about old times rather than enjoying the moment. "I even got to learn."
