Perhaps for the one hundredth time in the last four days, Jade wasn't quite sure how to react or take what was being thrown at her in the moment. Those words from Luther had to be the most tempting, and in that moment she couldn't process anything else. If he just wanted to tell her the truth, why did he kidnap her? That question skipped her mind entirely. He had some kind of connection to Dustin. Does anything good come from someone acquainted with her father's murderer? That question too did not cross her mind.
All that rang in her head was, "Truth, the truth, he can tell me the truth."
"Jade." Luther called her attention back when she did not respond. Her eyes shifted across the room to where Dustin stood, and with a voice almost inaudible, she said,
"He killed my dad. I just want to know why."
