Chapter 19 - I was first. Hmph.

What is my next class? Silas was lost in thought as he closed in on his locker.

Rosalie's identity is entirely built around beauty, desirability, and being chosen. Silas felt the need to get some revenge since she had been sabotaging him.

He specifically chose her pressure points, and if she doesn't reveal vampire stuff, which she will never do, she can't refute him, not really. She's basically trapped socially.

Very well played if I do say so myself.

As he was praising himself in his head, he arrived at his locker. Fiddled opened the lock and looked at his schedule.

Math.

Silas picked up his math book, note book, pen, calculator, then smacked his locker shut.

Making his way towards the math class, he wondered if Rosalie would tell Emmett about their conversation… probably not, she's very prideful.

The most dangerous sin is pride, as shown by Lucifer, Satan.

God can forgive everybody as long as they choose to repent, except Satan. His pride in wanting to be God, replace him… unforgivable.

Well, if you believe in that stuff. And I can with much certainty say… there is no God in this world.

Hehe.

Otherwise he wouldn't mind claiming the title of God slayer.

As Silas was daydreaming of grander views he arrived at the math classroom.

He walked in and soon spotted Emmett furthest down. He saw him and waved.

Silas walked over and put down his books.

"What's up? Did you have a good day yesterday?" Emmett asked with a smile.

Silas nodded.

"Yes, it was good."

Then Silas got a good idea.

"Emmett, there was some girl in my previous class who tried to get information about you from me, it seems she knew you were my good brother."

Emmett smiled at the mention of good brother. See Silas is his good brother, he even said so himself.

"Oh? What did she ask?"

Silas frowned, like he was troubled.

"She asked me about your favorite food, color, and sport. It felt like she was sowing discord, how can our brotherhood be constrained to worldly matters like this?"

Emmett smiled and nodded in response to this bullshit, like he was hearing the gospel.

"Well she probably wasn't."

Silas nodded.

"Indeed that was what I thought. And later she even claimed to be your girlfriend. But how could my brother have such a rough, mean, fierce and narrow minded girl?"

Emmett nodded. Indeed.

"Well, don't pay her any mind."

"Also, do you want to sit with my family at lunch? I saw that you say alone yesterday and I tried to call you over but you didn't see me."

Silas thought. Alice had already dragged him in. Sigh. Fine.

"Sure."

Emmett smiled and was about to start talking again.

The teacher at the front looked out over the class and frowned, his eyelid twitching.

"QUIET! What are you? Middle schoolers?"

Sigh. The same old line, are you this are you that? Update the teachers handbook.

The class started and soon there was individual work. Well, working in the book.

This gave Emmett an opportunity to talk again, albeit in hushed whispers when the teacher wasn't looking.

"So? What do you like doing in your free time?" Emmett asked, keeping an eye on the teacher.

"I like reading."

Emmett nodded.

"My sister likes to read."

"Ohh? Which one?"

"The short one, Alice. Well Rosalie likes to read as well, but it's mainly to have something to do."

"So what does your sister like to read?" Silas asked, anything to get him to stop asking him questions.

Emmett was quiet for a second.

"I don't really know… I'm more into video games."

Silas grabbed at the conversation.

"So? What do you play?"

Emmett smiled.

"I like to play Resident Evil 4, it's very good, Call of Duty 2, also very good, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, it's pretty good, even Rosalie likes that one…"

Silas sighed a breath of relief, he found the rambling button. It wasn't that he didn't like Emmett, he was a good guy, but if he asked too many questions, he wouldn't be able to answer many of them.

I just have to give him the illusion he knows me, so he can stop with the: I wanna get to know you, questions.

Just as he was rambling, the teacher arrived behind us at some point.

"Focus on your work. I know you two are good at math, but don't disturb your classmates."

Emmett nodded apologetically.

Silas also nodded.

They sat in silence for the rest of the class. Emmett seemed quite excited, I think it has something to do with that its lunch after this class.

Soon the bell rang, Silas and Emmett packed up their things and made their way out the classroom side by side.

"Let's swing by your locker then we can go to mine." Emmett said.

Silas nodded, it sounded like a plan.

They soon arrived at Silas's locker, after fiddling with the lock, he opened the locker and threw his books in.

Although he didn't care much, but his locker was in quite good order.

He closed the locker and turned to look at Emmett. They soon made their way towards Emmett's locker.

It was quite some way apart from his. But they soon arrived, Emmett opened his locker, and to Silas's surprise there was a surprising amount of order in his locker, the books were standing in good order, he had folders for loose papers, different colored notebooks for different classes.

Unexpected. There is a lot you don't learn in movies and books.

Soon Emmett was done and turned around.

"Let's start heading towards the cafeteria, we usually meet at a staircase there. Then make our way to the cafeteria together."

Silas nodded.

"Lead the way."

Individually they attracted a lot of attention, but together, tsk, it was quite something.

They rounded a corner and the promised staircase was right there, Alice, Ella, and Jasper were already there.

Emmett raised his hand.

"What's up guys, look who I found."

Alice looked over, she had clearly been lost in thought. But when she saw Silas, a smile formed on her face.

"Silas, you made it, I was wondering where you were." She bounced up next to Silas as she spoke.

"I went to your math classroom, but you weren't there."

Silas looked at her.

"Yeah, the teacher let us go a little earlier. He apparently had a lunch meeting."

Alice nodded.

Emmett on the side looked confused.

"Did Alice invite you as well?"

Silas nodded.

"Yeah, this morning."

Alice looked proud and shot a glance over at Emmett, as if saying she was faster thus better.

Emmett didn't take it to heart, as long as his good brother was here, it didn't really matter who invited him.

Now the only one they were waiting for was Rosalie.
