Twisting the wheel on the lock, Silas soon opened the locker.
"I hate these locks."
Silas looked at the painting in his hand then at the locker. It will fit… right?
He took out his biology book, pen, and notebook… then he looked down at the painting he had leaned against the locker below.
Time to see if it will fit.
Silas lifted up the painting and lined it up with the locker, after some back and fort… he finally got it to fit.
He looked at the painting that was snuggly squeezed in the locker.
Will the door close? It must… right?
Silas slowly closed the locker and… click.
He could close it.
Silas locked then started making his way towards biology, today was exciting, it was the first real conversation between Bella and Edward.
After walking though the halls for some time, he arrived at the biology classroom.
"Silas"
Silas looked over towards the direction of the sound. It was Kate.
"Hello Kate, are you excited for biology?"
She nodded.
"Yeah, we are going to get to use the microscopes today."
Silas nodded.
Just then he felt a shift in the room. He looked over towards the door and there stood Bella, eyes locked on Edward.
She walked over and sat down. Just then Edward spoke.
Silas turned to Kate.
"Shh~ look."
Kate looked over and fell quiet.
"Hello, I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to introduce myself last week… I'm Edward Cullen, you're Bella."
Bella looked at him weird then responded.
"Yes."
Just then the teacher walked by and started to talk about sorting, and stuff.
Also… you could win a golden onion. Wow!
Edward pushed the microscope towards Bella.
"Ladies first."
Bella grabbed the microscope and said.
"You were gone."
"Yeah, mhh, I was out of town for a couple of days, personal reasons."
Bella didn't respond to that. She shoved the microscope over.
"Prophase."
"Do you mind if I look?"
Bella shook her head.
Edward looked in the microscope for a second then said.
"It's prophase."
"Like I said."
Silas felt the awkwardness all the way to the back. He looked over at Kate who was looking at him.
They locked eyes and let out a chuckle.
Edward looked over to Bella and smiled.
"Are you enjoying the rain?"
Bella scoffed.
"You're asking me about the weather?"
Edward looked taken back.
"Yeah… I guess I am."
Bella shook her head.
"Well, I don't really like the rain… any cold, wet thing I don't really…"
Edward let out a chuckle.
Silas in the back had a weird expression.
Cold and wet? He looked from Bella to Edward then from Edward to Bella.
How love can change preferences.

Kate looked at him weirdly.
"What's so funny?"
Silas stopped smiling and looked over.
"Just do the assignment. I want that golden onion."
Kate just smiled and shook her head. Then she remembered something, Sophie.
Damn.
She looked over at Silas hesitantly. Then she steeled herself.
"Silas."
Silas looked over.
"What's up?"
Kate looked down at the microscope then looked up.
"My sister, Sophie, she wants to meet you when you drop me off… she says she can't let you drive me if she doesn't meet you."
She looked over and said quickly.
"Of course you don't have to…. my sister is just worried."
"She… she also said she will tell our mom…" she was about to continue but Silas interrupted her.
"It's fine, I can meet your sister." He really didn't know why she got so excited, he just needed to show himself, at most hand over his phone number so they could reach him.
Kate looked surprised then happy.
"Really? Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
Kate then seemed to think about something.
"My sister… she is a little special."
Silas looked over at her then chuckled.
"Haha, I think I can handle your sister, don't you think?"
Kate looked at him then smiled.
"Definitely."
Silas nodded.
"Now let's finish this so I can get the golden onion."
They started to speed run the assignment.
"Hey teacher, we're done." Sikas said as the teacher walked past.
"What!? Already?"
He walked over and looked at their assignment.
"You really are done… impressive."
Silas nodded.
"So do I get the golden onion?"
The teacher smiled and nodded.
"Yes, definitely."
Silas smiled.
The rest of the class passed smoothly and soon they were done.
"Hehe, I got the onion." Silas said as he walked down the corridor.
Kate on the side smiled as she watched his antics.
"Are you really that interested in this onion… you know its just spray pained, right?"
Silas looked over and nodded.
"Yeah, but it's a sign of honor."
Kate chuckled.
Just then they arrived at Silas's locker.
He opened the locker and took out the painting, then he put in his biology book, pen and notebook.
He smacked the locker closed then grabbed the painting.
"Let's go."
Kate nodded, but then looked curiously at the painting in his hands.
"Did you make that?"
Silas looked at the painting.
"This?"
"Yeah."
"No, it was Alice, I made a portrait of eachother then we echanged them."
Kate nodded, Alice huh.
A minute or so later they arrived at Kate's locker.
"I will just put in my stuff fast."
Silas nodded.
"No hurry."
Kate had really good order in her locker.
"Done."
Silas nodded and they started to make their way towards the parking lot.
After walking out the big doors, they were met with rain.
"It's raining… again." Silas complained.
Kate chuckled.
"Its Forks."
As they talked, they made their way towards Silas's car.
"Finally away from the rain." Silas said as he sat in the car.
Kate who sat down a second later nodded.
Silas started the car and then made his way out the parking lot.
"Alright, time to meet your sister." Silas said teasingly.
Kate nodded, she was a little absent minded.
Making their way down the road, Silas was still speeding like usual.
After a few minutes they arrived in front of Kate's house.
Silas took off his seatbelt and looked over at Kate.
"So you're finally inviting me in."
Kate looked over.
"You could have asked to come in any time you dropped me off."
Silas heard this and shook his head.
"I can't invite myself in, that's not how it works."
Kate scratched her head and looked a little embarrassed.
"Well, sorry, I've just never invited anyone to my house before… and this wasn't how I wanted it to go."
Silas smiled.
"Yeah, yeah, it's fine I'm just messing with you."
"Let's head in."
Kate nodded and they stepped out of the car.
