Chapter 11 - Chapter 11. Lunashade

The road to Windfall City stretched endlessly, bordered by thick forests and winding streams.

Elior walked steadily, Pyrolyn's flame flickering beside him, Voltiger sparking softly as it trotted on the path.

He held the Stonecrest Badge firmly in his hand, a reminder of his first victory, but his thoughts were already ahead.

"I need a third Pokémon," he murmured.

Pyrolyn flickered its flame in agreement. Voltiger let out a low, determined growl.

Elior knew his team was stronger now, but they still lacked versatility. With Team Umbra lurking somewhere nearby and the challenges ahead at the next Gym, he needed a Pokémon to complete his team.

The path led through a dense forest. Shadows moved between the trees, and the air was thick with the scents of wild Pokémon.

A flicker of silver caught Elior's eye.

A small, nimble Pokémon stepped into view: Lunashade, a Dark/Ghost-type fox Pokémon with silvery fur and piercing eyes. It moved cautiously, observing Elior and his Pokémon.

Elior crouched slightly. "I'm not going to hurt you," he said. "I just… want you to join us."

Lunashade tilted its head, studying him. Its tail flickered, sending faint trails of shadowy energy into the air.

Pyrolyn growled lightly, ready to defend. Voltiger's fur crackled nervously. But Lunashade didn't attack.

It was curious… cautious… yet something about Elior seemed to calm it.

Elior decided not to rush. He let Pyrolyn and Voltiger spar gently in the clearing, showcasing teamwork and precision. Sparks flew, flames rolled, and electricity crackled—but it was controlled, careful, and protective.

Lunashade watched intently, stepping closer with every demonstration.

Elior extended his hand slowly. "See? We fight together, not against each other. I won't force you. I just… want to be your partner."

The fox's tail flicked again, the glow pulsing brighter. After a tense moment, it took a cautious step toward him.

The True Test

Before Elior could celebrate, a Forest Wraith, a larger, hostile Dark-type Pokémon, leapt from the shadows toward Lunashade. Its eyes glowed red.

Elior acted instantly. "Pyrolyn! Voltiger! Protect Lunashade!"

Pyrolyn rolled into a blazing Flame Wheel, while Voltiger struck with Thunder Rush, forcing the Forest Wraith back.

Lunashade crouched, watching, then leapt into action. With a swift strike of Shadow Claw, it sent the Wraith retreating into the trees.

Elior's heart raced. Lunashade had made a choice: it would fight to protect, not out of fear, but courage.

He smiled. "That's all I needed."

A New Bond

Elior reached for a Poké Ball. "Lunashade… will you join me?"

The fox's eyes met his. Slowly, deliberately, it nodded once.

The Poké Ball hit the ground. Click. Shake. Shake. Shake… click.

Elior's face lit up. "Welcome to the team, Lunashade!"

Pyrolyn's flame flickered excitedly, Voltiger's fur sparked in celebration, and Lunashade emerged gracefully, tail flicking and eyes shining with curiosity.

"Together… we'll grow even stronger," Elior whispered.

High above, hidden among the treetops, a cloaked figure observed silently.

Team Umbra's agent whispered into a communicator. "The boy has a third Pokémon."

The leader's eyes narrowed. "Interesting. He's growing faster than expected. Keep monitoring… do not interfere yet."

Below, Elior and his team continued down the path toward Windfall City, unaware of the eyes that followed.

The journey was far from over.

But with Pyrolyn, Voltiger, and now Lunashade, Elior's team was finally complete—for now.

And the journey continues....
