Chapter 36 - The punishment does not fit the offense

Slowly, she turned around to face the king while everyone else continued making their way out of the hall.

Some threw her pitiful looks filled with sympathy, while others simply ignored her altogether, unwilling to involve themselves in whatever fate awaited her.

Gamma Sera, who had been standing beside Lucien and had witnessed everything the king did with Arabella, felt sick to her stomach. Rage and jealousy burned fiercely inside her chest, but she chose to ignore it and pretended she had seen nothing. Slowly, she closed her eyes and took in a deep breath before opening them again. The anger on her face disappeared instantly, replaced with a soft smile.

She told herself silently that one day Enzo would belong to her, and when that day came, all of this would be forgiven.

"Enzo, won't you at least acknowledge me? I have been standing here for so long because I was worried about you," Sera said softly as she stepped forward toward the king.
