The matching outfits did little to help.
Arabella could practically hear the rumors multiplying with every step they took together. The king of Lycoria had taken interest in his new breeder, and now the entire palace was witnessing it with their own eyes.
"Give me your hand."
Enzo stretched his hand toward her casually, as
though such intimacy between them was natural. Arabella hesitated for only a second before placing her hand in his.
His grip was warm and firm.
"Where are we going?" Arabella asked as they continued walking side by side through the grand corridors of the palace.
Enzo glanced at her briefly before facing forward again. "Do you know one of the games played during the Bonding Solstice?"
Arabella shook her head. "No, I don't."
"One of the most anticipated events is horse riding," Enzo explained. "Newly bonded mates compete together. The winning pair is crowned the king and queen of the solstice festival."
Arabella blinked in surprise. "That sounds… intense."
