The metal door swung open as Henry released his hand from the surface. A large Grey marbled room opened up before them, wall sconces lighting up one by one, their small yet intricate designs highlighted. The walls were sketched in flowers and vines that stretched around the room like the earth was hiding her secret here.
A shining metal coffin lay dead center in the encased room. More beautiful designs of the same flowers and vines almost carrassed the coffins lid. "More Elvin metal but why the decorarions?" Ramona curiously asks as they spread out examining the room for danger.
" Wisteria, most common in romantic settings in Korea or Japan." Henry chimes in before Marshall could guess. The curly haired man felt that annoyingly familiar tug in his mind as he took controlled steps towards the coffin.
"It can also represent immortality or everlasting love even through death. We usually use it in love potions but to see it represented so much in one room" Henry's voice faded with a knowing that slowly dawned on all of the group.
" I think we found what we came looking for" Marshall bent down besides the cold coffin. Examining the details of the design of the lid he could tell that there was a lot of care put into this work. His large hand went to touch the hard metal but was met with a shock of something into his body.
Images of a forest and a village filled with humans flooded his mind with an overwhelming feeling of longing. Then there she was, the image of a beautifully framed woman with white flowing hair turned away from him. His mind reached towards the image as if he had lost something important.
" Boss? Are you ok? You sort of stopped talking" Clay tapped Marshall on his back making him snap out of whatever had happened.
" Sorry...Clay call for pick up with extra hands. We have what the elders need" his words turned to authority, shaking away that odd moment. They had what they came for and now they could go back home.
" Henry, what kind of magic us on this coffin?" Marshall paused as the others hurriedly readied themselves for departure. The mage focused on the ancient stone for a moment, taking in the sparks of old powers.
" just some old locking spell, I can fix something up for it when we get back, im put of energy at this point" he sighed and leaned against a stone wall.
Henry noticed a slight pause in Marshall's features, a moment of confusion. " why? Did something happen when you touched it?" He asked.
" No, I just wanted to make sure since we have others coming in for the grab." The older man brushed a stressed hand through his curls. Henry shrugged it off, more concerned with going home then his coworkers behavior.
Marshall however took a moment to himself as he focused in on the metal coffin next to him. That pull he had felt for years while asleep was still there even though he was awake. This was something new, and something oddly scary to him.
