Chapter 5 - 5.Between Friendship and Love

Aarav dropped Chahat home and drove ahead. Everything seemed normal… until he noticed a phone lying on the back seat.

It was Chahat's.

Without wasting a second, he turned the car around.

He didn't know why, but something inside him felt uneasy.

Meanwhile, Chahat stepped into her house.

The lights were on.

Everyone was awake.

Waiting.

Her father walked toward her.

"Where were you?" His voice was calm, but firm.

"And who was that boy?"

Chahat opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out.

Her mother added, "Your father is asking you something. Why are you silent? What was so important that you had to leave secretly?"

Fear wrapped around her. She had gone to help a friend… but explaining it suddenly felt so difficult.

"Myra needed me," she finally said softly. "She was in trouble. That's why I went."

Her father's expression tightened slightly.

"And that boy? Who is Aarav?"

Before she could answer, the door opened.

"I'm Aarav."

Everyone turned.

Aarav stepped inside respectfully.

"Uncle, please let me explain calmly. You should be proud of your daughter. Tonight, she helped her friend. The situation was serious, so she called me. I only went with her as a friend."

The room fell silent.

Chahat looked at him — surprised, grateful.

Her father looked at her again.

"If this was the truth, then why were you scared? You did a good thing."

Relief filled her chest.

As Aarav turned to leave, he said,

"By the way, Chahat… you forgot your phone in my car."

She looked embarrassed. "Oh… thank you."

He gave a small smile. "Good thing you did. I reached at the right time."

For a brief second, their eyes met.

Something unspoken passed between them.

That same night, Myra reached home.

Silence surrounded her.

She replayed everything in her mind —

Aarav saving her.

Chahat standing by her.

And her own harsh words.

Slowly, guilt replaced her anger.

The next day at college—

Myra walked toward Aarav.

"Aarav… I'm sorry."

He raised an eyebrow. "Are you feeling okay today?"

She smiled faintly. "Yes. I'm completely fine. I just wanted to apologize for how I behaved last night. And… thank you for helping me."

Aarav looked genuinely surprised.

Then he extended his hand.

"So… can we be good friends?"

Myra smiled and shook his hand. "Yes, we can."

Later, when Aarav told Chahat about it, she smiled too.

Seeing him happy… made her happy.

Even if that happiness wasn't because of her.

Slowly, Myra and Aarav grew closer.

He introduced her to a friend from the modeling industry. She got shortlisted.

Her childhood dream finally felt possible.

Aarav started spending more time with her. Expensive gifts. Long conversations. Shared laughter.

Three years passed.

They were in a relationship.

One evening at a party—

The music was loud. The lights were bright.

Aarav and Myra were dancing together, lost in their own world.

Chahat sat on a chair nearby, watching them with a soft smile.

Suddenly, a rude boy approached her.

"Will you dance with me?"

She refused politely.

But he didn't step back.

He tried to force her to dance.

Before things could get worse, Aarav noticed.

He immediately stepped in and pulled the boy away.

"Didn't you hear her say no?" Aarav said firmly.

He turned to Chahat. "Are you okay?"

She nodded, still shaken.

From a distance, Myra saw everything.

Something inside her tightened.

Later that night—

Myra confronted Chahat.

"Stay away from Aarav."

Chahat stared at her in shock. "Myra… why would you think that about me?"

"I saw the way he reacted."

"He was just helping me!"

But Myra refused to listen.

Hurt and insecure, she walked away.

And for the first time, a crack appeared in their friendship.

Time moved forward.

Wedding preparations began.

Myra and Aarav were about to get married.

Everything looked perfect from the outside.

But inside…

Emotions were far from simple.

Will Myra's insecurity fade away?

Will Chahat's silence remain forever?

And will Aarav truly understand his own heart?
